I’m from Columbus. They’re living in a premiere suburb outside of the city. The good thing is that there are plenty of areas right outside of Dublin that have dramatically smaller prices! Look into Hilliard, Delaware, Marysville, Plain City or even Worthington north of Columbus. The commutes from those areas aren’t bad at all depending on where the church is located in Dublin. Dublin is literally one of the most “elite” suburbs in Ohio. Lol Good luck and welcome to central Ohio! ❀❀❀

So much this. My husband and I have been looking for over a year in the Columbus area. The only way we can find something decently sized in our price range is to move 40 mins + outside the city or live in a neighborhood where we are concerned about safety. The second is not an option as we are expecting our first child. We're dropping out of the home searching crowd for the time being. We've been super frustrated since we had a down payment ready to go, but we're finding peace in knowing we have reasonable rent in a good area, and we're planning to invest the down payment until things look better.

For many of us a 30 minute commute is just so normal that a 45 minute drive isn't that big of a deal.
