If u buy a book with a credit does that book stay in your library forever or is it like a rental where you can no longer access it after a certain period of time?
I do have a question those limited offers at the end of the year are available worldwide? Or is it only for the people who live in a specific region?
Hii just got my Audible account last Christmas and have finished 3 or so books so far. However, it's not letting me return the last book I read. I wasn't aware that each book has a credit (I'm a uni student so I figured it was like a library card) Is there anyway to remedy this? I intend to buy more credits later on but will I be encountering this problem over and over again? How many times can I return a book per credit? How will I know what titles can or cannot be returned? Send help pls 😭
how long does the book take to unlock in your library after you have purchased it. i have a lock next to all my books and i can’t unlock them
@@jasrajsidhu6277 Good question! It stays in your library forever. It's not a rental or anything like that.
Thank you! New subscriber here. My first time watching your channel here. Your CZcams videos help! You communication is clear, concise, informative, and helpful! You sound like a professional at this! Keep up the great work Sam!😊
Thanks for watching and subscribing, Marianna! 🙏🏼 I very much appreciate it and hope my videos continue to help you out.
I learned a lot about Audible from your video. Thank you.
I appreciate your viewership, glad I was able to help you out!
This is a great video for someone who didn't understand the idea behind audible at all before, so thank you. I do have to say, I'm not in the US, so I use Storytel for my audiobooks. Sotrytel works like netflix does, which is a great advantage. You pay around $10 and get access to their entire library, so paying $15 for only 1 credit seems really expensive to me. What you're saying makes sense that paying $15 for a $50 audiobook looks like an attractive deal, but honestly in such a case I'd just consider purchasing the physical copy, because if I don't like it I'll just re-sell it and get some of the invested money back. The only disadvantage I can think of of not having an Audible subscription is not having access to the Originals. So honestly, I don't think it's worth it when considering the competition. I know for example in the US, if you have a library card you can download Libby and get a fair share of audiobooks for free. Scribd & Hoopla are also good alternatives, so Audible is really not the only option and I think probably not the best value for the money paid when comparing. What do you think?
Storytel may be a better option for saving money due to unlimited listening based on a monthly subscription but it’s unavailable in America where I (and a vast majority of my viewers) live.
Some things people find themselves missing out on without Audible are full ownership of the books you get even when you stop paying for your membership, and what Audible seems to have over every single audiobook listening platform regardless of price is selection. Every source I looked at cited their overall collection being much bigger than Storytel’s - not to mention the fact that Audible is available in more languages, many feel they have a more intuitive interface/setup, and their customer service is top-notch. Some people care more about these than others which I think is a good thing because it allows for the success of Audible’s competitors in other markets/niches!
I can’t recommend or even use Storytel because of where I live, but if I could, I’d still use Audible because I review books on this channel and most of them are contemporary titles which hit Audible’s unmatched, gargantuan selection as soon as they’re published. I also personally can’t stand reading so it wouldn’t make sense for me to buy then resell any books I’m not a fan of.
So the fact that I’ve made over 20 videos now about Audible and this is the first time I’ve heard of Storytel tells me all I need to know regarding why. Audible is nothing close to the only option and it’s not the best for everyone but I think for many it’ll come down to personal preference and consumer needs. Thanks for your input and insight!
Hi! I love your info. I would like to ask, does storytel have plenty of english audiobook options?
Thank you. I’m almost a senior citizen and I know if I want to know something about tech, a younger person can save me time. I wanted to be clear on what I could get with my credit. Thanks for making it clear for me.
Thanks for watching, Lisa! If you have any other questions about how credits work, I made a whole video about it here.

Super helpful! You answered all my questions!!! Thanks so much
Thanks for watching!
This is a very helpful video. I've been thinking about Audible for a while, but I wasn't sure about how it worked, especially credits, but you explained everything very well.
Thank you, sir.
Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy the app as much as I do. ☺️
This energy is everything lol. New sub
Thanks for watching! I’ll make sure to keep the energy up!
