Excellent report and review 🥇 Thanks for sharing 👍
NOT paying $70 for a Bass Tracker rod holder. The 1/4-20 machine lag bolts are a no brainer! I'm just passing my one week of ownership of a 2020 v19 wt! My original purchase was going to be a Lund 16'. So glad I went and looked at Tracker with my own eyes instead of reading reviews! Twice the boat for the same money!
And that's exactly what I did I pretty much made my own rod holders and mounts for over half of what they charge for the mounts at bass pro. The new models are nice I was looking at them yesterday they have made some mods that I wish mine had from the factory. Thanks for watching!
Reel Addiction Thanks for taking the time to make the video! I should have my full review up in a couple of days. Lots to talk about. Pros and cons. Cheap tongue jack, creeky deck in spots, useless turn style non lockable pull handles for the deck lids, I took out the middle rod storage mid rod support and doubled my rod storage capacity, and definitely the sure track, and,,,,,,,,, that is ALL! Just something to complain about. Nobody gets a free pass on my reviews LOL. Absolutely love how this boat is stable and takes 2-3 foot waves like a champ!
So I just uploaded a video showing what a pos the jack stand is on these boats. Go watch it and see for yourself. All in all it was my own stupidity, but again they are cheap and I would highly recommend replacing it asap so you don't end up like I did.
Reel Addiction I’m trying to get Trailer Valet to sponsor a video. Not much luck yet, lol. I HAVE to upgrade the jack for sure though.
That would be awesome, keep asking them maybe they'll let you review it. Go watch what I just posted you'll see why you need to change it out!
Great video
awesome set up man :)
Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
good job thanks
Thank you too!
Great Review!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Wouldn't a piece of felt or rubber stop it from chewing up the sides like that (saw it on a different video)? Nice boat, I would hate to see that damage if it could be prevented.
1/4” carriage bolts not 1/2”. I use SS.
You are correct my mistake thanks for reminding me!
Nice boat. Do you use it in saltwater?
How tall and how long is the Bimini top that u have? Can u stand up in it?
Awesome video!! I am about to purchase a targa v 18, after you removed the extra seats in back would I be able to put back on? Say if my dad and I were going to do some tournament fishing so we removed them but if I wanted them on when I went out with family could I put them back on
I’m sure there is a way to reattach them however you would have to rivet them in order to reattach them. I drilled out the rivets to remove the flip bench seat and it has been an absolute blessing. It has opened up the boat so much more and allowed for more room. It also cut about 100 pounds of weight out of the boat. I’m sure you could probably put a piano hinge on there with some screws as well which would make for easy removal and reattachment.
I appreciate your reply and have subscribed, my dad and I are going to be tournament catfishing, how big of one do you think the live well could hold? I will be using it as a family fishing boat as well for my wife , and our two boys
@@rileyhunt6534 I have caught several large sharks and put them in the livewell you can fit a fish upwards of 18-20 pounds you just have to get creative and put it in at an angle. I highly recommend getting a kill bag they are the best investment ever!
@@brandonpekarek8032 I from the Midwest so just big blues and flatheads . Any other recommendations to a new boat buyer?
@@rileyhunt6534 upgrade your fish finder, install a wash down kit, make sure you have a marine radio, life jackets and all the necessary items you will need! Good luck and enjoy
Hi. I just got a 18’ targa w 150. I’m just curious if you have noticed any of the issues I’m noticing with the new motor. First of all it steers very differently left then right. Maybe prop rotation… idk. And I have to rotate the steering wheel a lot to make minor course corrections. I assume there is some kind of a hydraulic issue but the dealer is telling me everything is operationally normal. The other thing I noticed is motor shake. At idle in gear the boat shakes enough to make the graph on the consul almost hard to view contour lines. Have you noticed anything like that? TIA
How’s it going so to answer your questions as far as the steering, mine does not typically stay on track without making minor adjustments, but it’s never been a big enough issue to complain about. As far as the motor shaking, I do get pretty good shakes at idle and low speed. I typically troll with a plate at very low speeds and sometimes have to trim up and give it a little more throttle to reduce the shaking. I am not sure if this is something to do with the 150 or the boat itself, but I guess over the years I have just learned to deal with it.
@@brandonpekarek8032 thx for feedback! I’m not sure if it’s normal that I have to make a lot of turn of steering wheel to make motor turn…. Mine doesn’t really stay on track persay. Current or wind etc…. I wonder if there’s air in hydronic lines causing a loss of pressure from steering wheel input. Either way the dealer says “normal”. I also have noticed how much this boat needs to be trimmed vs my other glass type boat. Maybe aluminum or a hull design difference- idk. The motor shake is leading me towards a kicker tho. I should make a video of all this lol. Thx again!
Does the Bimini lay down out of the way or do you have to take it off if your not using it ?
The bimini lays flat when not in use.
Lol what are you on brother?😅
How did you attach the bimini hardware to versatrack?
My boat came with Bimini mounts for the versa track system. You can use a simple half inch carriage bolts and slide it in the track and use a wingnut to tighten it down. It makes for easy on and off application.
