  • I'm a cyclist and I live in the Pennines which means only one thing. It's hilly !
Today I set set off on a fantastic bike ride in my local hills with a few of my mates where the aim was to ride on some classic cycling roads and take on some iconic ascents around the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The nature of these undulating routes would always test the strongest of riders and after every climb the descents that followed would be fast and at times a bit on the scary side.
    So - Who are we.
We are a bunch of cycling enthusiasts who live in the foothills of the Pennines.
    Where are we.
We are based on the border between Lancashire and West Yorkshire not too far from the City of Manchester.
    What do we do.
We cycle to places in the North West of England in search of great cafes on some classic cycling routes.
    Why do we do it.
We do it because we are passionate about this great sport of ours and want share the moments with all you keen cyclist out there .
These videos come with a narration of the ride, maps and so much more, they will also give you an insight into group cycling and what to expect on a long ride such as this one.
Personally I hope they will offer you some inspiration and motivation to keep on cycling .

Thanks for the video as always Daz. Good to get some nice descents in like that, it's been a while since I've had the opportunity!. Plotted a couple of rides in the North Pennines that I didn't manage to do this year, hopefully next spring as there looks like some great descending

You can't beat a good descent Mark just so long as you make it down to the bottom safely.
Best of luck for 2022 with your cycling buddy. I guess we are always waiting for the next adventure.

Thank you Jason. I wasn't sure whether to play all the full footage of these descents because they do go for a bit, but if this is liked by the viewers I will make a few more like this.

Lovely that Bianchi Daz, Mike’s invested some serious dosh on that! My Bianchi Via Nirone is about 9kg.. so no wonder you chaps can hit those speeds and smash it up hills with all that kit! I’m going gravelling later though on my 13kg Specialized Hybrid my Triggers Broom. Keep up the good work on the vids, look forward to seeing how you get on with the Rapha 500.

The gravel bike should be fun John and yes I love the Bianchi it is a real head turner and very light. Let's see what the Rapha 500 brings this year too.

Hello Biking Cannon, if it is any consolation, I wore 4 pair of socks with over shoes yesterday and it wasn't enough lol. I had to call into my mum's on the way back and borrow some of my dad's old socks to complete the final leg !
All the best for 2022 buddy and keep on riding ..

Looked like a fantastic ride there buddy thanks for taking us along for the ride (virtually) those are some quick bikes and many motorists underestimate the speed of them .

There's some lovely bikes in the peloton nowadays and like you say the car drivers have no idea about how much ground we can cover in a short space of time on them. Hope you are still getting out too.

Another smashing ride Daz, love the amount of detail you put into the rides. Loved your last to rides with Mike, you have some great banter. Not been out for a while again, but doing plenty of Zwift, trying to complete some routes to get more familiar. You lads take care out their, have a wonderful Christmas and here's to a better year for cycling, cheers Alan.

Yes I know where you mean, there are some fast roads out that way when the wind is in the right direction and as for this route today it was a good one but a bit lumpy for some of the guys. Personally I'm not that bothered about the rolling hills because it goes with the territory around here .
