- We leave Savannah, Georgia and head north to Pennsylvania. What lay ahead for us was both unexpected and humbling. But, who's Pedro and where is South of the Border? We find out as we travel life in the slow lane in an HDT Life.
A battleground state in many ways, it was hard to imagine how our visit to Pennsylvania would impact us. We're still not sure.... But history tells us that Gettysburg was a re-birth of our Nation and a consecration of those ideals we hold dear and remembering those who gave the full measure of their devotion to those beliefs.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.
We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to CZcams channels Suite Travels, Switch it Up and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks (Happilyeverhanks) #thankshanks and believe it or not, I actually learned something from MRBeast Mr Beast video's as well.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share in our experiences in our discovery of What's Next.

Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.

David thinks that he is so funny which is funny in itself. Watching David laugh at himself is hysterical.
I know, Mary. I tickle myself with these bad puns. Thanks for putting up with me.
David was such a heel in this video!😂
😆 🤣 😂
The history in this country is unbelievable! Thanks for taking us on your journey! Hope you had a great birthday, Sondra! 😎🎉🎂
Sondra had a great birthday, thank you for thinking of her. It's pretty amazing and a very colorful history. It's amazing to think that it wasn't that long ago either.
We lived in Alexandria, VA for almost 40 years a d spent a lot of time in Gettysburg and Amish country. We visited the original building the cyclorama was in. When we went on our honeymoon 54 years ago we visited Gettysburg. The restaurant called the Avenue diner is still there. Really enjoyed your walk down memory lane
Thank great memories. We now live in Western New York state and have retired and live back with family
Bernie and Debbie Wright
Great memories! Thanks for sharing.
Looking at the battle site was amazing you can sense the history up to 51,000 men from both armies died on the battlefield .a place that I thought I'd never see thank you
It was incredible. The close proximity both sides had to each other was mind blowing.
The release of this episode was well-timed. What a beautiful Memorial Day gift to us, your subscribers and channel viewers. Thank you. The cyclorama was a wonderful😂 climax of this long-awaited trip to Gettysburg and now on to Ohio. Safe travels, Sondra and David.👍🏾🙏🏾❤️
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks
It is very moving to stand on that ground. In mid November in the cemetery they have a beautiful illumination service, boy scouts put candles on all the graves and the troops march in, very moving. A friend of mine built one of the cannons and carriage and donated to the museum, its in the cyclorama. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state.
I can imagine that is very moving. It's a special place with a very somber atmosphere.
Loved the Smart car convoy! Enjoy your videos so much. My Dad was a truck driver and watching your videos brings back so many memories of going with him when I was a kid. I loved the truck stops. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it brought back some great memories!
Wow. Thats something ill never see..thank you so much. So much to take in there. Not just beauty. Can u fathom living then and going through that.. being a family member. Hearing the speech.
Well done capturing it for us!
Hard to imagine, Mona. But it must have been amazing. Having the battle rage all around must have been terrible. Those cannon blasts are loud!
In 2019 we visited Gettysburg and throughly enjoyed it. We are from Ontario 🇨🇦 and I planned this trip. My husband was completely surprised because I don’t like army movies and I am not much of a history lover but Gettysburg is one of my favourite places we have visited. I loved the little museums that depicted the civilian life and how the women helped the soldiers. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
That's neat. It's a great place with a very quaint atmosphere and tons of history. Thanks
I have been there myself several decades ago when I was stationed in Alexandria, VA. It is amazing how the Dept of Interior has kept up the place after all these years.
Yes, they've done a good job. Thanks
We love Gettysburg farm TT been there several times, only with a 30’ travel trailer. Most recently July 23? 2024 Can’t imagine going in and out with your rig. Great campground great staff.
It's a great park... in a cool area. 😎 thanks
This video was so emotional for me. Beautifully done, very respectful. Thanks for the levity throughout! We have “decided” that we’ll be using a truck camper when we go through that part of the country! Thanks as always for the beautiful episode this week.
That will be great and will allow you tons of flexibility. Truck campers are great for Alaska as well. Have a great trip.
The video montage and music at the end was wonderful. David and Sondra, your content is getting better and better.
