      You can see why though, imagine being a landlord and 90% of the time your tenants are pleasant, but just doing boring old studio/office type work - and then you come across a group of young guys doing something totally different, shooting videos doing vfx and vlogs, and on TOP of that you get to foster them as they go from being unknowns into internet royalty that set all sorts of trends and become icons of the industry and of the discipline of vfx..
      I'd be pretty hyped as well. Although Steve has said that hos buildings have always been a hub for artists, and that he's always pretty emotionally invested in the work of his tenants. But Corridor is a special breed for sure, in part because the building itself is an integral part of their content. Many of their vlogs and videos showcase the building as a crucial element in the Corridor secret sauce.
      Again, as a landlord that would make me really sentimental and proud as well.

    0:07. The money supply isn't fixed though. Governments all around the world print massive amounts of money every year.

    • @Xiox321
      @Xiox321 Před 6 lety +38

      There's no definitive exact amount, but the biggest reason they print more is to account for the mass amount of bank notes destroyed or lost. The majority of money is mostly represented digitally as far as I know, most banks don't even have enough to give everyone cash if they decided to withdrawal their entire account. At least that's my understanding.

    • @bcn1gh7h4wk
      @bcn1gh7h4wk Před 6 lety +26

      technically, it is fixed.
      because money is printed, but actives remain constant, because physical money decays and has to be replaced.
      so, if you have 100 dollars and you deposit them, you still have 100 dollars even though you don't have the physical bill anymore.
      if the value of money remains the same, years later you can still retrieve those same 100, and you'll be given a different bill, with a different serial number.
      the total amount of money in the money supply will never exceed the total amount of combinations available for the serial number, times the amount of denominations for bills.
      coins, though? that's different because they have no serial numbers.
      technically, a coin is still valid as long as it retains it's safety features like engravings or seals, the face is readable, and it conforms to specified size and weight.
      so, you can have coins valid for fifty years or more, if the system never changes.
      that, of course, in an ideal situation.

      don't know about the actual balance, but the total physical maximum can go up to 507 billion.
      give or take a million.
      that's 26 (A-Z) lots of 99.999.999 numbers, times 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, and 2, combined.
      if the serial number system is different, then the total might vary.
      in credit, you can add as much as you want.
      the trick is, whomever makes the credit is up for gaining that much, with interest, in the future.
      so..... how is the state going to pay back 4+ trillion with only having a movable pot of 500 billion? beats me.

  • @willd6319
    @willd6319 Před 6 lety +19

    Currency works in a circle, with a buyer purchasing a good or service, then the receiver using it to buy a good or service. It loops ad infinitum.
    Your system is an open loop. It is given to the benefactor and holds value until their purchase. At that point, the bill does not go to the new benefactor. It loses all value, and stagnates at the end of the line. It is an IOU, nothing more.

    • @GuitarSamurai17
      @GuitarSamurai17 Před 6 lety +6

    • @element9404
      @element9404 Před 6 lety +6

      The reason why Jubilee isn't in many countries' law is because someone could continue taking, and when the 50 year mark is reached, say "I don't owe you anything." Imagine that some guy takes 1$ from you for 50 years. That's 18,250$, not including days on leap years. Then on one day you ask him for your money back, and he says "Sorry man I don't owe you anything." It might've worked in the past, but not in modern times. This is also a Old Testament law, in Leviticus, meaning that this was intended for the Jewish people of the Old Testament to follow. Keep in mind, this was written by Moses, who was told by God to set these rules for the people who went from Egypt to the Holy Land. Leviticus also states that eating pork is unholy, so keep in mind this is the same biblical book we're looking at. I don't think that Jubilee would work under a Capitalist system, so Communism/Socialism?

      Ive stopped using the old Adblock version because it was allowing certain ads through (because the companies payed them). So im using uBlock Origin. Its amazing but i cant specify specific youtube channels (since the youtubelink doesnt say what channel its on). I just have all of youtube whitelisted.

      hey man, so for example you 're suggesting we should whitelist "czcams.com/users/samandniko" ? That would allow ads on videos watched on the channel's page but what if I want to watch them normally, by clicking on the video and watching it by it's unique link? :/

      Giovani I think it's a bit different when everyone knows every gun is an air soft gun and not real. The worse thing that will happen is ur eye might get a hell of sting. I mean they actually point and fire these at eachother all the time so I don't think anyone's worried about shooting anyone. Lastly, I do agree it's bad practice because if they do hold a real gun they have all these bad habits already formed.

    • @Ellocomotive
      @Ellocomotive Před 6 lety +2

      Thomas Holcomb that's the issue. They have worked with real firearms before. People get hurt all the time because of lack of care regarding ANY firearm. Never, ever, make assumptions. Even if I have an airsoft weapon, I still treat it like a real one, because complacency kills. It has before, and it always will.

    • @Hirvee5
      @Hirvee5 Před 6 lety +4

      The thing is that a direct hit from a decent airsoft gun will quite possibly puncture an eye as far as I have understood. Usually on airsoft games we handle the airsoft guns more like unloaded firearms. well until everyone has eye safety on at least.

    • @Hirvee5
      @Hirvee5 Před 6 lety

      They are also adults and dumb. They shot a rocket launcher a bit ago with no eye safety and Spencer's shoulder was charred. I just Imagined that being someone eye. Well I guess it is fun to live dangerous and all that stuff...

      Because the worth of a currency is based on how much of the currency there is. So a country could print out 5 billion trillion dollars a day if they really wanted to. but it would make each dollar, worth about 0.02 Pence

    • @trunksfullpower
      @trunksfullpower Před 6 lety

      Yeah there is, if everyone were to withdraw all of their money from banks at the same time, only a fraction would get them. The money that gets printed every year accounts for the older ones that get destroyed/lost.

    What's fascinating to me is that I found this interesting to actively watch. If I was a passers by viewer from a Suggested thumbnail click, I don't think I would have keep watching at all.
    Like three non economic experts causally speculate on how their semi-trivial currency should work.
    And yet because I am previously emotionally invested I found this fun, like sitting in on a Discord chat with internet friends I've never met.
    I guess this is a long winded question to Cmike and Nick, how do you decide of what you have filmed to turn into a Vlog episode? How do pick what to spent your editing time on and how much does non-subscriber accessibility play into it?
