Courtney LaPlante is clearly a boss in life and in her music.
Man the stuff thats come out in the last few months has been absolutely killer! Also, to make a fun joke out of it, she seems quite planted (grounded and well headed overall). 😀
41:43: "almost half of the people coming in now are woman that are interested in starting their metal careers". DAMN! that's so amazing to see the amount of female interest in learning heavy vocals in metal. much respect to them, and the talent and mindset of Courtney :)
Its a cool thing to hear for sure! I love variety
It's me. I'm a woman inspired to scream by Courntey enrolled in EVI now. You're both an inspiration. Thank you
Let me first start off by saying, i love this channel! Your work is amazing. Courtney is my all time favorite vocalist in the genre of “metal”. Above any man or female. A true inspiration. I can agree that people judge metal vocalist. I work in the electrical field surrounded by engineers and mechanics etc... when they found out I am the frontman of a hardcore out fit called Texas Cut Throat, they couldn’t believe it. Then they heard the music and all my power plant credibility went out the window lol. People just don’t understand nor try to understand what and why we do what we do. Because we love it. United we are !!
Thank you so much! We're so glad you enjoy the channel 🤘
Courtney touches on a lot of very relatable things in this conversation and judgment about being in a metal band is definitely something that many vocalists have come across. That's part of what we're working to change here by bringing education about metal vocals as an art form to the masses so we can blur those lines a little bit!
Have a good one! 😊
She is so wonderfully self-aware and articulate. Certainly a goal all artists should aspire for.
Oh god, I could have listened to this for hours and hours, didn't want this to end. Great conversation and good questions all through! Courtney is so cool, humble and down to earth and my favorite vocalist of all time. I really enjoyed this - thank you both so much, I really appreciate talks like this!
We really enjoyed this conversation too! We definitely want to have her back in the future 😊
@@ExtremeVocalInstitute Would be awesome! :)
loved this, it's super refreshing to hear the journey of coming into your own, I've often felt like I never really sounded even close to anyone I've listened to and it made me super self conscious when I was younger
Congrats on 70k!! And well deserved, I hope your channek continues to grow. You have been the greatest edition to guiding scream vocals since Melissa Cross. You are a master in your teachings. It's been great to watch and follow your journey over the years! Thank you #EVI
Courtney is probably my favorite vocalist. I love watching the live run of "Beauty of Suffering". Thanks for posting this!
ooh hype! I just found Spiritbox a few days ago actually - Courtney's story so relatable, "I was always the kid in choir but never got the solos" too lol. GREAT talk I loved this!
Nice! They seem to be gaining a lot of traction right now which is awesome considering the state of the industry right now. We thoroughly enjoyed this conversation with Courtney and we're looking forward to getting to chat with her again in the future 😊
@@ExtremeVocalInstitute I look forward to hearing! Just finished the whole talk and it was just so good, so inspiring. Loved it! Thank you so much for putting out this type of content.
Really great talk. Courtney is awesome. You guys touched on a lot of good topics.
I didn't want this go end. I really enjoy to listen to my second favourite singer
We’re glad you enjoyed it! We will definitely be having Courtney back again to talk in the future so it hasn’t ended, just paused for now! 😁
Damn! This was a great podcast David. Courtney is such a good vocalist and seems really down to earth and well spoken. This was a really good discussion. Looking forward to more of these if this is gonna be a regular thing.
We have done a few in the past! Just a matter of people’s availability 😊 A little bit easier now to work with schedules at the moment
David’s questions were so good and so engaging. I loved hearing Courtney’s story too
Thanks for watching! We hope to have Courtney back in the future! 😊
Thanks for putting this out there. I'm not a vocalist or anything, but this was very insightful.
Thanks for watching! There’s definitely a lot in here that’s applicable to anyone, not just vocalists. We really enjoyed the conversation and look forward to speaking with Courtney again soon! 😊
Vocal nerds at their best. Love them!
Completely new here, cause of Courtney tbh, but wow! An Interview in which I am a big fan of one of the 2 and still you both managed to be equally interesting! This was more like a Podcast, but then again mostly the comments label this as an interview. Really, really nice talk! Felt like 10 mins at most. Subbed for more!
We enjoy Courtney too so we totally understand 😂 Glad you enjoyed the talk!
Amazing video ! I’m just starting to wade into the waters of screaming and this video as well as your channel is so helpful. I can’t wait for more
Thanks for watching! 😊 Good luck with your vocal work!
So much of this is so relatable thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching! 😁
So glad this came up in my recommended! What a great interview
Hell yeah glad you enjoyed!
Omg I SO relate to when she said when she was new to screaming, she had no idea what was going to come out of her mouth. I just started dabbling in aggressive vocals and SAME.
Cool interview. I just discovered this band a week ago and was immediately impressed and am already a huge fan. Courtney's voice immediately grabs your attention but then you listen to the whole band and realise the immense talent. Thanks for this.
Also, Idk if you have been told this so it might just be me but l reckon you look like Taylor Hawkins but with dark hair haha.
They’re fun! We really enjoyed doing this talk with her and the direction that the conversation went in!
And Taylor Hawkins is a new one 😂
Amazing interview. Im so inspired to keep trying with my extreme vocals
Love to hear that! 🔥
The first female screamer I heard was Maria Brink from In This Moment, and I was blown by her killer screams! It is awesome to see more female screamers throwin’ it down! 👏👏👏👏😆
This was a high level interview thank you both
Thanks for watching!
Excellent! Can't wait for when Courtney comes back on. ;)
Us too!
Amazing interviewer and Courtney is an amazing person/singer also
She’s awesome! We’re so excited to see Spiritbox gaining so much traction. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you for this interesting and educating video.

Courtney is so chill, beautiful and talented How?
She’s pretty great! 😁
she's so cool
What a fantastic fucking interview! Great questions!

True OGs remember being pissed off when she replaced Krystal Cameron.