We really appreciate your time watching the channel, Carey and are excited to have you along on the journey.
That's so nice of you to let your wife drive it fits her well after 48yrs of trucking my wife was my team driver
She enjoys it, Grant. Loves to drive on travel days.
Happy birthday Sondra!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONDRA ❤️❤️
Thanks. She had a good one.
Just started watching you guys. The Dad jokes are priceless. You both are living my dream that didn't happen due to life's downfalls.
Sorry, Donna but glad you found us. We're excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
You are in my state. We love visiting historical Gettysburg! Thanks for taking us back.
Beautiful area. We really enjoyed our visit!
Thank you and may you be blessed in your endeavors this week.
That is a spectacular Harvest Hosts. Loved it when we stayed there.
It's very scenic and peaceful, Linda. Glad you enjoyed it.
This was really interesting. I'm in my 60's so I had to refresh my brain from school. Thank you for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate your comments. Thanks
Your talent in production and editing is fantastic. I look forward to Thursday for your latest documentary.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the comments.
Hi guys, I have to say the punometer was in meltdown this week, hilarious. What an extraordinary place. Have a great weekend and safe travels.
I was saying, one more!!😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it, Brendan. Something in my cereal that morning! 😆
@@bigtruckbigtravels 🤣🤣🤣 Debi and I have been watching you all for a long time... but just rarely chime in. But we love your videos, comments, puns and ALL!!!! Keep them coming!!!! We love following you. Maybe we'll see you two on the road sometime. We are on the road from time to time in an HDT 45' RV conversion pulling a 30' enclosed race car trailer, heading all over the country to NHRA Drag races. We are retired but still out racing.... Continued safe travels and keep the puns coming!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Great video, very good content! The "dad jokes" were relentless, i lost count!😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it...I couldn't keep up either! Lol 😆
David with those comments about the shoe house I am surprised you didn't get booted out of there.
😆 🤣 😂 that's good! I'm ashamed I didn't think of that one! Thank you
During the shoe house chat I was surprised that you didn’t want anyone to “Don’t Tread On Me”. LOL!! Beautiful country a must see National Park.
That would have been a good one, Bill. Thanks 😄
I love it when David makes himself laugh with his dad jokes. 😂
Don't you mean his BAD jokes!
😆 🤣 I do crack myself up... of course, if I don't laugh... then no one will!
This was fun. As long as you keep sharing I'm along for the ride. Have been for over a year and I'm loving it.
Great to hear! Thanks and buckle up, we've got more places to visit.
I did the Gettysburg tour back in the early 90s. At that time, you could rent a cassette player with a tape that told you what speed to drive, where to turn, narrated what was transpiring or battle was taking place as you were driving. It also had sound effects that made you feel you were experiencing everything as it happened back then. I mean the sounds of the horses hooves as they were either galloping by or as they were being ridden while in a fight. Sounds of gunfire, cannons, men yelling, men crying out in pain, officers shouting orders, and more. I think I took enough pictures, 8 rolls of 36 exposure 35mm rolls were used. I had never seen so many statues in my life. At each site were several statues with the names of the men that died in battle at that location. It was a very educational and moving experience. It really makes you appreciate our country even more. I am so glad you two were able to do the tour. Happy Travels!
That's cool. Now, it's on the phone app with numbered stops. Also, bus or Segway or walking or horseback or carriage tours! Whew.
GOOD MORNING GUYS ITS FRIDAY BEAUTIFUL RIDE TO DAY ! YOU GUYS ARE SO FUN OH I DID NOT KNOW SONDRA DROVE TOO DANG THATS AWESOME !! BE BLESSED BE SAFE GUYS !! I LOVE YOU GUYS !! ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you. She enjoys driving the rig.
Beautiful country side!! Thank you 💚
Our pleasure! It was a beautiful day.
This was another great episode. You take me and mine to places we’ve never been before.
Great to hear. Excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
Absolutely loved learning about Gettysburg and seeing York those buildings were stunning so pleased they are so well preserved.
Gettysburg was so beautifully preserved and respectful fur all who lost their lives.
Love always seeing your magnificent truck it’s beautiful.