Scribd (Audible’s direct competitor) is my preferred service. It doesn’t have all of the titles audible has, but it’s a monthly rate which grants access to everything: audiobooks, e-books, podcasts, and documents uploaded by users (which can range from sheet music, dissertations, essays, poems, and full books).
I’m a music teacher, so the presence of sheet music, method books, and instrument transcriptions is what attracted me to the app. But the audiobooks have become one of my favorite aspects of the subscription, and if more people gave their money to support that feature, it would become more prevalent.
That being said, I am currently on an Audible trial, because there were two audiobooks that are only on Audible that I just HAD to have, so we’ll see how that goes.
It sounds like Scribd is definitely the better choice for you being a music teacher. This may sound like common sense but if I were you I would cancel the Audible subscription as soon as you’re able to. That way you can keep the Audible books (you do get to keep the books forever even if you cancel the subscription) and you don’t have to pay them a monthly fee.
@@SamuelEarth thanks for the tip!
Thanks for your comment, you've truly helped me, didn't know Scribd existed.
@@PhuBear you’re welcome! more people should know the alternatives and scribd is a fantastic one. Enjoy!
Dude!!! Totally subbing you!!! Awesome video! Plus,,, at the very beginning of your video I was thinking, "wow, this dude talks really fast like I do. I wonder if he has ADHD." Then I get to the part in your video when you talked about your attention span 🤣🤣 And I thought, "I knew it! Nailed it!" Your video was not only helpful and informative but also funny and held my attention greatly!!! Thanks my fellow ADHD-er!💖🥰
Thanks so much!! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙏🏼 It’s a lot of information but it can be really boring to learn about so I do what I can to not have that happen lol.
Awesome job! Thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
And yes your tutorials are very good precise and informative I didn't know about an annual membership I will look into that one
Thanks Ruth!! I appreciate it. If you’re big on Audible listening, it doesn’t matter whether you like their originals or not - you will save PLENTY in total from how much you get per credit.
Lots of good info. Thanks!
No problem! Thanks for watching. 🙏🏼
Thanks dude! 👍🏼 keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
I was looking at audible because I don’t like reading but the last couple of books I did read were my favorites like The Outsiders, The Giver, and The Boy in Striped Pajamas. And I want to find them on audible but I didn’t know if it was worth it or not. Thanks for the good vid.
I’d say it’s worth it! They’re all on Audible. I just checked.
Very detailed! Thanks
Thanks for watching, Simon! I appreciate it.
Thank you for sharing, helpful. I have all four of my books available via audible.
Thanks for watching!
it helps to understand that I get to keep the book. I have used Audible for a long time also, but I never bought a membership bc I wanted to keep the books and misunderstood the process. I was just buying audio books through Audible. Their website does a poor job explaining. - I bought the membership after watching your video and my badges are retro-active 😁😁, I have 12 already
That’s so awesome! I’m glad you’re enjoying the membership. It’s unfortunate that it’s not too well-known online exactly how it works, but I figure the more videos I make about Audible the more the information spreads. The more you listen with a membership, the more you save! 💵
Thank you so much! I couldn’t for the life of me work out how to get a book without credits, or how to get credits !!
No problem! Thanks for watching.
Got a pain in my head, twice, trying to get Audible Support to explain their membership options to me. If it’s that confusing, methinks it’s intended to be.
Very nice video. Ive only listened to a book audibly by getting a CD set from my local lubrary. It was Don Quixote. Enjoyed it. LONGGGGGG book.
Audible’s the best in my opinion! Local libraries are definitely a great option if there’s only one book you want to listen to every now and then.
Not sure if this is only for the UK but they have just one membership option for £9,99/€12,99 a month, gives one credit, the plus benifits and also limits the prices of all books to a max of £7,99/€9,99 a piece (or lower) so if the normal price of a book is €100, it is now €9,99. In the Netherlands i can only use the UK version of audible btw.
Thank you for the insight! I'm sure viewers in UK and the Netherlands will appreciate it!
Ive been slacking on my membership! This is a godsend dying for new books for months and theyve been there the whole time. Pain.
