Was quite impressed on what Cub have done with their Hybrid caravan.
You are not going soft , it’s sensible.
Can’t wait for your ‘Kimberly’ video. ❤
As always another great video Harry. Can't wait for the Kimberly trip! Going soft, but I think we all get there over time and enjoy those creature comforts ;-)
Fantastic walkthrough of your new camp trailer. Can’t wait for your “Kimberley” episodes. Looks like your family is already enjoying the new van, have fun and love your cooking.
"Kimberley" Great vid Harry, love the walkthrough of your 'van. Well thought out setup. I like the fact that a 5"11" person can still move around [reasonably] comfortably while the van is "unpopped". Greetings from Perth, West Australia. Cheers, Frank.
Awesome mate, some familiar hardware and components there. No doubt this will transform the level of comfort and convenience for you and the family.
All the best with the upcoming trip and here's hoping we'll see you out on the tracks sometime!
Enjoy the Kimberly trip. This looks amazing! Thanks again for the video.
Thanks for the in depth look at the van Harry, I keep coming back to this video for another look. I dropped my deposit yesterday for our H16. Now to wait for delivery.
Cub have done well with this, and its awesome to see them progressing into a new market. Enjoy the new level of comfort with the family!
Really nice van Harry. Were looking at hybrids so really appreciate the review 👍
Nice van, excellent run down, look forward to seeing the Kimberley trip video!
Ours coming soon too. Bloody excited. Nice walk through.
Looking forward to ours arriving and a trip to the Kimberley… keep up the great work mate.
Great van, My dream setup. Hopefully we'll see more family trips.
Can't wait to see the Kimberley trip. Thanks for the comprehensive review.
Kimberly. Looking forward to future trips with the new camper.
You'll love the Kimberley, hope you and the fam enjoy it and I look forward to the vids from up there. Cheers.
Thanks for the walkaround. Very interesting to see the details. Looking forward to another video when you get to the Kimberley. We don’t mind whether you do van or cooking videos, they’re all fabulous 👍
That’s a great looking unit, you should have a blast in my back yard, the Kimberley, can’t wait to see the video from that trip
Kimberley.
That looks to be a quite capable unit, nice.
Love your work Harry.
I really enjoyed my trip through the Kimberley. It seemed that every time I went around a bend in the road, there was another magnificent vista.
I won't bring up how soft you've gotten since I'm just about there myself. I've been shopping around for an egg crate foam topper for the mattress in my AT Summit (pop up wedge camper shell).
I hope you'll share some of the trip up north. The scenery is stunning.
Recuperating and found this channel. Thank you for your sharing. Looking forward to your Kimberley video
Good review, van look practical. Also can’t wait for your ‘Kimberly’ video
Watching this channel gives me shed envy 👌
Enjoy the Kimberley. Great to see the H16 packed and in action!
Awesome, thank you! Getting so excited for our delivery 😊
@@effkay3691 it has 4.5m Fiama manual awning, as Harry said he would love a wrap around.
@@sue-ellenskinner954 As an owner of an old beloved Cub Drover the awning is the pain of my camping life. I wonder if you can fit those wrap arounds after market.
I have a wrap around on my car and I prefer the Fiama on the Cub for camp
Love this episode, looking forward to seeing your trip to the Kimberley, it would take me a fair while to get there from Canberra so I’m not sure it’s on the cards for me but I’d love to go one day
Good walkthrough the Cub, quite impressive for a pop top that has a lot of fruit.
That was a good outcome for you with Redarc, at least when you head into the ‘Kimberley’ you’ll have no concerns about your power needs.
🥘
Have a great time in the Kimberley! We still love our Cub Scout, but looking at the H14.
Kimberly
Cubs really are a great camper we have a drifter & works great with 3 young kids
Great review, great van, thx.
Harry, i hope you read this. I have a diesel heater tank on my camper and i had an algae problem after not using it for a year. After cleaning etc, i chucked a bottle of fuel doctor in. Had 0 problems same diesel in in there 2 years.
Fuck i love that kitchen haha
Great review and great information around redarc quality these days, definitely other equivalent/better options available!
Hi Harry, Gnagarra Pines, Yes well, all said I guess. We used to operate a geomagnetic observatory (about 60yrs) there but ended up having to move it out the gravity Discovery Centre. Enjoy the Kimberly with the family when you get there.
