Wow, what a blast from the past. I loved the SSI D&D games, especially the isometric RPG's such as Pool of Radiance and Curse of the Azure Bonds. Thanks Eltimar!
I remember as a young computer geek kid back in 1991 I tried to figure out how to play this game. It was so cool but I couldn't get past the first screen because I didn't know how to attack things.
I got a fun fact to share. In relation to the Baldur's Gate games, Eye of the Beholder's time period in the Forgotten Realms is 10 years before the first Baldur's Gate game, and one month after Bhaal's death.
@@EltimarGaming In your top left character's inventory (Eltimar's inventory), there is a paper called a commission and letter of Marque that reveals the Masked Lords of Waterdeep made that paper granting your characters permission to investigate and stop Xanathar on Marpenoth 5 the Year of Shadows (October 5th 1358 DR) and your characters set off to the sewers two days later. Bhaal died on Eleint 16 (September 16th).
Don't forget there are 3 parts of this game. It will be possible transfer 6 heroes in the next parts. And It's better to create single classes only. Paladin, fighter, cleric and mage was most useful. And if you like old rpg - try Betrayal at Krondor.
What I used to do is name the characters according to what class they're! So in game you'll know better to equip a fighter instead of a random named entity.
Thread necro. I played this on my Atari 1040ST computer. Also played Dungeon Master, the predecessor of Grimrock. Loving this and the Grimrock LP. Awesome.
Ah, this is nostalgia! I thought you could move using numpad or arrow keys? Should allow for some quick dodging. Also, you can stash daggers (and stones) in your belt slots & draw them automatically once you thow one, IIRC.
"This is probably one of the RPGS that gave birth to the RPG genre on computers". Ummm. No. RPGs have come out on PC since the early 70s. So, no. EOB is a great and a classic for sure. But, it was far from the dawn of rpgs.

The intro music wow; I did not ear it since like what 25 years... I played 1000+ hours of this on my first PC. a 486... thanks for the reminisce
You can dual weld you can hold a long sword, short sword or axe in the top hand and a short sword in the lower hand
Very underrated youtuber! Love how you played all the games I love minus Total war
Loved this game on my Amiga 1200.

That is actually really cool! I did not know that at all. Really cool fact! Thanks =)

I used to map the dungeons on square grid paper. It was fun until I entered a room of wolves and was lock in with them. Never got passed that!
2:58 That mustache...🤭
Excellent choice for an LP

Old memories. I loved this game.
I remember being a kid and putting/throwing an arrow into those weird wall runes

Yes. I am so excited.
Legend!

You don't have to use the navigation arrows. I think you can use the adws keys for movement.
It's a real shame you don't get more views
More views would be nice, but this is just a fun hobby. As long as some people are watching and enjoy them I am pretty happy =).
Respect to you mate, been watching alot of your videos recently and it's great content with some great games
I think it's funny, how nobody would have any idea what "dos" or cycles means. Even in 2018, most new viewers were born 20 years ago.
Do you see what I see
I remember liking pure classes more. I.e. pure mage, pure cleric, then fighter/thief (because you need a thief), plus paladin or something.
Pure classes tend to level up faster and are better at their roles, but multi-class characters have more versatility.
Hi Eltimar, have you played Elminage Gothic?
this game has no music o.o its so weird
can a ranger duel weild?
