Chronologically the final chapter in the original Mortal Kombat storyline, it features virtually every character from the previous games. Players select one of them and battle a selection of the other fighters to determine the fate of the Mortal Kombat universe. In the years before the first Mortal Kombat tournament, Argus, king of Edenia and father of Rain, along with his wife, Delia, propose the creation of a warrior who would bring balance to the realms. In time, Delia and Argus have two children of their own, Taven and Daegon, and construct the Pyramid of Argus. The Konquest mode in Armageddon is a combination of the same mode seen in Deception with elements borrowed from the spin-off adventure title Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. The storyline centers on Taven and Daegon, two brothers who were put in suspended animation because their mother Delia (a sorceress) and their father Argus (the Edenian protector god) foresaw a cataclysmic event brought about by the Mortal Kombat fighters. Their awakening leads into the Konquest mode, which in turn leads into the game's standard play.

It’s so crazy how Blaze went from this simple “character” from MK2 at the pit, to one of the most powerful antagonist in the franchise.
Funny thing is he's on your side
And he's not even *evil* no less. What he's doing is for the sake of the Realms.
Fr. Shinnok is a fallen Elder God and Blaze is just a firespawn. Made by a sorceresses who is still human. Not even the deadly alliance could beat him.

Only reason I say Armageddon is because of Undead Liu Kang vs Shang Tsung was the greatest thing my 12 year old mind could perceive at the time.
Yeah. Taven was clearly meant to replace Liu Kang, even has his signature fight ending pose and has a style called Gold Dragon

One of the best Mortal Kombat games. It only loses to Deception when it comes to the dark, brutal tone, fatalities and kombos, but has everybody to that date and their Konquest mode is just amazing. I'm happy they eventually embraced a lot of Armageddon in the new trilogy, even though I deeply miss the influence of Deception.

Even after the last few MKs they made, the intro of MK Armageddon is the best. Every possible fighter is included even if you don't see them.

I personally didn't like Quan Chi much, but i had to respect him. NRS has done him dirty by putting Quan Chi in MKX. Anybody could beat him, like, what the hell?
At least in MK4 and MK Armageddon, he was the real threat. But in MKX, Quan Chi basically looked like a little bitch.

And now we know Kronika is partially behind this event just to make sure Raiden sends the message to himself back to the past in MK9. My best guess is that her son Shinnok was going to die one way or another in the aftermath of Armageddon and she again wants to prevent that.

Ahh, the memories... I played this so much, even when I was sick of it. I remember having headaches at some point, thinking "Can't take killing characters anymore"... but for some stupid reason, I used to play it all over again. Fuckin' hated Shao Kahn Colossus back then... giant mf!! lol
Anyway, good times... when my pleasure in life was to be in front of the tv for hours and hours (stopped playing video games after PS2).

Exploring the 6 realms in Deception's Konquest mode was always a delight for me. I loved finding all the hidden secrets too.
Deception is my all time favorite video game. I love Armageddon but the death traps used to piss me off lol

Midway was going bankrupt I think.
Midway went bankrupt and then everything was switched to Netherrealm Studios, and NRS decided to change everything back to 2.5D, but of course the graphic for the characters is still 3D

Yeah, so do i. The thing is, you knew about the Retcon of Raiden, Fujin, Kung Lao, then Sindel already. I don't think NRS will put the 3D era back soon
@@wolfhurricane897 they already do mutli-fighting styles, it's called Variations. Besides, 98% of the fighting styles in these games didn't fit the characters anyways and came off as a poor man's Tekken.

Damn this takes me back. I think it took me about a week to complete the story. It was good, but I prefer Deception's story mode. It was the closest thing to an MK open world that we'll probably ever get.

I like that you can unlock bonus content by exploring levels and clearing challenges, a lot better than The Krypt or Shang Tsung's island.

To be fair, the end of MK11 Aftermath was good enough. Hell, everything was recreated MK11 the MK Armageddon way. Shang Tsung in MK Armageddon betrayed Shao Kahn, just like the same thing repeated in MK11.
However, there are bad things in MK11 that i have to agree with you.
For example, let's start with Sindel. She sucks.

It would definitely be Blaze's Godlike power since it can be used for just about anything anyone would need or want such as creating a different timeline as well as resurrecting a dead family member or members.
If Armageddon had chess and Tetris like deception it would be the best but i still rank Armageddon badass along with mk 9
I wish I could have experienced this I remember I had mortal Kombat Armageddon on my PS2 but whenever I tried to load conquest mode AK story mode it never worked it always stopped loading when they got halfway and made me so mad

I actually like taven back then I actually had a similar hair not on purpose but it was similar hair style to him now I grow out my hair lol but man I love deception and Armageddon kin quest I lost count of how many times I played them it used to scare me as a kid when Onoga, Shokan, quan chi and Shang Tsung were talking in the room about there plans

1. This game had one of the best story modes in the franchise
2. I know I’m not the only one who thinking that instead of Onaga grabbing Shao Khan and flying off why didn’t he just fly to the top of the Pyramid
He wanted to torture Shao Kahn for poisoning him and dethroning him when he was originally the true emperor of Outworld
My question is how did shao Khan get back to the pyramid if Onaga grabbed him and flew FAR away from the pyramid?🤔
