Call it serendipity or genius, but when four legends of Texas music pooled their talents in December 1989, a new sound was born: the Texas Tornados. The band was new but its members were no strangers to center stage. Freddy Fender was a mega-star with his hits "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" and "Before the Next Teardrop Falls." Doug Sahm and Augie Meyers formed the The Sir Douglas Quintet in San Antonio in the mid- 60's in a sound that shook up the pop charts with "She's About a Mover." Then there's Flaco Jimenez, who, along with his father and brother used their accordions to invent their own music genre. - Hudba
Please rise for the Texas National Anthem

California and Texas, New Mexico and Colorado... USA Forever!!!... The Greatest Music!!!! Is from there
I'm a white man who grew up with this.i love this.
You know how couples have that special song? Well, this is ours. First time I met him, this song was on a jukebox in a local Mexican bar. 28 years later and we're still dancing.
I love this song! I go around and just start singing it for no reason at all! That's the greatest part of living in Texas because if you start to sing this in public someone will always join in! Lol
And 10 year old girls have no rights...Texas can do better.
I live in Phoenix and my dad told me a wonderful story. He said where I live it used to be all corn field. He told me when he was 16 years old, he and Freddy Fender who was a few years older were friends and used to pick corn together. He says that even then Freddy would sing while they were working and play his guitar.
Hello beautiful lady
I ♥️ Freddie Fender!!!!
This band is fantastic! So much talent and so much fun. 'Wish they were all still with us.
I wish someone would step forward and give us this music again!
Quando la musica trasmette gioia... Braviiii! Grandissima performance! 😊🤗😍😍😘😘🎶🎸🎸🎶💘❤️💋💯💯💯
Real texano music I had the honor to meet Freddy a year before he passed I also met flaco a couple years ago in Northern California.. these two men are real legens.
That was a blessing.
That's amazing! I know a few older gentlemen in the RGV who grew up with Freddy. It's fun to hear their stories from when growing up together. Where Freddy used to live, etc...
@@gretchenl.2781 That's so cool! I was told my father in law was a cousin of Freddy's, he's from the RGV, but I never got a chance to ask him about it before he passed. away.

@@franciscocruz-mendoza6050 for me as a kid born on the late 80’s I grew up in the 90’s listening to this because my dad and his friends would jam to music like this when we had barbecues, or big picnics, or going to the bar in the town i grew up in! Always makes me miss those times.

HEYY, HEYY....ARRIVA TEXAS TORNADOS...FREDDY FENDER
Man! To say no one makes music like this is an understatement. BUT it is true... Long live the Texas Tornados vatos!!
I listened to this at school because we had a Mexican ban come over to are school and this is stuck in my head!💖
First time I heard the Texas Tornados was on Detroit Public Radio many moons ago. I loved it. I went out and bought the cd later that day. MY whole family gets up and dances around to it when ever it's on, including our too cool for everything kids.
Yee-ha! Saw the Texas Tornados years ago at the country fair in the Imperial Valley of CA...that used to be called the Valley of Death, because it's only slightly higher but still below sea level like Death Valley and only a tiny bit cooler....They had people dancing in the stands...so Fun!
I used to play this song on the jukebox at El Palenque when I was eight years old and eating beef fajita tacos w/pico de gallo. Ah, good times. Oh, in San Antonio of course.
Loved these vatos! What a collection of music heroes! Doug and Flaco are two greats of their respective instruments and, of course, Freddie's voice is iconic...! Que vivan Los Tornados!
Man, these guys brought different influences and made fun sing along, drink along music. Thanks. Freddy te extrañamos.

Don't understand the thumbs downs - obviously they are not fans. I saw them "in concert" at a german restaurant in the 90's that had an outdoor space that had a small stage. Saw Freddie eating tortillas before they came on stage. Just about everyone was dancing - live music and you are 2 feet from the stage is a huge boost of dancing feet! We had so much fun - even doing the bunny hop. They put on a great show - Augie, Flaco, Freddy and Doug.
I had the honor of attending one concert in Tucson. Most memorable. Freddy and Flacco were (are) the best.
The best of Tex-mex and South Texas Swing
Hey baby qué pasó... Great song. Regards from Spain.

English language for business. The German for war. The French for love. The Italian to sing. And Spanish ... the Spanish language is to speak to God.
Well , I am white, and I love this song .I love any song that the Texas tornadoes or Freddy Fender sing . Those guys are the best . listen to them every night .

Cousin Augie gettin' down. Flaco, Doug, and Freddy gettin' it too.
Texas Tornados was my first concert when I was 5. Got to dance on stage a bit and fell asleep in my dad's arms at the front rail by the stage, lol. Still remember meeting Flaco and the crew on the tour bus being so little. Texas legends right here.
