I think the pencil holder flap is supposed to tuck in between the iPad and the magnetic back of the case.
A little tip with the flap: there’s a compartment space to tuck it in between the case and the iPad
I have the case and I’m able to take the Apple Pencil flap and magnetically attach it to the back of the case. I wonder if it’s just a defect in the specific case you got.
The old origami one you mentioned was the best case, had it for couple years. This looks good though.
May I attact the iPad 12,9 to the stand made by benks (the infinity Pro magnetic benks stand) with this magnetic cover togheter ? Or with other cover for example with the magnetic cover made by elago, ESR, JETECH to the benks stand ?
This is the best one I like the ZUGU case a lot but this one along with shell is a home run. Just too pricey but we still buy this stuff

Saw someone commented on Pitaka’s instagram saying that this case is the same as the Benk’s version, after testing both side by side, I can confirm that it’s the same. But for the Banks, it’s only a fraction of the price. Was disappointed to know that this is an OEM product and Pitaka charge so much for it just to be in line with their branding.

The flap problem is a show-stopper for me.
You can actually put the flap on the back of the case or inside the case. Out of the box, the flap is trained to be folded towards the front of the case to hold the Apple Pencil. But, if you fully fold it backwards, it actually stays on the back staying out of the way when in stand mode. Just got mine recently and it folds nicely with no issue and I’m currently writing this comment with the flap folded back. Just have to put a little pressure when folding it to the back when it’s new.
It’s not shown in the video, but the flap can be folded in a recessed indentation the case. The recessed indentation is located on the inside of the case where the back of the iPad magnetically attaches to the case and is hidden. It’s meant more for people (like myself) that don’t carry around a pencil all of the time. Check out the AMZ page for the Pitaka MagEZ FOLIO 2, and it shows an image of how that works.
