- Erie County sheriff's deputies arrested Sandusky police Officer Kenneth Gautschi, 46, Sunday night after he allegedly drove over the speed limit while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Gautschi also allegedly improperly had a gun in his car, and hit a deputy's cruiser with his handcuffed hands.
He’s not upset because he’s drunk.
He’s upset because he got caught.
No, that’s not even it. He just realized at that very moment that he’s really a fat slob and an unemployed fat slob at that. 🤣 and he cries a lot. 😭

well the alcohol had a lot to do with his emotions..
I think I just found my new favorite video genre, cops arresting cops.
The driver had the option of participating in the field sobriety test.
That could have been the end of it.
Same my friend SAME😂😂❤
@bobpaulino He didn't want to take the fst because he knows they're designed so that they're basically impossible to pass if the officer has already decided you're too intoxicated to drive. Which, while definitely a good thing that they're getting drunks off the road, those tests need to be redone. Have you seen the one the boat cops in Florida are using with patting your hands a certain amount of times and holding your fists to your chest in a certain fashion? They're beyond ridiculous. I would wager that most sober people would never be able to pass them. Sorry I don't have a link but they should be fairly easy to find with a quick search.
That's all a fine and dandy excuse but doesn't dismiss that these cops were driving drink. @@Cruiser-tb5zc
@@Cruiser-tb5zcNot true at all. Every state has a set of FST's that each officer must follow to the letter. And as far as I know, most states are identical. For instance, I was a cop in Ohio and move here to North Carolina after I retired. North Carolina and Ohio have the exact same policy on conducting FST's, HGN, and PBT during a potential DUI/OVI stop. Anything else isn't only not admissible in court but its also against policy.
I guess what Im trying to say is that unless you have some sort of disability or impairment (aside from drugs or alcohol), you will be able to pass standard FST's as the HGN and PBT are not mobility based tests. They are designed specifically for that purpose.
I have a feeling this guy isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer even when he's stone cold sober.

All my respect for this officer. Completely professional and impartial.
Impartial? He comforts the criminal and allows him to ride up front in the cruiser. You think he does that with Reggie the drug addict?

Thank you, officer, for not backing down and sticking to the rules even though he was a fellow officer. Thats terrible. Im not sure where your from but im in CT & we have many cases of officers driving drunk & causing serious accidents or death to innocent drivers on the road. It very rarely gets talked about unfortunately. I know someone whos an attorney & she told me about several local cases & I had never heard of them. Just so sad & so easily avoidable which makes it all the more frustrating.
He only arrested him because of the body cam. If it wasn't recorded my bet is he would have drove him home.

@@footballfan7771You know he would have been let go if it weren’t for the body camera
That’s because before body cams, he would’ve had his keys taken away, an Uber or taxi called, and he’d go to the precinct the next day with a hangover to retrieve his keys. Body cams have changed everything. I am a former cop and while I didn’t have much time on..I am just happy to be out of that line of work.
99% of DUI/OVI suspects swear they're ok to drive, and insist they're being done wrong when they're arrested, he's no different because he's a cop. One of the reasons for this is that the impairment itself makes people unable to realize how impaired their driving is. This guy probably believed he was able to drive just fine, at least while he was intoxicated, and legitimately felt the other cops were being pricks. The real question is, what were his thoughts about the arrest and how did he react once he was sober.
Yo innit. There's another one. Brian filipiak look him up
I had 4 friends hit by a drunk driver pulling out of a dairy queen our senior year. One of them passed away on scene. 5 years later 5 more high school friends were hit by a drunk driver coming from a college football game and our community lost all 5 of them. The suburban they were in flipped over and blew up. I absolutely dispise alcohol even now at 42. But I don't "hate people" that do drink. At least be responsible about it. Get a designated driver, call a cab,an Uber, hell walk if you have too! Idc if you gotta pass out in your own piss behind a dumpster! But for the love of God don't try to judge your own sobriety and take a chance on not only your own life but the general publics lives! ESPECIALLY AS A L.E.O! So I have no empathy for an officer blubbering like a baby over his career when my friends never even got a chance at a career
Yet weed is totally outlawed in many states and they haven’t caused any vehicular casualties
Don't forget he also had a loaded gun which is a felony on its own. Being drunk and in possession of a loaded gun is a felony.
I had 4 friends touch themselves in a DQ bathroom and got banned

This scares me….
He knows his life is pretty over now. He's in horrible pain and all alone. I was married to an alcoholic and when he finally hit rock bottom it was the saddest thing to witness. Hopefully this guy gets help.
May I ask what was his Rock bottom.
I was to and he was a cop , he never drank on the job but I'll bet he was still intoxicated in the morning when he went to work , his rock bottom was phn harassment, the people pressed charges he was told rehab or loose your job , he quit for 5 yrs and started again , that's when I divorced him , I wasn't going through that hell again.

If it's the weekend even if you can bail out, wont process till Monday. Most states is 30-90 days dui. Most places I've worked 48hrs, no call no show your out of a job or career. Look at cops though. Everyone from work knows where you are if you get a dui. Wont miss work if your there just not clocked in. Plus USA federal law requires that if anyone reports with drug or alcohol problems to their work and seeks treatment they have to legally keep their job. Of course your deptmartment better employ atleast 2 employees to be legal. So get pulled over and tell them you need treatment. In no other job could you EVER get away with that. A Police Officer pulled over the Deputy sheriff's,maybe the outcome of the situation would have been a little different. Maybe the radio, audio and tape recording would not been had worked as well in that particular time:). Good Comment.