The random way you packed and used your storage/cupboards I must admit I had to look away. Once I saw your tools it sent me over the edge.😮
Great vid mate, love your barbie, tight lines 👍👍👍
Great walkthrough. That camper…🤌
Very nice van! Enjoy the Kimberley!
Kimberley - love the setup, keen for full shakedowns
Thanks Max.
Love the Kimberley…such a beautiful part of our magnificent state 💞
Awesome review, like to see it in the Kimberley, love to see it on the thousand dollar track.
Kimberley, really enjoyed video as looking at get a van, good options
I worked in the Kimberley for 3 years and am looking forward to seeing it at a lot slower pace
Looking forward to watching your Kimberly trip in the Camper
Kimberley. My wife and I are very interested in a Cub. Thanks for the videos
Kimberly, looking forward to seeing those vids
You said the price and my balls started to hurt... sick rig though. I see where the money went. Looking forward to seeing a Kimberley Trip.
These vans look great haven’t seen them in the flesh but they look solid .Id probably go for the H14 though as it’s just my partner and I but thanks for sharing.
Kimberly
Fantastic looking van, if you keep or it lasts for 10 years it is only 13k per year which is a good return for the ease of use and comfort.
The Kimberley in July will be spectacular, don't forget your flynets, they are particularly savage after a wet spell.
Looking forward to the Kimberley trip release
@firetofork also a great bonus, Usually the Aussie made stuff has a better quality which enables a great resale
It won't be $13K / year for 10 years, as you wouldn't sell it for $0. Say you got $60K for it when you sell it (~less than 1/2 the new price), then it'd be more like $7K/year...
I have always wanted to do the " KIMBERLEY " area, cannot wait for the episode.
Great tour of the caravan. Do love the Cub campers. I'm going to say something controversial here. A caravan isn't really camping, it is more of a mobile holiday home. Don't get me wrong you can still get to some really nice places, but it is still a holiday home. Looking forward to your Kimberly trip.
With you. Had/have a forward fold camper, me love sleeping under the canvas wife wanted ensuite. (Maverick RangerAir for sale) have a pop top now so easy but not the same.
With the anderson plug amperage, a 50A Anderson plug is rated for 50A hot connect/disconnect. The plug itself is rated for 120A. So you don’t need to be worried about that.
Nice van 👌
Never been up north , Kimberley sounds like a great place to start..
Love the van mate.
Kimberly
Back in 2015 I took my Cub Brumby up to the Kimberley. No dust ingress and built like the proverbial BSH. Can't beat Aussie made
Kimberley definitely a good way to spend longer away n have that extra comfort n convenience
Nothing soft about having the set up that best suits your needs.
We're in the very early stages of looking for a similar set up.
We've currently got a soft floor camper that takes way to much time to set up and pack down.
The only thing stopping us is we have a tinnie on the camper and there's no current hybrid that will take a tinnie.
Looking forward to the Kimberly trip.
I agree, especially having a bad back, bedding and comfort is critical. I camp with tents at the moment. Dam it takes so long to set up camp even longer to packup, hate it. have been playing around with swags to over come the setup/packup time. But if you saw the size of the swag after getting the bedding right, man you all would laugh so very hard at me, especially trying to roll it up (Star fish body shape was one description I had, haha). Have been looking at dual folding campers (opus4 & cub). Like this van and the H14. Just the pricing of the duel folding Cub or these vans is killing me, but love the quality and features. Especially over the Chinese manufactured Opus. Still saving. in 35 years or so I might be able to get one lmao !
@@darrensmith4661 yeah it's a brutal price to pay for some convenience, comfort and no longer having to go full "starfish" mode to pack up lol
" Kimberly " Great rig.😊
That'll be great for a trip to the Kimberley
Love it.want one
Have a great trip to the KIMBERLEY 😊
Would have been great to include the underside. What is protected, what is exposed, things which hang low, etc. These are generally the first points of weakness when it comes to an offroad van.
A word of advice, never wind out your awning if you are not prepared to peg it down. I’ve seen too many gusts come out of nowhere. Also seen a number of awnings ruined after they blow over the roof, not good.
Hi Harry. With your inside table issue. Maybe you just need a top that folds in half when not in use.
