Growing up is realizing Kevin is the most entertaining shark
He has turned genuine overconfidence (not quite arrogance... Usually) into a likable schtick
And the most broke shark nowadays

@@HF1.0 Sometimes the best jokes are the ones you can tell over and over.
Man I felt bad for him, both these products are badass and nicely designed. He's smart though, he'll figure it out with this or with something else.
Unfortunately, he hasn't figured it out. Seems floating mugs are out of business
Considering this episode is like 10 years old, I don't think he figured anything out
Did you actually see it in action? It looks like a useless product to me. if you pour liquid and it overflows, his floating coaster wont work. a coaster is bigger than the cup and will absorb small spills
You would not survive in business if u think that's a good product.
@@akane8615 I've been running my own business since I was 16, never had a boss. 🤷🏽♂️
Being from Zimbabwe myself I understand what it means to this guy to have this shot he had a great product and I wish the best for him just happy to see my fellow countryman tryna make it.
So proud of him and his push. Proudly Zim. Proud of you Tigere mwana wevhu.
❤️❤️❤️
Proud of you bro! keep going!! 🇿🇼
Great to see one of our own
He did a great job, I hope he’s found some success.
Neat idea. It took me a minute to figure out the value though since I don't normally dribble coffee over the edge, but the other value is that it doesn't transfer heat, cold or condensation to a table. He should create other sizes too for larger cold drinks.
@@aimlessdrive8723did you not watch the video? His whole concept is that it won’t travel through the cup and leave a ring on the table
UPDATE 1/2/23 - Research for The Floating Mug Co. update revealed that Tigere did everything in his power to keep his company alive, but it ultimately failed in the years following his Shark Tank appearance.

@@TheSuperBoyProject Good why? Jealous that someone has more potential than you have success?
Dang. Oh well. He gave it a try.
That's depressing, he seemed real passionate about it. Hope he starts another business.
rip. the idea was sound, but the business wasn't.
Barbara is already out from the point she goes in the door. He says Barbara i need you 😄😆
I like this guy a lot. He’s charming, clever, and driven. However, I have to ask: wouldn’t the drops on the coaster spill onto your lap the next time you take a sip?
Of course they would. But amazingly enough NOBODY even casually mentioned the REAL utility of that mug, in its ability to isolate the TEMPERATURE of the hot beverage from the bottom. So those of us who aren’t messy slobs and don’t spill our coffee, still won’t have the issue of a hot mug leaving a ring on a soft wood table with a fine finish. It is amazing to me that nobody mentioned that. It was the first and only thing I thought of when I saw it.
The "coaster" should be bigger (less risk of the cup turning over) and should have some groves to prever the liquid to pour into the person drinking
I love his enthusiasm and he is clearly has serious potential but i have seen products similar and they only have novelty value imo..this isn’t going to replace the traditional mug
His enthusiasm? He was soooo dead when listening to offers, he was energetic only in the start

Instead of fighting for retail he should have been fighting for licensing. Almost every cup out there is has some franchise on it. If he has the patent, he could be selling this technology to companies that can put a Spider Man on it.
"Technology" lol
The problem is the price of the mug is already so high, if he had to give a slice of sales to pay a license he is going in the wrong direction, price needs to come down.
Also licensing is better for kids than adults & kids don't really drink from mugs.
@@Prolific_Troll it's literally just a mug with a different shaped handle
Technology 😆 😂 🤣
Brilliant concept and exceptionally practical. No comparison to the mug and saucer or mug and coaster. This is a step forward in the right direction.
saucers are ment to be drank from, you pour your coffee into them and the increased surface area helps cool it down faster. this quite litterally doesnt replace the mug/saucer combination
I have never in my life seen anyone drinking from a saucer except kittens drinking milk. What planet do you live on??

Right? I don't understand the overwhelming positive comments... That just cannot work. He didn't even do any demo.
If he can get the cost of making the product to $2-$3, I think he could sell a pack of two mugs for $10-$15. That would probably be the only way of competing with traditional mugs that cost $5-$6 each.
Let me see: His ask was $75k for 15%. He had over $100k in sales on a premium mug. The mug looks very good. His landed price point was pretty high, but if he could possibly get that down to $3 per unit, he'll be fine retailing the mug at $8.50-$10 per unit. I feel bad for the way things turned out, but I don't think the sharks completely envisioned the customization that could be made to the product to have it take off. I believe the sharks missed out on this one.
You are forgetting, transport, advertising and selling it in a (web)shop
It’s a premium price for something that’s a huge concern
Trivial nonetheless@@RalphVB
It just needed tweaking. They missed out on this one. I hope he patents them, because they are very good ideas.
@@whatsup7535 Agreed. The company had accelerated their profits subsequent to their appearance, but if the owner would've secured a shark in addition to tweaking some components of the business, it would've been close to a multi-million dollar business to this day.

