  • If you're thinking of buying a used computer, I'd try IGS Systems:

Hey, I have an 4200 in 2017 is pretty awseome. Believe me. SSD 128/3gb ram/1.6ghz Core2duo. I am very happy with these super autonomy after 6 years 3 hours, new battery can touch the 6-7 hours. And not the last pont it have just 1 Kg. I am very happy with that and I can not find something better at the moment without paing thousand.

Hey, nice video man. I see you have bluetooth enabled on the e6400. How did you get it? I can't seem to turn it on once I install the driver.
    Thanks in anticipation.

I've got an E4200 with SSD with 3Gb of RAM. And I think its the best choice, as it has a DDR-3 type of RAM insted of DDR-2 like E6400. Also SSD makes some tasks faster. And as good as for mobile, out of home solution.

That's true about the ram. I use the E4200 all the time.

+Mike Dancy so if I'm going to upgrade to an ssd, would it also be prudent to upgrade ram to get the most out of the upgrades?

If u have less than 3Gb of RAM, upgrade with SSD + 1 Gb RAM (1+3=4 or as much more as you have a money ^_^) would make O.S. performance (like windows 7) faster about 15 - 20%. So if u wondering whether or not to upgrade, u should! especialy if u upgrade DDR-3 type of memory.

I bought a e4200 with 2gb of ram off of eBay and it has Windows 7. Is that still good in 2016? I'm asking because I haven't got it yet.

I have mine with 4gb and its still fantastic. My main laptop though is a Lenovo thinkpad t430 with 16gb ram and an i7-3840qm so the dell is really just for script writing and school work but I love it.

I found that ultraportable Dell laptops have diffrent BIOS to load system faster and save battery life.

cool Vid, I'm thinking of getting one with 3gig ram and only 24gb ssd, but probably be ok for using it for the time as an ultra portable, all for just 40 pounds!! I don't really need it but its a timeless design. (e4200)

do you like yours? the biggest speed change you can make is to get a SSD hard drive and change the operating system to Ubuntu linux or Windows 10