Just a thought 🤷🏼♀️
Great van to take to the Kimberley
Thanks for sharing Harry 🙏 If all goes well, we'll pick ours up at the end of this month. I wanted to ask if you know what your tow ball weight was for the trip? It looked like you had a fair bit of kit in the van so it would be interesting to know. All the best 👍🏻
Does that go with beer ? And did you cook it on the campfire ?
Great video and report Harry .. wave on your way past to the KIMBERLY .. 😅
You mentioned a cutlery package you had possibly got from amazon .. do you have any more details please??
"Kimberley" trips be incredible in this
Awesome rundown of the van. Won’t be nice and white anymore after a trip to the Kimberley! Can you use the compressor for the air suspension to inflate the van tires if you’ve needed to air them down?
I've always wanted to get up to the Kimberley....
Good show Harry getting hungry now what are you doing for lunch, dinner
Awesome walkthrough. Can't wait for Kimberley trip!
Was Cam W the cameraman for this episode?
Does it go well with beer? 🍺 Excited to see the Kimberley trip
Yes I am annoyed lol 🙂 would save so many arguments lol :-) Enjoy all your videos and thanks for sharing all your info 🙂 No I'm not a cook, I get hubby to do most of it.... 👍
Nice camper van mate, ever thought of getting a Stone Stomper between the car and camper? They’re worth the weight in gold
Kimberley - Where does Fred sleep in the Cub? Our 50kg dog takes up all the floor space in our caravan and positions himself blocking the diesel heater for the rest of us.
😂😂fred loves the cold so he avoids the heater vent and sleeps on his mat in front of the bathroom
Hi Harry, we have a 16 foot pop top and struggling with the mattress included - you mentioned yours was 135mm inner Sprung Mattress with Latex Pillow Topper (23rd Minute) - did that come with the Cub or can you buy them somewhere retail? Love your shows and my wife has done many a recipe from cook book!!! Andrew
This mattress is soooo nice. It came standard with the van. But there are lots of pillow topper brands that sell good additions to crappy mats
So tell us Harry, why would you rather a c16 or l16 for a round Aus trip that may include the Kimberley’s?
i no that pine plan tashon hahah good old Gnangara Pines
Tekton SVX-4 is very comparable but allot lighter arguably higher specifications worth a look for interest. Safe travels
It is lighter, because it’s much smaller. Nice van but I have 2 kids, so would’t work for us, and around $40k more for similar spec.
That van looks like it's got everything you would ever need and comfortable. caravaning these days is a rich man's game. I suppose if you're a soft grey nomad, you can afford things like that. You're going to be living in luxury in Kimberley.
Off-road vans are the expensive bit. If you can afford to tow something heavy and on-road you can get a bargain
Does water get in through the starlink pass through when the cable is run through it?
What would be the RRP on the CUB as you’ve built it?
Awesome setup. Can you do a review on the My Coolman stuff at some stage please?
Awesome walkthrough.
Q: those wooden drinking cups. Where did you pick those up from?
@@firetofork checking now and I couldn’t find them. Any chance you can attached the link to this message? I will buy a couple
Why do they make you stand for 40 seconds holding down a momentary switch to put the top up if it automatically stops at the top? Safety in case something catches along the way I suppose.
Cow fish make a 12v power box thinge for star link instead of the inverter
5.11, I'm 6.4. The Kimberley would feel gigantic to you.
Hi Harry loved the walk around and the van looks good as. Love how much power in and capacity it has.
Just had to search how tall you are. 6.07 feet is 185cm mate don’t think you’re as short as you think. I’m 194cm I was genuinely confused
Can’t wait to see this thing in the Kimberley. Are you taking the kids also?
I’m only 180cm, so technically a tiny bit off 5’11”! No kids up there, just the boys
FRED!!
love the van, have a great Kimberley trip!
ps. you're a soft kent aye
Great van, tho 130k is too much. Look forward to it your Kimberley trip in it
Kimberley camping how good
Hi Harry, if you are worried about the diesel going stale or algae blooming, throw some Fuel Doctor in it and into the tow buggy. Perfect for all those outback fuel stops when you are remote in the ‘KIMBERLEY’. Cheers Chris 🍻
Enjoy your trip to the 'Kimberley' camping with your Cub H16 Bunk van.