4:29 “Honorable diddy” that didn’t age well 😂😂😂
Yeaaaaaah I’m still getting comments about that. ☠️☠️☠️
Hi, great video. I do have 2 questions.
Question 1:
If I cancel my subscription to audible. Do I still keep my library and the books that I've paid for, or do I lose them?
Question 2:
If I'm on an airplane, do I have to download the books onto my phone, or can I just listen to them in Airplane mode?
Thank you for your help. Awesome video.
Thanks, Debra! Here are my answers:
1. If you cancel your subscription, you DO keep your library and the books you’ve paid for. You do NOT lose them.
2. If you’re on an airplane in airplane mode, I know that you can listen to Audible but I’m pretty sure it’s only the books in your library that have been downloaded. What I’d suggest just to be safe is make sure that whatever books you plan to listen to on the plane, you download those before having to turn airplane mode on on your phone if that makes sense.
Thanks again! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for some of the features that you showed on your audible app don’t show up on mine. I’m using it on a little iPod touch so maybe that’s why. But I also have a audiobook subscription to scribd and it’s one price and you can listen to anything they have they listen to as much as you want as often as you want so I really like that also unfortunately their selection is not quite as good as audible but they do have a fair price. I think it’s 1099 a month. Anyway, thanks for doing this video.
No problem! Yeah - an iPod Touch might be missing some of them depending on the generation or if there are software updates that can’t support all the functions on Audible. Any app/program like Scribd with a lower price or better proposition as far as all-you-can-listen is very likely missing on something else more important to a lot of consumers like selection which definitely evens out the playing field.
I care a lot more about selection because I mainly review books on this channel and I only listen to audiobooks so Audible is all I use. I probably couldn’t get away with a different app and if I did, I’m sure I’d be paying close to twice as much in total for what I listen to.
Responding from Ireland at 11:14 in the morning. Really enjoyed your video and I have to say I enjoy audible on a daily basis too. The one thing I have been trying to find recently is a list of what I spent my previous credits on do you know if this is possible?
Thanks for watching! It’s so great to connect with people from all over the world. Personally I almost only buy books with credits so to I can find that information just looking at my library, but unfortunately Audible doesn’t have something like “recent purchases” where you could maybe filter it by Audible credit use or debit card use but if you only buy books with credits I’m sure it wouldn’t come to mind. I hope that helps!
Hi, I have a question...if I want to gift an Audible book to someone in a different country. How does that work? Must they have an Audible membership account to cash in their book? It is not practical to ship them the physical hard cover but I also don't want to impose them a new expense of a monthly membership fee if that is the case. What do you suggest?
Thank you bro !
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it.
Great video! What is your fav audiobook? I love this so much!
Thanks Joseph! I appreciate it. My favorite audiobook is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I actually made a video reacting to negative reviews of it, here’s a link to it! czcams.com/video/XL_rFa87gbM/video.html

Exactly what I needed to hear.
When I hear "membership" I expect to pay a upfront fee and have full access for a limited time.
But hearing that this is NOT how this works, is good.
So no need to subscribe if Im only interested in a few books.
Really seems like a dumb deal on Audibles part.
I would stick around if I had access like a real membership.
But now I am just going to buy the 4 books I want & not likely to return or explore audibles titles afterwoods. Because I got what I want.
& Im Joe Smoe. Someone who doesnt read or listen to long form stuff.
& Audible is missing out on folks like me.
Because Id pay to have unrestricted full access to everything.
but instead
Im just paying for a few things and never returning.
More people NEED to understand this. Audible is focused on people who are going to return. People who only need a few books really don’t need to. If they decide to, that option is literally always there, but what matters is that people know about it and the fact that it’s an option.
No reputable audiobook platform has “full access”. Audible’s version of this is probably the most affordable and closest to it, but until audiobooks are decentralized to the point where they’re fully accessible like music or movies on a monthly basis, I’m expecting Audible to eventually make this happen in a profitable enough way to meet the needs of the consumers they lose who demand it.
Enjoyed you video thanks. Is there away of highlighting record bits on the go. Thinking more educational books etc. if if others have quick work around. Etc. thanks again.
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure I understand the question. You mean like bookmarks?
