Part of Connors ascendancy was his mouth and character, but he was good. He wouldn't have made it to the top without being good.
No one that fought him, would swap their fight. He was the biggest payday many fighters had whether they won or lost.
He brought more viewers not just to the UFC but to MMA. The sport is better for him having been there. It's okay to dislike him but for people to act like he was crap is disingenuous and wrong.
Khabib himself like every fighter is rated for people he beat. You can't say Kabib was the best or even good and then suggest his opponents were weak.

Khabib is awesome. Very few people understand what Connor really was. Connor was a guy who liked to fight and run his mouth. But trash talking elevates an opponents game not the opposite. There's a great story about Larry Bird told by just about the entire Atlanta Hawks team he faced in game 7 of semifinals in the playoffs. A hawks player said to another with Bird standing near with 10 minutes to go "dont let this bitch score". Bird would average 2 points per minute after that scoring 20 to government the Celtics the win and series. I know any time I've personally been in any contest with another person if they shit talk it makes me nearly unbeatable. My best story was back in my pool playing days going to a bar and some guy had held the table for awhile and there were many quarters up and when I put mine down he said "you just going to throw away your quarters". We'll I dint he was still on the table when mine came up, which was what I was hoping for, and I removed him from the table. Now with the shoe on the other foot when he put his quarter up I used his exact same line and sat him down again. And yes I know fighting isn't basketball or pool but the point is still true. Trash talking doesn't negatively effect all people and cause them to make mistakes they normally wouldnt.

He has ethics, morals, dignity, integrity and faith in the Almighty...alhumdillah.
You won't see him chasing women getting drunk and causing trouble. Unlike alot of his counterparts.
May Allah keep.him and his family safe at all times ameen

Really….. he started the Conor rivalry by calling him chicken over and over, putting down his country, attacking his his teammate….. always put down Tony calling him “crazy” and “stupid” …. Laughed hysterically at a homeless guy doing pushups incorrectly…. Attacked the audience in an uncontrollable fit of rage….. always bragging that everyone in not on his level…… this is what you call a role model….. you would never see actual respectable fighters like Whitiker, Morano, GSP, Machida or Wonderboy ever act like that guy…… much better examples of role models.

I woulda seen him more of a role model if he hadn't just retired without actually testing himself the way a true great does which he certainly had the potential to be. Now we'll never know how he woulda responded to various types of challenges. That's from a fighting perspective obviously, personally i'm undecided if being a role model for ethics / morals etc should be anything to do with fighters.