Safe journeys. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks, Angela. It was a great trip and a wonderful experience. 😊
Love the video! We were just there in October. The visitor center is the best place to start. With my Art background the Cyclorama is amazing. I still say that the best way to visit the battlefield is on a Segway! Looking forward to the next adventure!❤
-Jim and Sue
Thank you. We looked into that and will probably do that on the next trip. Great idea!
The Eisenhower farm and museum right there by the battlefield was very interesting when we camped at Gettysburg. Agree that Cyclorama was really great.
Thanks, Dale. It was a great experience.
SOMBERING BUT HUMBLING FOR SURE ✊❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏
Yes. A very humbling experience for us. Thank you
This reminds me of Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee where we visited. The numbers of men that were killed in a day is staggering. Someday we will get to Gettysburg, too. I have to say, Sondra, that you've got me started on buying stickers. I bought my first one today for my travel journal. :)
Oh... the sticker path is a long and winding road with no end... the Civil War battle sites are unbelievable with what happened at each. Hard to fathom.
Next time in Georgia come to Chickamauga Battlefield.
Love your Videos
One of my G-G-Granddads fought there.
Sounds good, Rachel. Gettysburg was very interesting and sobering as well.
Again Thank You for making such a great video of your travels. It’s so great your sharing it makes me feel I’m riding with you.
Glad to hear it, David. That's how we want you to feel, like you're sharing this journey with us. Thanks 😄
I’ve been to Gettysburg 3 times, and definitely plan on going back many more times.
Great place. Beautiful area.
We really enjoy watching your videos. I wanted to tell Sondra that the next time you're in Mexico looking for stickers, ask for " calcomanias". I hope this helps.
Yes, we found out from a viewer on our last trip. We asked on this one and they had a lot! Thanks
You made Gettysburg look very interesting.
Thanks, Erin. We enjoyed it.
This was a fantastic travel experience Gettysburg was great thank you for taking on this wonderful journey. Loved every moment and the jokes bring a smile to our face. Safe Travels 🥰 🚙
Glad you enjoyed it, Joyce! Thanks for watching the channel.
I rode my motorcycle up there from Mississippi just to do the tour. It made me sad then just like it made me sad now. Great video!!
Thank you. It was a weird feeling at the end of the day... but it was very historic how it all turned out.
Hi, I would like to say welcome. Lol...I live in Alberta Canada, but my ancestors all came from Pennslvaina , large family most all from Allegany, PA. So, I love this video. I have a big book about it all I must drag out and reread it.
That is awesome, Irene! What a beautiful state and so interesting too. Thank you for watching.
Welcome to Pennsylvania! We live in Mechanicsburg, PA about 45 minutes from Gettysburg. I learned some history on York from you today. I have friends that are in the reenactment every year at Gettysburg. Sondra great video capture of the owl! Sondra I think you should buy handheld illuminating beacons, you know like they use at the airport to guide the airplanes in after they land. You can use them to guide David when he is backing into your RV spot. Just a thought. 😊 I love your videos!
Great suggestion. We actually have a pair of those! Thanks
We loved our trips to Gettysburg. A couple of those trips were over July 1st,2nd and 3rd. Re-enactments were being all over Gettysburg. One trip was over a Memorial Day Weekend. We watched as Boy Scouts placed flags on the graves at the National Cemetery.
Just a little correction; there was fighting within the center of the town as well. Jenny Wade was killed by a bullet that passed through the door to her home and struck her while she was in the kitchen.
Enjoy your videos so much. My kids loved the Pedro signs and the rest stop at South Of The Border.
That's cool and the perfect time to visit for all the activities. Thanks for the comments.
You could rent a room at the shoe, but only if the shoe fits. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.
Thanks for watching! 😆 🤣 That's funny, Karen. I should have thought of that one!
We missed you by a week. And yes the roads are very tight for a large rig.
Ahhh...one week! That would be fun to say hi on the road.
Super cool video., though I lost count of David’s puns! I visited Gettysburg years ago - found it haunting and emotional. You gave a beautiful presentation. Stunning photos, Sondra! Thanks so much .
😆 🤣 I don't think my puns are worthy of your time to track them! Lol 😆 Thanks for watching.
Wow! Another great video! David you’re such a heel!