Good Video, Thanks - When a book is downloaded to one of my Apple devices, does the file go to my iCloud storage or is it resident on my internal storage? Can I fill up my internal storage with Audible books? After downloading, can the book be shared to other devices?
Thanks for watching! It goes to internal storage but I’m sure there are apps or programs you can use to store them on iCloud.
Thanks Sam. Very informative.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. If you cancel your membership do you still have access to books you have bought?
Yes absolutely.
Thank you for so funny guide through Audible. Really most funny i found so far, made me laugh many time.
And Thank you for all information.
I am audible fan anyway, but did not know what is in audible really.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Sam 🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺👍🏻

This was very helpful. I have subscribed but
When I open audible pull up library list
Select a book start listening
That book shows at bottom of screen just as I saw yours here.
When I'm done how do I remove that book I was listening to?
Can I only pause and start till book is done?
Or i can only choose another book to change?
Why can't I just close it at the bottom and see only my library list?
Am I gonna see your answer here?
Thanks for watching and subscribing! To my knowledge that’s always there even after you finish the book. I got used to it after a while.
The thing that pisses me off about Audible is that they will sell you the first book in a series and they don't have book 2, much less the rest of the series available. God only knows when they're going to get the 2nd book, much less the rest of the series. So I'm invested in the story, but now I have to go find another book series and hope that I don't have to wait ages for it.
That’s frustrating and I totally get it. Netflix and Hulu do the SAME exact thing and it drives me and my fiancé nuts.
Thanks, I learned some new things from you! I have a question. I always was able to listening audiobooks offline. Recently this stopped. And this is a huge problem, since I use several books at my work (relaxation for my students), and I don’t have internet in this room (I use my iPad).
The weird thing is that I tried to contact Audible, and I didn’t get an answer. The books are downloaded, but I received a message that I am offline. I thing this happened after an update of my iPad. Do you know what I can do to solve this problem? Thanks, and I am subscribed now!😊
No problem! I would be bothered by that too. It sounds frustrating. Have you called Audible about it or just reached out via email? Every time I call them, they answer unless they’re busy.
You might have to contact Apple or ask someone at the Apple Store about it if it has anything to do with the software update.
@@SamuelEarth Thanks for your reply. Suddenly it began to work again, I don’t know why!
I have a downloaded AudioBook (mp3) file. How do I get into Audible library (what directory to put into) in my Fire tablet, so I can listen with Audible app pre-installed on my Amazon Fire Tablet? Do I need pay a subscription to listen (owned AudioBook) and can I listen offline (downloaded file)?
Great video. I have a question thay wasnt covered in the video.
I have a personal cell phone and a work cell phone. Am i able to access use the app and my account on the two separate cell phones?
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. Good question - it should work. I don’t see a reason why not, as long as both phones are smart phones and you can download the app with them.
Hey Sam, which e-book or audiobook service in 2023 offers listening along while reading a book?
None to my knowledge! I’m still waiting on that to become an Audible feature.
Will you please cover the archive/delete features for iOS devices? My older books remain viewable after I “remove from device.” So much clutter on phone library. Wading through 600+ books! Acch!
I recently started using Audible on my laptop (Win 10) to help me drop off to sleep. I just want to listen to 1 chapter per session (about an hour) but I can't find that option in the 'Audible cloud player' that launches when you click on your chosen audio book in your library. I've found the sleep timer / 'End of chapter' in the player 'Profile' when I launch Audible via my Android Tablet but there's no 'Profile' in the cloud player on the laptop. This seems like such a simple request but I just can't find an option for it and it's really frustrating.
Your best bet would be calling their helpline at 1-888-283-5051.
Love your delivery, I would love to locate free audible books on audible please
Thanks! Do you have a membership?
Hello! I just downloaded audible on my iPhone and I’m a non member, but I could download podcast episodes without any issue or having to pay for any of their services (and I don’t see any mention of a free trial anywhere, I just signed up and was on the app without fanfare). Is there anything I might be missing or is this just another feature that I shouldn’t worry about? Because I got it so I could download podcasts to listen to when I’m out of any cell or internet range and it seems like I can do this without needing to pay for any subscription.
