I'd love a video where you go through zippo books like that and show a lot of rare or unique types of zippos
I'd love to get my hands on one of these, would make a beautiful desk ornament, but you have to be very lucky to find one in good condition, with a front design that you like that's going for a reasonable price.
The lighter that is impossible to steal, no one can forget this brick dragging down your pocket.
Heya Jeff. Not to contradict you, but the cotton string in the base of the table lighter is accompanied by cotton batting and is intended not as a wick, but a means to transfer the fluid below the insert into the standard insert. The wick is currently fiberglass with copper wire intertwined within. The wicks of days gone by were another flame resistant material that's known to cause cancer. Cheers! Zip~
Thanks for the additional info :)
@@cutlerylover You bet Jeff! Happy Trails!
As far as what I collect. Well....look at my name lol. I've got 150+ in the current collection and it consists of any and all Zippo products with a focus on the 2032695 and Pat Pend years before the 2517191 patent. Also, many people gift me Zippo's, so there's a broad spectrum in the collection including a MIB Barcroft No.4, Lady Bradford, a couple Handy Lights, '32 collectible reissues, '35 versions, '37 versions also reproductions. Knives, Tape Measures, Pill Boxes, Magnifying Glass, Pens, Pen display case, ash trays and those huge obnoxious BIG Zippo copies. Pretty much anything Zippo has manufactured, I'll grab. Especially at rummage sales, flea markets and estate sales. Cheers! Zip~
I have a Ronson branded table lighter. When I found it I wanted to replace the wick and cotton. In disassembly, I found the cotton was actually some sort of fiberglass substance
I need a book review video on the Zippo book 😬
NEEEEAAAT. I love Zippos and plan on buying another one here soon.
I can tell that your favorite word is neat.
@@masonrains5010 back off dude he's like 12..
@@masonrains5010 Well its the thin line between meh and good. It's not to extreme but rather a subtle word to express emotion in small amounts.
Awesome! Thanks for this one!!!!
In the town I grew up in (Adelaide, South Australia look it up!) there was a tobacconists, 'Tunneys' been there since the 19th century amaaazing shop (sadly gone) bought a last model table lighter engraved 'for the light of my life ' it rocked!! Oh, death to Monsanto, nicelighter!
I've never heard of table lighters, cool find!
Never knew they existed. Cool collectable!
I want that to go in my collection
I picked up a bacardi zippy slim cool design etched into the front of the zippo
very interesting find !!!!
Does making an old making an old zippo work devalue them?
Cool brother..
I have a zippo money clip knives that's a company named MOBAY that made ZYKLON-B and those types of horrifying chemicals.. it was not though of a issue to advertise for chemical companies most likely the average Joe didn't even know.
Like like a magazine
I just bought a Barcroft # 4 with a PA.house of representatives emblem on it that says member .Just wondering if you ever seen one before?
I got a 5 barrel barcroft zippo table lighter the other day that has a "International union of operating engineers" insignia on it from Niagra falls NY ...what would u think one like that would go for price wise
Jeff, you very quickly bring up two things with me!
Firstly is your mention of people who didn't smoke and had ash trays around their house. It reminded me of some people who were absolutely indignant back when I was a kid because someone said they didn't allow smoking in their own home! Like, "What nerve! I've never HEARD of such a thing!" sort of offense.
Secondly, I've been considering a table lighter for my patio. I have occasionally looked at what sorts are floating around the internet for sale, but I'm largely undecided. Since you have more experience in this realm, do you have any specific recommendations? I was thinking soft-flame butane if possible, because reasons lol ... I prefer a soft flame, but since table lighter is not easy to use for a pipe, I guess it doesn't really matter.
Hey Jeff. Big fan of your videos. I recently found a four barrel zippo table lighter, the kind where the insert is the size of the table lighter itself. All the felt on the bottom. Would love to get your feedback on it!
Sure if you send a dm on instagram with some pics I could tell you what modal it is, thanks its cutleryloverjeff on instagram
Do a trick with it!!!!!
Zippo is the Victorinox of lighters.
You should do a video on an Arabic lamp (like the genie type)
that looks like a headstone to me
Will that lighter fall under zippo's warranty?
yes all zippo products do
but keep in mind if you sent a broken one in they would not be able to replace it or even fix it in so0me cases if they dont have the parts anymore, they would give you whatever was close to it they currently have...
@@cutlerylover good point
Oops! Now you're going to be obsessed with Collecting every make and model of table top lighters ever made in the world..🤣....
Monsanto gets a bad wrap. They do some really shitty things, but some of their GMO foods have saved thousands, if not millions of lives by allowing produce to grow in very dry arid areas. The CTO of Monsanto was friends with Norman Borlaug and together the two created corn and wheat that could grow in areas of Africa that were starving due to inability to grow crops in those conditions. That doesn't absolve them of some of the crazy crap they have done since, like file suit against farmers for harvesting plants from Monsanto seeds that blew on their land from neighboring farms... but they have still saved countless lives.
The name was so tarnished I think they merged with Bayer (like the aspirin company) they then dropped the brand completely...
you might end up on the news returning a ruler to your school years later
lol Il return it oenm day it woudlbe a fun day trip to go back and show Cristina my high school and Ill bring the ruler to return it haha
Jeff you should check out this kid that comments on your uploads every day he's taken a bite out of onion every day for almost 300 days that channel tobacco free catfish he says neat on every upload he's like 12 that's dedication!!!

@@cutlerylover your welcome he's unbelievable dedicated to this onion thing lol
Wait, theres a kid that comments on these videos and uploads himself eating an onion every day? Im intrigued.
@@rodbelding9523 yes dude for a long time his handle is tobacco free catfish/catfish free tobacco. Edit: he probably has 500 videos
@@rodbelding9523 youde never find it czcams.com/channels/4cz2suk5fhMWzx31BtR0rw.html
Lol, I could picture that lighter sitting in a smoke filled board room while Monsanto execs had this discussion.
Exec: So, our scientists have confirmed that exposure to agent orange orange causes cancer, and that it's being dumped on U.S. soldiers in Vietnam.
CEO: Cough, cough, ahem, gentlemen, lets keep that under wraps.
I love the statement "if you are pro environment" :D only in US you have actully people that not care about the environment. Its kind of funny and sad at the same :)
everyone cares about the environment, but there are 2 kinds of people, the kind that spend a lot of time trying to help the environment and the kind that like the environment but dont do anything specific to help it...Also its not a US thing people who live outsider the US tend to make statements like Americans do this or Americans do that but we have more diversity here than ANY country in the worlds theres nothing that all American do together at all...Not a single thing other than east sleep and crap...We couldn't be any different if we tried lol
Actually people here care more about it than many others. What's funny and sad is the widespread anti American sentiment.
@@Sheridantank I would believe that I know we also fork the bill when it comes to green living...Im all for the environment but we have to help ourselves before we can help the environment we live in, im also a firm believe we dont really effect the world as much as we think we do it will be here long after we all die just like it was here before we existed...If you actually believe in science you have to admit the earth will do whatever it wants without our permission lol everything ma made is from the earth as well so were not introducing anything new to it including exhaust gasses but im not expert thats just my opinion on the subject...Id rather focus on furthering the future of people than the trees but thats just me...
