    Magnus is soo cute... I have a small one. Those tips are great and as I'm listening I saying its the same for a sweater for a person. Incidentially, bottom up sweaters are easier, in my opinion. I've tried both, but I prefer bottom up - they go faster too.

      I much prefer bottom up too - top down seems to take forever and it's hard to keep motivated.

    • @Stettafire
      @Stettafire Před 3 lety +2

      I've heard bottom up is easier cus near the end you decrease as opposed to increase. If you increase when you're tired it can be hard to stay motivated. So you want the later stages of a project to become easier not harder.

    It’s funny - I’ve always knitted “by eye” and without a pattern. In fact I didn’t even know there WERE written patterns until relatively recently. I’ve always measured, knitted samples, done a lot of arithmetic and then was off to the races. In college I knitted hats and mittens for friends - put their names and other designs on them - and some were admittedly more successful than others. But all were done with great enthusiasm and were received with pleasure from friends.

I have been crocheting for years but I am now inspired to take up knitting as I would like to make some Christmas balls. However, I have always found it hard to follow patterns. For the most part, I learn by watching - which has proven to be somewhat difficult as I am left-handed and most tutorials are done by right-handed instructors. Any suggestions on the best way to start this project? Thank you. Shannon Wilson

      If you are knitting for the first time why not just teach yourself to knit right handed.It is a new skill and you won't have to relearn the muscle memory.Id try knitting something flat before you try in the round like balls etc.Knitting is more two handed than crochet so it might not be that hard.Id prolly do English throwing vs Continental if you are learning with your non dominant hand.Its just sticks and string give it a try!😁🇨🇦