To be frank I’m not sure. I haven’t heard of having access to podcasts with no membership. If you’re getting that, kudos to you! Enjoy the podcasts.
awesome stuff thanks buddy!

When you purchase a book, do you own it forever and can you listen to it whenever and as many times as you want?
Yes and yes!
What about if you cancel your account?
@bjwhite1333 from what I have read in the Ts &Cs, you still have access to that audio book if you cancel your subscription.
But obviously you still need a log on and go through their platform to play it.
So it's yours to keep as long as you have access to audible.
As long as you have access to Audible, you get to keep it and listen to it whenever.
Thanks for your video, it was helpful. One question I have and have been looking into. I come across some gems as I’m listening to books but I’m often doing something else and can’t make a note of the thought/idea/concept. Is there a way of bookmarking an audiobook or better yet highlighting a passage in an audiobook? It’s almost like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to go back to find that phrase, or quote etc.
Please ignore my question. I just saw your video on bookmarking audible. Thanks again!!
Please ignore my question. I just saw your video on bookmarking audible. Thanks again!!

If i purchase booms with my credits and decide to cancel my membership down the road are the books i purchased still mines to keep
Here is my answer in video format! czcams.com/video/2GWuKaW-lmE/video.htmlsi=wE9XwbboF18z_0oc
wow this video was so interesting and helpful! i have an amazon fire tablet, so on the audible app there, how can i figure which audio books are for free? THANKS!
Good question! I imagine it’s the same as on a smartphone where it’ll just allow you to start listening to it or add it to your library. I hope that helps! If not, I suggest calling the Audible helpline at 1-888-283-5051.
I dont understand. I just want to pay a subscription and listen to the books i want. Is that in the membership? Or do i pay a membership and only get 1 credit for one book i want? Also are there any ads at at in a paid memberbership?
so do you have to pay the monthly fee and then pay for every book you listen too? Or are some books included in the monthly subscription and then you pay for others?
Good question! It’s actually a little bit of both. The shortest simplest explanation I can give you is that you’re paying for one book a month and if that’s not enough, you can always pay for more at a discounted rate.
However, as long as you’re paying the monthly fee, some books are actually included in the subscription like you mentioned.
I use to read all the time, but tried an audible once while walking and loved it.Are you only allowed to get one book a month. Is there a certain time you can keep the book out? In other word is it like a library? I can go through a ton of books a month, but didn’t see the kind of books l like.I’ve never messed around audible programs before and was looking for one similar to a library. You talked so fast l couldn’t absorb what you were saying and had no way to compare with others. If you had just left out the part about credits and started at the basic Idea of it,how many can you get a month,is there an amount of time you have to keep a book out.Once you had established all that then you could explain the credit thing. As a new person to all of this.I’m lost.
Good stuff...thanks
Thanks for watching!
Hi Sam! Love your channel! I have a question for you. Audible is a streaming service. I was in a place where the internet was iffy at best. I started the download, and was able to listen. After doing this i saw that 99 % of internal memory. I dont want to clog up on my phone. How do I go back to streaming the book? Can I safely erase the this book from my ohone and still get acess to streaming? Thanks in advance for the Help!
Do you have to download the book to listen after the purchase? I don’t want to download but whenever I click on the title it automatically starts to download.
I understand that. Yes you do.
I'm pissed cus I was listening to a book on Spotify and found out that there's a time limit to audiobooks so I got an audible subscription to resume the series but it's stupid cus you pay the membership but you still have to buy the books?! That's insane!
I understand what you’re saying - I’ve been told this too many times to count. The thing is, if you do your research, you may find that platforms less expensive than Audible either have WAY smaller selections, aren’t available in America (and many other countries), or both. That being said, the membership actually includes books.
Most people don’t listen to more than one audiobook a month so their most popular membership option gives you one credit per month that you can use on any audiobook that you get to keep forever even if you cancel your membership and if you want to buy more books during that month, you can always buy extra credits at a discounted rate. Even if you don’t, books are discounted (sometimes HEAVILY, like 70-80% or more).
