I will never understand why people do not like this man. If raw emotion was human this would be him, with an phenomenal voice.
We lost our first child, a girl, stillborn. This was almost 50 years ago and it still hurts so much. I'm sorry James, but I can't let my wife hear this song, it would finish her.
I always have tears in my eyes on this song and Monsters. This is the man who saved humankind from WWIII, while being in the military. We need more humans like him.

@@kanga66prso it was a british officer in command of nato forces moving in on i think pristina airport, refused to engage with russian troops that had occupied airport, US General Clark up for conflict Brit guy Jackson refused and resolved without force, very brief summary, but Jackson said am not starting WW3 for you, and Blunt later said he would have disobeyed Clarks order too, the Russians had played part in brokering peace in the conflict in Kosovo, dont think US impressed with Jackson but he got the desired result peacefully, he has a very interesting military background, but also obviously capable of seeing bigger picture and engaged his brain rather than stomping all over the Russians, glad there were soldiers like him around,

@@kanga66prso Yes, the version of jensmith3719 can be found in Wikipedia. Jackson is in fact general Michael Jackson (with the same name as the late king of pop). He was the British commander of Blount (the real family name of J Blunt.) This was in 1999 during Yeltsin's presidency. Long time ago I read a magazine article with a slightly different version. There were lots of different NATO units on the field and in such case the command is taken by the officer of highest rank. This happened to be captain James Blunt. So Wesley Clark ordered HIM to attack the Russians. Blunt refused and proposed a siege instead, which worked. He was backed by Jackson instead of being court-marshalled. There were other heroes through the years from both sides who prevented WW III and a list can be found in Wiki.

I don't understand the people who try to claim James Blunt is 'faking' the emotion in his voice, or 'just acting' when he sings his songs. At the very least, I well up every time I hear them, so why on earth wouldn't he feel the emotions of an experience *he actually lived through* every time he sings a song he wrote about it?