They do everything in the book too defuse the situation,I hope they do it even if it is a civilian next time. Thanks.
Not entirely true, he immediately asked his supervisor to public service (phone call) him when he's walking back to the car at around 0:50, and then he shuts off his body camera for the conversation. He doesn't like being treated like a regular citizen, how does it feel.
Vince Bella It’s not that. He knows he fucked his life and career up. Most people would cry especially in an intoxicated state.
This is definitely not being treated like a regular citizen. He was still charged, as he should be charged, but he had many priveleges granted to him because he is a cop.
@DARK OVERLORD hahahahahah. you made my night
Honestly he still got treated better.
Vince Bella Yep🤣😂
It's pretty scary that this guy ever had authority.
What makes you think he lost his job?
Disagree.
This jerk is full of swagger until he finally realizes he's not going to get away with it, and starts blubbering. Whats disturbing is that one of the Officers falls all over himself telling the guy he has no choice but to treat him like everyone else. How about, just once, standing up for the INTEGRITY of your Department and realize that drunk driving Police Officers are a detriment? That this jerk brought it all on himself!
I was hit by a drunk driver and I am permanently disabled. I feel zero sympathy for a LEO who KNOWS better and who has seen the horrific things that can occur from drunk driving. How dare you!?
Dude found every possible way to work “I’m a police officer” into the conversation. And then seemed genuinely confused that he wasn’t being given the “good ole boy” treatment.
Gross.
have you ever drunk alcohol before? not saying it’s an excuse but wtf did you expect his drunk ass to do 😂😂
@@AK76 not drive at all and call an Uber.
@@ericaschaidt8588 We should always preach that, but unfortunately it's not realistic.

Not really. He was saying that police officers are required to carry loaded weapons.
This drunk cop's attitude of privilege is sickening. If he wasn't a cop, he'd have been cuffed and tested within seconds.
cop or not u have the right to refuse a test
@@OLIVER_40 Yeah, then they arrest you if they already have reasonable suspicion you're DUI and have admitted drinking.
He admitted to it and anyone can refuse, 1 he already admitted, and 2 they can take blood
@Jamie Alonzo yea I know I never said he wasn't supposed to get arrested yea it sucks but that's just the fucking law. almost got my second DUI last week..... @CrStrifey
I disagree he would have been cuffed within seconds. The deputy appeared to be alone. The driver was a big, drunk, trained law officer who had a firearm nearby and could have resisted arrest. The arresting deputy properly de-escalated the situation. Was there empathy between the officers? I think so. However, the deputy wanted to go home without fist-fighting a bigger, drunk driver.
The other officer was being way too nice to this guy considering he is a officer of the law driving under the influence of alcohol.
Wow ! Talk about special treatment ! Everyone else gets their vehicle towed. The one cop was fairly straightforward, the 2nd one was the city cops friend and protector. Easy to see !
"Your not doing it right."
"Oh really. How's it supposed to be done?"
"Hold my beer."

I respect these officers because they treated just like everyone else. We need more cops like them.
They had to. On camera
Makes me wonder how he treated people who were in a similar situation .
Typically, bullies who have no empathy for others when they are on the receiving end breakdown like he did 🤔
I got treated worse than that for having a license plate light burned out.
Different department, different policies, different officer. Quit being an anti police dipshit
@@tacticaltonyow Now now, no need for that kind of language. Nobody said anything about being "anti police" dude.

The first cop on the scene did such a great job. You can hear the absolute disgust in his voice every time he speaks to that drunken loser but he kept his emotions under control and still treated him with respect even though the drunk kept telling the officer he didn’t know what he was doing.
I wasn't sure but thought I remembered this Officer's Voice. The first one, I mean. I googled Sandusky and sure enough it's in Ohio. I've seen a few other videos with this Police Officer in them. He's pretty good.
He sounds like an especially good cop. I didn't care too much AT ALL for the second one, he didn't seem to care at all.
You can't talk to a drunk or a cop he's both 😊
@@CJM-rg5rtthe second one sounded more sympathetic towards the driver which to me was unprofessional…
If you can hear the disgust in his voice then he didn't do that great of a job.
He was behaving badly from the first moment.....arrogant and attempting to belittle the officers and boasting his own skills and standing! He was crying because he realized his show of "authority" wasn't going to get him off the hook. He, of all people, should know how to control his alcohol consumption and arrange to get rides home. He claimed he was worried about his career....well, he sure wasn't worried when he got drunk and decided to drive. He also wasn't worried that THESE guys both have a career to uphold, and they did a great job of handling this difficult person.
The Police Officer was very professional in his duties. The only thing is, on his days off, he better stay the hell outta Sandusky!
He’s weirded out in the beginning because he’s wondering why the cop isn’t letting him off easy for being a cop. Sickening.

The reason he was “babied” is because as an officer, chances are he has a firearm at the ready and the officer was keeping a situation from escalating.
fred patzold I’ve been stopped while I have my firearms on me, and even if legally I don’t need to inform an officer of my status, I do it as a courtesy. All they’ve asked is to see my Carry Permit and it’s location and one time, I told them my wallet was in the console with my weapon and they told me just me to place it on the seat while they ran my license. Yup. Alcohol is one of, if not the worst "drug"on the planet. This video further proves that opinion. Unfortunately I know from experience..🤮