The amount of benefits is staggering but as a user of 8yrs, I’ll admit that the way Audible’s business model works certainly benefits the more avid listeners more than anyone else. In other words, the more books you listen to, the more an Audible membership would benefit you.
Again, I get that it sounds insane, but audiobooks haven’t been decentralized like music, movies, and shows, so if you’re looking for a monthly all-you-can-listen platform with the same selection Audible does, let me know!
Hi! I’ve got a promotional offer of 3 credits for no money at all! I’ve redeemed those and got myself 3 audiobooks. Now if I don’t renew or pay for my audible account, will those remain forever in my account? And can I listen one book and again return it to listen multiple audiobooks with one credit?
Yes they’ll remain in your account forever unless returned. Regarding the returns, please check out my video on Audible’s return policy. Here’s a link! czcams.com/video/6WzwuA-RV50/video.html
While having a membership, I purchased a few books with credits. Now that I do not have membership, one of those books is locked and just about finished with super frustrating when you help?
This shouldn’t be happening. I’d suggest calling their help line at 1-800-283-5051 to sort it out!
Hi, just wondering if you get an audiobook with a credit do you have lifetime access to in then?
Yes you do.
If I download audible on my laptop windows 10, can I put it on a sd and listen to it on my fire? or visa versa.
I don’t know to be honest. I don’t cover how to export/download anything from Audible on this channel that involves third-party software or hardware but I’m sure it’s worth a Google search!
Lol at the Diddy book.. 😅
😂😂😂
If I later cancel my audible subscription, do I still have access to my titles to download?
Yes, Anthony. You get to keep all the titles you bought.
Do you keep the books indefinitely after using a credit?
You can keep the books as long as you want after using a credit.
6:29 Yes, I do know my name😄You guessed it. It's Jimothy!!
Wait...I'd better double check.
Ahahaha! Thanks for commenting.
The audible app is taking up too many Gigabitrs on my iphone. Is there a way to remove books from this app
My best guess is tap the “…” on the right side of the screen and then “Remove from device”.
If you hit “Select” in the upper right hand corner of the screen, you can remove multiple books at a time.
I still don't get how it works. Do you pay and then listen or do you pay for the subscription to get a discount on an audiobook?
Good question! It’s actually a little bit of both.
The simplest shortest explanation I can give you is that you basically pay for one book a month and if that’s not enough, you can always pay for more at a discounted rate. There’s a lot more to it than that but I cover the majority of it in this video.
I may have missed it in this video, but can you ‘bookmark’ in Audible?
Great question! The answer is yes and here’s another video I did on how. czcams.com/video/8ZHC5XzbaFQ/video.htmlsi=ArK1stAEqAoPuz4V NOTE: the actual tutorial starts at 0:37!
I’ve purchased but have not been able to listen to two selections as they have parts or sections 1,Joe dispenses “YOU ARE THE PLACEBO”. They’ve taken my credit but I’ve yet to be able to listen?? What to do??
After I finish a book (I listen at night to put me to sleep) there are two very loud beeps that wake me up. How do I get rid of those awful beeps? Thank you in advance!
I haven’t heard of this before. I think your best bet might be to call their helpline. 1-888-283-5051.
Hi i'm not sure you can help me with this but lets suppose I use audible on my android phone and next year decide to change to an iphone. Will i lose my books? I noticed that they have different prices for their subscriptions depending on the device you're using. Another question is, can i listen to my books off the app, like a mp3 file? Suppose Audible files bankruptcy in a couple of years and I had a lot of books bought on my account. I'd be losing hundreds or thousands of dollars on books i bought and that they said i could keep forever. Thanks for your time
I’m just about 100% sure you will not lose any books switching from Android to iPhone and that’s because you’ll still have the same mobile app under the same account, so the same books in the same library should accompany it.
There’s no way to download them as an mp3 file (at least legally to my knowledge lol).
@@SamuelEarth Thanks for answering. I got kind of confused because of the different prices on their website.
My phone is out of space and audible is the reason got rid of everything else i can. Do you have any tip to remove from phone. Will i still have access to them?
