    Well filmed. What a missed opportunity in terms of design. It looks more like a cheap factory warehouse than an Airport. What were the architects thinking? So many amazing new designs around the world. This isn’t one of them.

      Aircraft have got significantly quieter compared to those flying 30 years ago. Not saying there won't be an impact but it will be much less disruptive than what you experienced. Also consider that the location was first proposed for the 2nd airport in 1969 and officially announced as the location in 1986 (construction first began in 1992). At that time Badgery's Creek and surrounds had little to no residential housing, instead it was nearly all small farms. Developers and people who have chosen to build and live in the area in the last 38 years have done so with full knowledge the 2nd airport was going to be built there. If you had lived there before 1986, you would have grounds for complaint. If you moved there after 1986 you knew what was planned.

      Airports that are being built in Europe and all other places already have good, sustainable links to them. Western Sydney Airport does not. More money has to be allocated to all sorts of things. An airport is an airport. You like it or you don’t, look at the inside renders. They are comparable to some in Europe, don’t judge an airport based on the exterior looks.

    11 billion dollars and they came up with an airport design that ugly and basic? Jesus its like looking at an airport from the 1960s. Modern Airport gates are usually built 'around ' and feeds into the main terminal , not sitting side by side...this is just crazy stupid🤦‍♂️

    • @FlightEagle
      @FlightEagle Před 21 dnem +5

      Agree. While it may be functional (yet to be seen how well), the exterior design is about as basic and ugly as you could possibly conceive. Perhaps the interior will make up for it. With the excellent architectural design and aesthetics that has been seen in the new Sydney Metro stations, it makes you wonder how our 2nd international airport design got approved looking so blah + meh (nouveau critique terminology).

    The people of Newscastle and Wollongong will be the biggest loser for Western SydneyAirport. They have to stay overnight in Sydney for their oversea holiday, it will take 4-5 hours to get home by train, it like heading to Canberra from Sydney😂. You can see why it take the government 40 years to make the final decision for the new Airport. there is no alternative .

      If anything WSI is going to help the problem since it will me a 24/7 airport, therefore giving people the ability tocatch those last few trains of the night and get a scheduled flight around the same time. Now what they need to do is introduce better nightly service apart from the hourly night rides in the Sydney Metro area that don't even stop at every station. If we can get at least a similar service for the intercity lines and the new metro line then it will allow people in Wollongong and Newcastle the ability to travel through the public transport dead times and see them avoid getting a short flight to sydney for a higher cost.