An attached coaster that will spill in your lap when you drink. Brilliant
Our job here is done Kevin already roasted Barbara
Man he was only asking 75k @ 15%. I feel bad for the guy, that was very reasonable considering he had a good amount of sales. compared to some people that come in asking for 250k for 5 &10% with bs products and low sales. A lot of those people end up getting offers too. Kind of shameful
He didn’t really have “good sales” though. The majority of his sales was a bulk order from a single company.
Great product. Easy steps forward to make it like Laurie said. Dude shouldn't be down on himself. Even though he didn't get a deal, there wasn't really any negative feedback. He's just gotta develop it more. AND, the opportunity isn't lost, he still captured a large part of the opportunity by getting publicity.

I was a little disappointed and underwhelmed by the mug. They're absolutely right about that glass idea though, there's something there.
It's literally just a mug with a different handle
I’d buy this mug just because it looks good
I wish someone had helped this man.
For the mug, with the built-in coaster to work, that can’t be the main reason you buy it. It Hass to be a cool benefit to the product. But you have to have some thing else intention getting to begin with. Partner with somebody for the designs on the mug to have exclusive rights, or do something else that’s also unique with it. But the cup that catches condensation, that’s a pretty useful concept.
Disagree with Barbera. She said the only time a $10 pair of sunglasses becomes a $200 is when it's really really special. NO. It's branding and image. The same with the perfume business. Take a $10 polo shirt and put a jockey on the far side chest of it and now it's a $80 shirt.
Branding is what's makes it special
The Business failed btw
Most of the time the Entrepreneurs looking for a shark always have the assumption the Sharks will want to help them a lot. When in reality, the more concrete and solid your business is, the more desirable it will be.

The sharks aren’t interested in helping you build an idea they want something already established to make them money.

Barbara: SpongeBob lives in a pineapple under the sea. For that reason, I'm out.
This is a very clever mug. Its not just a solution to stains, also you don't have to worry about your hot mug damaging your table. M shook no one invested in this.
This will Make him even sell more . He's a Winner and I Definitely be his costumer.
Both his products were great and had patents application, that guy was solid and genuine, I've seen the 'Sharks' invest in way, waayy worst products before, that's a shame! Hope the show opened doors for him regardless ! Really thought Kevin saw the potential when he pointed out is own need for a glass like that...
Anybody else want to complain about the volume? Either too loud or too quiet?
Forget the obvious benefits in terms of function. For me, the mug is aesthetically pleasing...!!! I would actually buy a set of six if the price point was much lower.
For the life of me, I don’t understand why an entrepreneur who NEEDS a shark to save their business does not ask for $50K for 25%. Or something lower. That 10%/$25K is insignificant when you have a multimillion dollar business, especially when you’re in dire straits before the deal.
I believe one team of entrepreneurs came in with a dirt cheap deal, 4 of the sharks were debating them, and Lori said “why am I thinking about this? It’s low risk and I can make millions if it works.”
If you’ve got proven sales, you can haggle for value. If you need help ASAP, just go in to get a deal.
Barbara: I can imagine people buying this product, and for that reason I'm out.
First world problems: you complain about a little coffee on a table.