I’m not sure I understand the question. Do you mean access to Audible or the audiobooks?
I don't know if you will see this. But HOW do you add a new credit card to it. Like mine has expired and i need to add a new credit card but I don't know how since it updated.
I know how to do this and it’s very easy - do you need to know how to do it on the phone or computer?
I’ll have to make a video on this soon, because my card is actually expiring soon and I’ll have to get a new one lol.
Can I return a book after listening to it fully & retain my credit, and still have the returned book 'saved' in my library as a history of the books I've ever listened to, if not 'available'?
If you return the book, you can get your credit back but you won’t have the book in your library anymore even as available. I’m sure you can buy it again, but when you return the book, after all, you do return the book - not keep it.
I definitely thought you could listen to as many books as you want but in order to buy it you’d need credits. I have a 3 month free subscription and just finished using my credit, but I cant to listen to anymore books unless I buy more credits or wait to next month??
Buy the way, I feel that you should have more subscribers when I see the awesome way how you present your stuff. Did you try already with true crime? Like That Chapter? I am listing to True Crime all the time since years. Big audience for sure. Just a thought.
Thanks so much! True crime is interesting but full books about it aren’t exactly the type we’d review on this channel, unless it kind of blends into the genres that are. I LOVE true crime shows though lol. My fiancé and I watch them a lot.
Can Audible be cast to your TV or Roku speaker?
I have a niche question: I don't own a smart phone, and won't be gettin gone. Is there any way for me to use Audible by downloading books to my Mac and listening to them through the audiobooks section of my iPod? I know I can purchase them outright and do this, but is there a way to listen to Audible's free content through downloading while paying the $15 a month?
Unfortunately if you’re not listening on your computer, you’ll need to use a smartphone. Otherwise this would require putting audiobooks on an mp3 player which is NOT something I specialize in on this channel. That’s 3rd-party business!
How do I get audio book with the literature? I can't just listen. I have to follow the reading
Unfortunately that isn’t a feature with Audible. I’ve been waiting for them to do that, hopefully it’ll happen some time in the future!
How about if I cancel my suscription? will I still be able to listen to the books I have bought using the credits?
Yes! If you cancel your membership, you get to keep every book you bought.
I use the CloudLibrary for both Ebooks and audiobooks but the list of certain authors works is very limited. Does Audible work like the CloudLibrary where you choose a book and then when done, return it and then get another book to listen too? The Audio website is too confusing and I don’t want to keep the book, I just want to enjoy listening to it and then listen to another book.
I understand but that isn’t how Audible works. Typically you just buy a book and keep it for listening at any time later on. It doesn’t serve the same type of purpose a library might, where you grab a book or audiobook and hand it back in for another one after you finish it.
It’s unfortunate that they don’t have such an option. I imagine consumers with preferences/needs such as the ones you’re describing would benefit from it, given Audible seems to have a bigger variety of books than virtually ANY other platform.
@@SamuelEarth ok thank you
Okay amazing video but one last question is it just audio books because I don’t really
Like audio book id rather read the words instead of listening to a narrator because for me it goes in one ear and out the other
It’s just audiobooks. Believe me, I’ve been waiting for Audible to add that feature!
I want 1 particular book on audio. Can I just buy the audiobook and listen without the app?
Probably not on your phone but you should be able to listen on Audible’s site on your computer.
So basically it depends on the membership plan that which audiobook you got on which type of discount. So it's not like after membership you will get every book for free.
What do you mean? I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking.
@@SamuelEarth let's take an example, i am willing to listen "haunting Adeline" and it's for 800 and something rupees. My question is if i take membership then i will get a discount on this book but not fully free. Right?
In America, the answer is yes. I’m sure it’s the same in India but I’d suggest looking at the help section of their website.
Yeah it’s a scam honestly
I feel so stupid for having to ask, but I don’t understand how this works when you want a specific audiobook/books. I want to listen to the hunger games series audiobooks, I don’t want/care to own them. Can I do that with the 7.95 membership? Or do I need to do the 14.95 because you get a credits every month?