Glad you enjoyed it! I am a big heel, no doubt! Thanks
My Lovely Bride and I honeymooned in Gettysburg and the Amish country a mere 43 years ago this sept. This was a very emotional video for me this week as you guys did such a nice job. We were young and I was so unprepared for what an adventure this could have been. We live in SWFL now but plan to go back and tour the area. THANK YOU Sondra ( Happy BIrthday) and David. You guys are a real blessing to know even if only virtually. Mike & Sharon
Thanks for sharing, Mike & Sharon. Glad you enjoyed it. We love it when a video brings back good memories to those who watch it... including us!
Great job getting under the bridge sondra ❤❤❤ Lisa
She did great! Thank you
No worries stay safe xxxx lol
We love visiting Pennsylvania. There is so much history there.
Love from Louisiana.
Tons of important history that changed our nation.
How cool to get to see the original pix‼️
It was amazing, Linda. Such history.
We have stayed a few times at Weldon Mills Distillery, Harvest Host. It’s a great distillery sorry you missed the tour. And yes scary low bridge. We have not been to Gettysburg, thanks for sharing.
Weldon is a great stop, Melinda. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching the channel.
Thanks for the visit to Gettysburg, interesting!
Our pleasure! We enjoyed it a lot. We are excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
That was so cool guys, you both Are good team drivers
Thanks, Ricky. It definitely helps to have a good team going in the same direction. We both enjoy traveling in our RV.
This morning, my garmin wanted me to take a shortcut on a county road. I was dubious about it before I got there. As I was approaching, I figured if I turn on to that road, it becomes 1 way! The entire road was about 12' wide! And it had a sign at the intersection say No Trucks.😮
You were smart NOT to follow your GPS blindly. They sometimes make no sense at all!
I crapped my pants for you! 😂 that looked sooooo close! My rig is 13' 6" , so I know the hot flash and racing heart all too well. 🥵
So close! Lots of laundry to do that evening! 😆 🤣
😂😂😂
Yeah, on a roll today, David, love it
Must have been something in my cereal!
First time commentor from New Hampshire. I keep keep my wife on her toes with my comments all the time as well. It-C is cool that Sondra drives the truck. I am glad that my wife and i discovered your channel to add to the list of RVers that we watch on CZcams. Within 2 years we plan to start with a bumper pull or a used Class C. We have visited Pa. a couple of times but never Gettysburg.
Welcome aboard! Always good to keep her on her toes! 😆 🤣 My sister used to live near Hanover. I would take the bus to White River Junction and she'd pick me up. Beautiful area. Congrats on the RV plans. It's a lot of fun. Thanks for watching.
David, I think you were way over your quota of bad jokes … or I mean “dad” jokes. But I know you just can’t help yourself. Sondra even got in the action. You are rubbing off on her! David it looked like you were having a hot flash on that tight turn but in true David fashion, you pulled it off. Great handling of the rig. Always amazes me but I don’t know why because you are good. Thanks for the tour of Gettysburg. I’m not much of a history person but that was just enough and now I don’t have to go there. Enjoyed the vlog. I look forward to next week’s adventure. Take care.
I think I dipped into the next few weeks quota of "bad Dad" jokes! Always glad to have you along on the journey. Appreciate your time.
Amigos, Your adventures always surprise me with their interestingness and beautiful shots, congratulations, and keep having fun.
Thank you, Carlos. We're enjoying our travels and having you along on the journey. 😊
Had to watch, I was there 40 plus years ago.
It's a beautiful area with so much history.
You got some good ones today enjoying your soulful taste
Thank you! Definitely on a roll.
Crikey that bridge was low! Not much wiggle room there!! X
Not much at all! It looked lower than posted.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed the video about Gettysburg. I am not sure of your travel route but a couple of suggestions. 1. Little BighornBattlefield near Crow Agency Montana and in Washington the town of Rosalyn Washington especially if you are a fan of the TV show "Northern Exposure ."
Thank you. We've been to Little Big Horn but not to Roslyn. Loved that show!
@@bigtruckbigtravels my Great grandfather's cousin's name is on the Monument at Last Stand hill. Benjamin Wells. He was the farrier for Custer's unit.