IF you can justify a mug that massive in your space, and you use it all day, it's a novelty gift. Not like Lava Lamp novelty gift. Also, the design won't stop beverage rings, it will in fact give you concentric rings. I have extra large hands and love oversized handles on these. My couple of favorite mugs just happen to be gifts from other people because that's the only time you're going to spend over 20 on yet another coffee container.
I'd 100% buy that mug. It looks nice, and it's smart. He had a Kickstarter back in 2019 where he just managed to get over the goal. Sadly, it ran out of funding at tanked. Their website is down too. Shame.
His coffee/tea mug is pure class. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'd buy one. His energy was really great too.
His products are really nice! Price points are a tough hurdle to climb though!
Honestly, I'd buy that product just for the fact that it looks awesome, coaster or not.
$20 for a mug is a lot, but not an unreasonable amount.
Floating MUG CEO need to work on his confidence and also presentation of data towards the product. I believe that it’s classic and amazing product
Mark gave him good advice. He needed a website and massive social media marketing.
That thing will sell like hot cake on TikTok, like that Pink Sauce thing. Tiktokers love novel ideas.
anyone else notice that at 5:15 that red glass was in front of mark but it got passed to him at 5:20
Wouldnt the coffee in the built in saucer spill when you took the next sip?
Zimbabwe stand up!!!! Proud of you bro. Love from Zimbabwe.
In one breath Kevin says this mug can't compete with a coaster, and in another breath he talks about his lemonade always leaving a stain on his desk and how much he hates it.
This product does not compete with an $0.80 coaster like Kevin says. It's a product for people like Kevin who don't want to find an $0.80 coaster and use it.
Exactly. It's a marriage saver, plus saves his wife her voice.
Mark is like, this is stupid 😂😂
I can`t believe no one thought of the possibility of putting logo`s on them. Sports fans would buy them.
Mmmm, interesting. I wish him luck, he seems very sincere. I think the coffee that accumulates in the coaster part would drip on you when you next drink, so I'm not sure how the product wouldn't just create another problem. Instead of stained surfaces, you have stained shirts.
felt bad for tigs, seemed like good honest guy and had everything riding on deal on the show. you could tell he was devisated. i hop epeople order from watching this and keep him out of a bad spot
Barbara: " I don't know anything about coffee, or mugs, or coasters, or coffee tables so I'm out".
Too often we only see the product & not the situation that led up to the development of the "problem" & the "solution" for the creation of the product. The "Cup" represents much more than a mug, it's the "peace" for the husband so that he doesn't have to hear his wife scream about insignificant coffee rings on a table top. That's what he is selling, Peace, even if it's only for a few minutes, he's not selling a mug....
Not hating, but this cup is(was) a really dumb idea, why not just use coasters?
It's not a niche product, with a coaster or a plate you will have your 2 hands busy so this solves it. I'm not a coffee drinker but I love all kind of teas, and let me tell you even though the mug is clean when you put it in the table it will always be wet around it, even worse the heat will make a stain on the table since the layer of paint will melt a little, so definitely it is a good and needed item, it just needs to lower the price
You got this tiggs, this aint the end. Did you hear her, you have a hero! Get more credibility via sales and marketing, go to the right locations, and come back😊
I'm confused by this product. Just wipe the bottom of the cup lol
That floating mug is so innovative
Representing Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 😊
Both very smart. But Kevin’s right it has to be the price of a regular cup or glass then people will choose the one with this feature over the one that is lacking.
He actually had good products. I am surprised no 1 made even a snarky offer.
Barbara is out in case if anyone is wondering.
"Your product doesn't hold water and for that reason I'm Samurott"
- Barbara
That mug looks super cool
How did this idea go over Kevin's head? He's saying why doesn't someone go out and buy a mug and a coaster. The point is most people don't even use coasters even if they have them, so this combines two products into one, so you don't have to think about using a coaster in the first place. I think it's a great idea.
Barbara already decided to be out on this moment 1:40
Who else thought cuban was about to make an offer when he yelled “Tiggs”
🤣
The structure looks very weak to small impacts on a table... Magnificent Kevin spotted the flaw instantly.
He a beast.
I will buy this product. It’s elegant and I don’t need to follow up on my family whether they had coaster under their hot cup/mug.
"competing with a standard mug and a 58 cent coaster." That's a really valid point.
Watch Earthlings documentary to see the suffering animals go through for meat, dairy, eggs. Eat with compassion
Lori's advice is always the best.
It's a cool looking solution to an almost non-existent problem
This guy belongs in apple not shark tank
does seem like the design would be prone to breaking, maybe if it was connected in the middle at the bottom it would take more stress off the handle - or had a metal piece in the handle like kevin asked.
The first Zimbabwen guy I have seen on shark tank
@4:40 great answer
Kevin calling out Barbara: maybe you can convince Barbarawho likes to spend money when she starts to cry
Barbara: hey, well i guess hes got a point
I thought for sure QVC would be all over that.
It's not a mug, it's a cup, and the only drink that comes to mind is coffee and I like mugs, big colorful mugs, plus it cost too much, it's plain, and the handle makes it more prone to breaking and with a coaster at my desk...one does not have to go to the end of the road to reach the destination.
Cool looking cup!! I hope he makes it in many various colors and shapes!!
Just put a napkin under your damn cup
Golly, he boxed himself a plumper.

The product is cute and looks space age. I would have bought one.
Thats space age to you? Does your house look and have everything in it from 1992?
damn I feel bad 4 bro . I hope he finds success w either this product or a different one
The company closed, according to a shark tank update site.
Barbra:
There was no coffee in the mug I just unboxed so for that reason I'm out
You could license that to CocaCola, Pepsi or other big company. Even sell the patent
Good guy with some good ideas, he's already done a lot and I think he'll do great in the future. Go TIGGS!!!!!
Barbara: I like you. For that reason, I’m out.
When the coaster is stuck to the cup, it defeats one of the purposes of the coaster.
What happens when there are drips of coffee on the coaster, then you would tip the coaster along with the cup and the coffee drips into your chest or lap.
