For two years, I've been returning to this video whenever NEO is on sale. Well, you can now tell Spitfire that because of YOUR performance I just made the purchase. I don't know why, but there is always something about your performances that bring the life out of libraries like no other Simeon. Thanks again and happy playing. 🙏
That is so kind of you. That is why I never want to be known as a “review” channel because I do not feel that is really at the heart of what I do. I approach each instrument like a vehicle with its own personality and proclivity to where it wants to go. When I play the first notes the ignition is engaged and off we go, almost on auto pilot as I let the sounds I am hearing guide me on their journey. It is amazing to me some of the things that happen and causes me to be all the more grateful to have the opportunity to not only experience these amazing instruments myself but to bring all of you along to share the joy with me. So, thank you for making my day and giving me the encouragement to keep on taking these Joyful Journeys. Please send Spitfire a note and let them know your thoughts, it would mean so much more coming from you. Joyfully yours! 🤓
@@PraiseTracks "I approach each instrument like a vehicle with its own personality..." I can see that. And to me, it underlies simply being an authentic human being. That you are indeed Simeon. I'm sending Spitfire an email now... as I wait for the download. Cheers Simeon!
Your content is just... EXTREMELY, extremely, extremely impressive. Simeon, I've recently started watching your videos and livestream recordings, and I'm completely immersed in the atmosphere you create - it feels like you're telling a story while playing various instruments. Your videos are not just plugin reviews; they are like a whole narrative with your unique presentation. Simeon, I was incredibly inspired by your video on Albion NEO, but I can't seem to identify the piano sound from the beginning of the video. Could you please share what plugin that is? The piano in your video sounded amazing, and I hope to learn how to create something similar.
This was the perfect way to get my birthday month of May started! 🤓There is so much to unpack and appreciate in your kind comments but they sun up exactly how I want to represent the content on my channel. It is never about selling, hyping, persuading, you get the idea, my goal is to climb in to a library and just go, the cool thing is I invite you to come along. As far as the piano sound, I was using Spitfire’s ORIGINALS Felt piano which is love,y and linked it to the midi track playing a layer with ALBION NEO. I love layering keys with strings and pads. Have a wonderful day and again, thank you for putting that wind in my sails that will carry us into the next Joyful Journey.
@@PraiseTracks Thanks for sharing the piano sound from the beginning of your video, the sound was absolutely stunning! I hope you'll keep treating us to such inspiring and engaging content that lets us join your 'Joyful Journey'. Your work truly inspires and encourages us to participate in this musical adventure. I appreciate your creative energy and look forward to your next videos with anticipation. ❤
Simeon, your playing is awesome, your musicianship is in a whole other level and that is why all this libraries bright so much. I’m always looking for your demos because when you are in the zone man you can make us get lost in your art. Having said that, I really like this library, it sounds very different and full, and with current winter sale (50% discount on this one) going on at Spitfire it’s just hard to hold my impulse to get another library.
My pleasure, I am so glad you have been enjoying the channel. I never know exactly what might happen during one of the livestreams as the sounds just influence me so much. Stay tuned for more 😎
I'm not particularly a fan of the brass and winds in Neo, but the strings alone are worth the cost of entry. Beautiful, delicate, divisi options, and lots of interesting and unique articulations not typically found even in dedicated strings libraries, let alone an ensemble library. The Segla Textures and Steam Band instruments are also stellar. It's a great addition to Albion One or their Symphonic Orchestra with some more intimate strings recorded in the same space.
Justin, yes, the strings are the definite stars here. It is so good to have these smaller sections as they bring out something very special. Thanks so much for watching. All the best.
I love your videos, they are always very entertaining and inspiring. I wanted to see more about Albion Neo, so this was great. The textures and strings are absolutely stunning. Among the Albions I think Neo and Tundra are my favorites and complement each other perfectly. But Solstice is incredible as well. Also you have a great singing voice!
Another wonderful demo/walk through Simeon. I truly loved every minute of it as I do all of your videos. Your playing and presence is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your immense talent - you bring so much joy to so many of us.
Anthony, what a wonderful way to start the day reading your kind comment. I am so glad you enjoyed watching and so appreciate the kind support. Joyfully!
Thanks so much, that is so kind. Support like yours makes me so excited to continue to share these adventures with all of you. Get ready for more travels soon. All the best.
Tony, yes, there are a lot of moving pieces in the setup but it is actually fairly straightforward using OBS Studio. The controller is a first gem Korg nanoKONTROL. I have it mapped through Bome MIDI Translator, so I can use it for MIDI mapping as well as for OBS Hotkeys. The hotkey setup uses Coyote MIDI, that takes the MIDI from the nanoKONTROL and translates them into keyswitches that are sent to OBS for the scene switching. Thanks for watching, and I am so glad you are enjoying the channel. All the best.
@@PraiseTracks yes, I am enjoying your channel, your demeanor and outlook. I knowany people just use Streamdeck to do unlimited shortcuts combining obs and all the DAW controls, but can also be used for Photoshop, illustrator and word. If you haven't looked at it, it may simplify your setup.
@@tonyr.4778 Yes, I have thought about picking up a Stream Deck, I have such limited space but I think I might have found the perfect spot for one ;^) Thanks so much for the feedback and kind support.
I also am using a GoPro Hero 4 (I know), but am hoping to upgrade my camera as the channel continues to grow. It is being captured through an Avermedia Live Ganer HD2. I had tried using Elgato's Camlink but could never get it to work consistently with my computer. Having the PCIE card is so much better. I also use the Logitech c922 webcam for my overhead keyboard shot.
Thanks Thomas, the application is called MIDIculous Pro from Gospel musicians. I have a link to it in the video description. It is a very powerful and useful program. Thanks so much for the kind support.
Simeon, I didn’t know how to contact so I’m writing here. Do you have the Grand Brass by Spitfire Audio yet? I know it was just released. Are you doing a vid on it? I won’t click add to cart until I hear your take on it. You are my guide on these things!
Thanks so much Jack. I saw your other comment on the piano (it seems to have been removed). I will see if I can pull the project back up and see what I was using. Also, I checked out your channel, some magnificent arrangements my friend. Joyfully! 🎹
Jack, I pulled up the Albion NEO project I used for the livestream and the piano I was using is the Spitfire Originals Felt piano (one of the best I think). BTW: another comment was removed but I added you as an "approved user" so hopefully future comments will come through. CZcams is frustrating in the heavy-handed filtering, I hope it will get better. Thanks again for all of the kind support.
damn im pissed i didn't get this and i got albion one. its so stale, lifeless and almost fake sounding compare to this. The percussion is great but i think the rest of the library sucks compared to this
@@PraiseTracks do you prefer this or solstice? it seems like solstice has more to offer, the acoustic guitars and bells sound so good but neo has alot of string options. Solstice has flautando as well right?
It depends. NEO really focuses on capturing a very unique chamber sized string section. It was also recorded at AIR Studios so it will have a nice ambience about it. Solstice was recorded in a smaller, “drier” if you will studio and is approaching things to also create its own unique sound world. I would say Solstice is more “earthy” while NEO is a little more spacious, icy and “airy”, I will have to pull them up and see what I hear.