Welcome to our home state.
Thank you, Sally. We'll definitely be back. So much to see and experience.
Like always another great video thanks for the good information and laugh and with that motor home that was coming in to your lane I would’ve been blowing the air horn. I got a truck so long that you ran out of air. Good thing hit you were watching at me as a driver. I’ve seen it a lot. Also, there are some weird people out there that are texting and driving especially in these motorhomes, they don’t realize where the back end of it is and they start changing lanes. They think that they can clear good job of saving that.
Thanks, Lance. I was on the horn but I don't think he cared. His steps were hanging out there too.
Maybe the reason buc ees won't let you park there is the weight of your rig. But think about this for a second. All that stuff that's inside that store got there; not by osmosis and not by Santa Claus. That's right. A truck brought it. A semi with the same amount of axels that are on your rig. Those things max out at about 43k pounds if I'm correct. Wayyy more than your rig. Go figure.
It's not the weight but more for the room. Big Trucks with trailers take a lot of room and they don't want the hassle. Plus, they don't want a Truck stop, they want a travel center.
Thank you once again for the history lessons as you make your journey westward.
Did you ever decide on a name for the drone?
I can only imagine the feelings you felt as you stood there on the battlefields of Gettysburg, knowing that the ground before you still carries the blood of the dying men that fought for the freedom of the nation. Thank you to you and Sondra.
Haven't decided on the name yet. We're narrowing it down to just a few. So many good suggestions. It was a sobering experience and I never realized until that day as we stood there that it was our re-birth as a nation.
@@bigtruckbigtravels and so many of the men that perished weren’t even that old. Your choice of background effects as you narrated the video, added dramatically to the video. My heartbeat increased each time you paused and the cannon fire could be heard. 🫡
What lovely countryside and charming towns but this video filled me with sadness at the end to think of all the blood of men and horses that were soaked into the ground. Thank you for how respectfully you presented it.
It was our honor. We felt the same sadness at the end.
6.5 is not a bad average. I am a retired long haul truck driver. Most of my loads gave me a 80,000 pound total weight. I averaged about 6 MPG.
Thanks, Leonard. We were concerned that it would drop more after we went to a heavier trailer but it's held nicely in the high 6's and low 7's.
I love your silky humor! I travel vicariously through your channel. You’re living the life we wanted but disabilities prevented it. I’m from Oklahoma and noticed your Route 66 t shirt, David. Love it!
Thank you so much!! We are excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
I think it is so wonderful that you are in Gettysburg for this Memorial Day weekend‼️ Thanks for the history you are sharing with us too besides the beautiful scenery ‼️👍 THANK YOU‼️👍
Our pleasure, Linda! It worked out great on the timing and was a very memorable experience.
Very interesting, enjoy this video.
Glad you enjoyed it, Mary. Thanks for watching.
What a beautiful, but sad place. Wonderful how they preserved so many things there, and are able to tell the story still. The town was absolutely beautiful with the old buildings. So much history! Thanks for sharing your experience with us and giving it all the respect that it deserves. Definitely on our radar to come see and experience it all firsthand. Take care you two and stay safe!❤️~Wendy
Thanks, Wendy. It's a unique place to visit. So much history, so much sadness in what happened but so much joy and pride in the outcome.
Thanks so much for this great video!! Very good headup for our upcoming vacations since we were already plan to goes there first week og August.. Thanks again
Thanks, Marco. Glad it was helpful. Enjoy and safe travels.
The Haines Shoe House "walked" right into 5 dad jokes. It was so easy, one couldn't avoid it. To the chagrin of the naysayers, I'd say you showed restraint, David. I was laughing along with Sondra at all of them. I counted 10 in this video, and they were a delightful counter to those solemn scenes of the battlefield and cemetery. ❤
Thanks so much. It was an odd day for sure. Beautiful in the scenes we saw but horror in what was happening in 1863. Can't imagine but it was a rebirth of our nation. And yes, I thought I showed much restraint!
❤ awesome so very interesting thank you for sharing❤
Thanks for watching, Joanne. We enjoy sharing our experiences.
Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
My pleasure 😊 Glad you enjoyed it.
