In the decade+ I've been watching this league, I've never seen such piss poor officiating during these last few seasons..... You use the var for the handball, but not for the ball clearly out of bounds on the first goal?? 😂😂😂 Like are you guys even trying???
VAR did check the first goal and said it was fine.

@@coloradoslasthope1608 from the angles presented, it looks like while the majority of the ball is out of bounds, there is still a sliver of ball hovering over the line. And the rule is that the ball must be completely over the line, not just mostly over for both out of bounds and goals.
I’m telling you it’s awful now. Watching this live, I’ve never been so angry at them. Occasional bad calls make sense but THIS amount and at vital moments is ridiculous.
@@csfwatsonVAR is supposed to point out to the referee when potential things like this happen and then tell him. The reason people are so mad is that they made the call to not review it instead of asking the referee to check it(thats their one job as an Assistant Referee). When Nashville scored they then did what they were supposed to and say come look at this. VAR ALONE is not allowed to make the call on a play when its related to scoring or cards according to the MLS rulebook.

There is either a camera angle that VAR has that wasn’t shown on the TV broadcast where there was a handball or they fucked that one up. Most likely the latter.

Went to this game, and omg had to wait 2 hours before we could go to our seats. we were sitting in the stadium. i almost gone to sleep and had fun idk if the ref was that bad i mean the handball looked obvious
I swear these Nashville fans need to calm down… like yeah maybe it wasn’t a handball or smth. BUT 9/10 refs aren’t going to be good?! Move on. 😭💀
1:41, replay shows the ball was over the end line, side judge was asleep, Columbus goal shouldn't have been allowed. Foreign TV coverage guy starts every (potential) scoring description with "he's got one thing on his mind", as if that's a cutting-edge soccer thing, almost hilarious.
With that camera angle, it's impossible (for me at least) to tell if a sliver of the ball is still over the edge of the goal line. Even if it was, that's not an easy call for the Assistant Referee (not "side judge", I think that's a pointy-ball term). The restart was a corner so they're immediately moving upfield from the corner to the offside line, then having to reverse direction as the ball's passed back in, and, from 60 yards away, determine that the entire ball was in or out for that 0.2 second. Not saying it's impossible, but it wasn't because they were asleep - I doubt any human AR could have gotten back to the end line for a definitive look that quickly. And if that was the best angle the VAR had, it was appropriate for them not to recommend a review (as it also would have been if the ball had been ruled out of play). And before anyone says the obvious about having a goal line camera - VAR has to use broadcast feeds, and that's up to the league and the broadcaster. Since they're only interested in entertainment value, I doubt they want to spend a significant chunk of change on additional cameras and operators for once-or-twice a season decisions.

Awful reffing if you watched the whole game. Both the lack of a call and going to VAR with no proof. What happened to CLEAR AND OBVIOUS? If they have to take a second opinion it’s not clear and obvious. The Crew won it but it should’ve been called better 2-1 or 1-0 would’ve made sense, but the calls he ended up making were terrible.

Angle at 4:34 in 0.25x speed clearly shows his hand touching the ball on the shoulder of Farsi but I do agree about the ball being out of play for the crew goal. I think that should’ve been looked at deeper.
