The CGI looks stunning!!! Can't wait to watch this!!! For those who don't know the significance, it's basically the first time Hong Kong film industry making a movie like this. Majority of the movies in Hong Kong are rom-coms, Chinese New Year celebration comedies, detective/crime thrillers, and also big-budget movies with the intended audience of Mainland China (that means using mainly Mainland China's stars and production teams). According to the interviews, majority of the production team and the stars are Hong Kongers. And the CGI was all done in Hong Kong. That's rare. Even for The Wandering Earth, the CGI was done by a Korean CGI production company. I don't know how the movie is going to be. It might be crappy and full of plot holes. It might be an entertaining popcorn-flick like Black Adam, also with plot holes but fun to watch. I can't wait to find out. But after watching the trailers (yes, I've seen the Hong Kong trailers too), I got to say that this movie might be a great CGI production company's portfolio. I looks better than the recent MCU films and series. Maybe Disney can let this company do the CGI. Also, this company participated in the production of The Mitchells vs. The Machines and the actor, Louis Koo (the guy in the beginning of the trailer with the close-up), was one of the executive producers of The Mitchells vs. The Machines.
I watched it at the Cinema in Hong Kong. It's a great movie and visually spectacular. The only gripe was there was too much going on in a lot of the action shots (think Michael Bay and transformers) but the whole thing held up well and is a solid effort given the budget. Post production apparently took 4 years to complete - A full on Hong Kong Production.

Love it, can't wait to watch it without English subtitle or voice overs. Last sci-fi related movie in Cantonese I watch was in the 80's with the Hong kong VA voice dub of Nausicaa so this is going to be a real treat.

From all the glimpses flashing around the screen, I senses the vibes from, Tomorrow War, Edge Of Tomorrow, GI Joe, Robocop, Independence Day.

The plot was pretty cliché, but who cares? The robots, exo-suits, cgi, fight cinematics (particularly the choreography) were freaking amazing! Definitely watch this if you haven't seen it, you'll love it.

Their movies are usually very extravagant on paper but their dialogue and directing are bad. Most of their triple A titles are cheesy with overblown CGI.

Better effects than most big budget Hollywood sci fi movies, the action and fight scene is next level, story is somewhat predictable save humanity theme it was watchable and moves the movie along…must watch.

The armor is kinda how I wished edge of tomorrow was just like the manga.
Looks partly like a feature-length modern video game cinematic trailer. And I don't mean that as a bad thing personally. Regardless of the story, I'd love to watch it for the sci-fi action.

Just watched it myself and never heard of it, I was blown away. Hollywood needs to step up their game. This movie was a quarter of what Hollywood spends and it was beautiful, action packed, great CGI. Just surprised I never heard of it.

Didn’t know this film only cost $56 million to make!! HOLY crap. Look way better than $100+ million Hollywood garbage
Felt like a main dish without sides. Action set pieces are choreographed and look pretty good but flimsy plot and lack of character depth definitely brings it down a touch. Worth your time if you enjoy turn-off-your-brain action like me; if you like a little more detail and cohesive world building then you'll find this a tough slog. Still happy for Louis Koo that he got this out but hopefully he can improve on this if he decides to produce any future sci-fi projects.

Up until a few years ago I didn't have much interest in foreign films/series, but South Korea and Japan are putting out stuff that I just can't resist.

I love big, bold sci-fi and it's something Hollywood seems to have given up on (there are too many comic book movies) so it's great to see the Chinese movie industry invest into them. This looks brilliant and I hope it's a huge success. Can't wait to see it.

@Nicolas Pace mainland China had made some spectacular movies, they're probably just not you're kind of thing. One you will have heard of is Mulan, but not the silly Disney version. China has made many spectacular action movies in this genre of Chinese legends.
Hopefully Hong Kong movie will regain their glory once again like in the 80s and 90s.. i love hong kong movie..

This excelled in the vfx and action sequences. The dramatic inclusions, the attempt to have depth, and the story-telling were mediocre but it works for an action packed movie built to entertain. Also, the Evil Commander was so cliche he had one face for everything, be it mad, happy, amused, sad, desperate, cold etc. Name it! The dude had one face for a paycheck.
Finally Hong Kong decided to do SCI-Fi movies instead of those police movies 💀💀

@@GBenek I don't remember all the details, but there were some financial/legal problems, and at the end the movie was finaly ready to go, but nobody wanted it, so it just vanished, 1 of those production-hell movies, and now that it's finaly available I realy hope it's not hastely put together & total improvised shite

Looks like an updated combo of maybe transformers, pacific rim, edge of tomorrow, Appleseed, Starship Troopers, Jin Roh, Kill Zone for PS3 - PS5. I’ll still watch it. Wish it was on blu ray or in the theater with Fathom Events for the full immersive experience.
