    There's a typo in the video having to do with the grit of sand paper used. In the video I typed "500 grit" for the second piece of sand paper I used when it was actually 1500 grit. so the order of sanding went as follows: 800 grit wet, 1500 grit dry/wet, 3000 grit dry, and finished off with the polish.

      @@Aussiedave54 I believe the fourth generation Honda Accord was the last one with glass headlights. Plastic is cheaper to manufacture I guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    how long is "the longest"?

      I think you are reffering to how long this method of restoration will last, and that all depends on several factors. How often do you drive? In what conditions? a lot of bugs? a lot of dirt, sand? A lot of snow etc... I filmed this video in 2020 and the headlingts were still clear in 2022 when I sold the car. So at least a couple years for me.

    Don't you have to spray a clear coating on ?

    • @Projectlalo
      @Projectlalo  Před 2 měsíci +1

      So for this particular kit, no. The steps the kit says to follow are exactly as shown in the video. Clear coating is another method by which you could restore your headlights. However, it’s very easy to screw up with clear coating. Prep is everything and if the surface isn’t properly sanded and completely cleared of contaminants then there will be issues. The diy-er could also be too heavy handed with it and get bubbles or runs in the clear coat. It’s a bit harder to do and required more finesse and skill than doing it with a kit like I showed. The results will be about the same if done properly. The longevity of the “repair” will also vary depending on how well it is done with the clear coat. The type of clear coat used also matters. This kit works very well and the results are some of the best I’ve seen and the longest lasting. If I threw a ceramic coating on top it would be even better and longer lasting. There’s a lot of ways to do this. This is just one method.

      Looks great. As others have mentioned, you also should apply the UV protectant spray to keep it looking great.