You’re coming through my neck of the woods! North Carolina here! We have been to Gettysburg twice! Great place to visit! Well, that not very neighborly of Buc-ees!! 😢 y’all be safe out there! Lots of storms out there this week that we are watching this episode! I hope y’all are safe!! ❤❤❤
Thanks, Marian. We used to live in Wilmington. Lots of storms all around! It's been a crazy spring!
HOLY CLOSE BRIDGE BAT MAN !!!!
No kidding! Hot flashes all around! 😆 🤣
Sondra, you should have given him the boot at the shoe, Sister! 😂 #dadjokes Fun video, thank you!
😆 🤣 she thought about it! Bur I sneaked off before she could do it!
That is a ground hug
Thank you. We weren't sure.
I will never understand why they build those overpasses with such low clearance. The older ones I understand but, when they build them now they do the same thing. I assume they don't want to spend the extra money for the little bit of extra concrete they would need. They should build overpasses with at least two feet of clearance because over time the road deteriorates and they repave it over and over chipping away at the overhead clearance. And, I'm sure over the years the overpasses sink a little. But, being the excellent driver Sondra is she handled it with a little sweat. As a 26 year retired bus operator Mr David, stop taking your eyes off the road when you're talking to wifey on the road, she can hear you. You guys are great and nothing is better than seeing people enjoy their retirement. Keep on trucking. Blessings and safe travels. Grest video as usual.
Preaching to the choir here. I don't get it either but it's one of those "penny wise, pound foolish". Thanks
Hey when you saw that big shoe you should have gone for a drink and got "Laced" hahaha. Got ya back.
Lol 😆 😆 that's good! Love it!
An absolute beautiful video. Couldn’t get over how green everything was.
It was amazing, Vicki. So green and such a beautiful day too. Thanks for watching.
I love the puns!😂
😆 they do grow on you... like fungus! 😆 🤣
Absolutely love the RV lifestyle myself. On long trips, I've found the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series to be a lifesaver. It's got a massive capacity, super fast recharge, and it's waterproof. Plus, the smart app control is super convenient. It's definitely a great investment for the outdoor enthusiast!
Interesting. Thank you. We'll look into it.
You don't see SONDRA DRIVING TO OFTEN??? WOW WOW GOOD TO SEE
She loves to drive but doesn't trust me with pictures! Lol 😆
I really appreciate this episode it brought back memories when i would go through Gettysburg with my parents
That is very cool, Rita. Thanks for sharing.
HI YOU TOO ARE HALIARIOUS AND I LOVE IT 😂
Thanks. We enjoy this lifestyle.
Thanks again for showing us another part of your beautiful country ...I enjoy watching your travels every week, and the dad jokes....just good viewing...and a happy birthday 🎉..kev 🇦🇺
Appreciate your comments, Kev. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy the journey with us.
Okay Sondra is it just me but can you possibly do a video showing your scrapbook journals please please
Also please let me know if you will ever be coming through Kentucky my husband and I would love to host you guys
I keep extensive travel journals also. We pull an Airstream. ❤. Sondra please share yours
Shhhh... don't encourage her! Ones coming... 😆
When coming to an overpass, if the road looks like it's freshly paved, don't expect the clearance signs to be updated - - just saying.
I believe that Federal law requires the sign to read 4" lower than the actual clearance, and most 13'6 trucks are actually 13'4, so a 13'6 truck going under a 13'6 underpass actually has about 6" of clearance. This is so that the air, thanks to the Bernoulli principle, doesn't lift the top of the rig into the bottom of the bridge.
Except in New Jersey, where 13'6 is 13'6, so be careful of fresh snow.
Lol 😆 that is true. We're hoping they have allowed for that!
Been there about 20 years ago. Lots of history there. It bought back memories. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it, Lydia. It's great to share experiences with everyone. Appreciate your time watching the channel. 😃
Thank you for the respect at the cemetery. I enjoyed the video & appreciate the visit to Gettysburg. Love the nature pictures you take & enjoy that David gets such a kick out of tlhis own Dad jokes! Safe travels! 💙
Glad you enjoyed it, Sally. It just felt like the right thing to do. It was a great trip and a very introspective day.