Believe it or not, this is far from a stupid question (in a good way, of course) and no one in the comments has asked anything like it before.
Audible, when it comes to extremely popular series’ like Hunger Games, is very much about the ownership of audiobooks. In other words, you’ll basically have to buy the series.
If you just want to listen to them and want to spend as little as possible, you can get the trial, get one for free, and when they bill you, you get another with the monthly credit. Then you can buy 3 more at a discounted rate (they only let you buy 3 at a time, not sure why), and you’ll have the whole series with one credit to spare.
Then you can cancel the membership so they don’t charge you again, after which you WILL get to keep the books forever. They don’t disappear from your library and you can listen to them whenever. Altogether it should cost around $45 - $14.95 for the first month after the trial, and around $30 for the 3 extra credits.
If that wouldn’t work for you, you’re certainly welcome to search for another platform that’ll let you just listen to them for less. I don’t think that exists, but I only have experience with Audible so I wouldn’t know 100%. I hope this helps! If not, best of luck.
@@SamuelEarth Thank you so much for the reply, for answering how much it would be and how to do it! That was incredibly informative and kind of you.
can you buy an audible book without a membership, and if you can the audiobook in the app?
You can buy an Audible book without a subscription. The main reason I recommend a subscription is that all books have a subscription and non-subscription rate, so they’re usually much cheaper with a subscription.
@Sam Belman thanks for answering my question its very helpful
Hi, Once I purchase a book, can I download it to my PC so I can listen to it. I mean, not within the app, just saving it in my PC.
Hello! Do you mean as mp3?
@@SamuelEarth yes
How do household members log in? Do they have an email address or use yours? How do you keep your library separate from what you share? Thank you!
Thanks for asking! The closest thing to what you’re asking is what’s called Family Library Sharing.
Here’s a link with more info on the subject until I make a video going more in-depth. help.audible.com/s/article/what-is-family-library-sharing?language=en_US
Hi Sam....I have a strange question. My Audible library has over 1400 books. How do I transfer that library to my iCloud account. Thank you....
If you’re talking about transferring it to your iCloud storage, I don’t think there’s a way to do this without external or third party software.
I purchased most of my books, but if I stop my subscription they don't let me access my library... that's not a good thing. How come I don't OWN my books??? I paid for them! Thanks for your help Ok, so I watched your vid about this subject.. thanks.... But can I still listen on the Audible app? somehow it looked to me like I can't... sorry if this is a dumb question
Thanks for watching! I’m happy to help. If you stop your subscription, you can still access the library. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to - especially if your device and the Audible app are up to date. I suggest consulting their helpline at 1-888-283-5051.
Hello SAM! New on Audible and loving it so much that I purchased a subscription as a gift for my sister, but as it turns out she has one already. I Googled and it says if the recipient of the subscription returns to sender the subscription is credited. How does the recipient decline the gift and send back to sender (subscription- not book)?!
Hi Martine! It’s awesome that you’re enjoying Audible. I’d recommend calling their helpline at 1-800-283-5051. I think they have a chat feature as well.
@@SamuelEarth Thank you Sam!
Can you build up a bank of credits or do they expire / use it or lose it after each month?
Credits expire after 365 days. The most I’ve ever had at once is 24, but that’s because I have the 24-credit annual plan.
Can you buy an audiobook without having a membership? And how if so?
Yes you can! You would go to the book and click “buy”.
You’d have to use an electronic form of payment like credit or debit card but if you’re only on Audible for one book you can always just do the free trial, download one book, and cancel it before they bill you. That way you get the book, and you don’t even have to pay for it.
Currently have the 3 month trial. Is there a better alternative app to audible?
My personal answer is no but I do recommend doing whatever research you can to find out which works best for you because it’s not the only one out there and there are other options. The thing Audible seems to have over every competitor is selection size.
What MP3 player can you listen to audiobooks on?
On Audible? Anything with the option to download an Audible app - most people use iPhones or Androids.
I bought a book and tried to listen to it, so I pressed "listen now" and then an error came up the I looked to the top right and it said "lockdown enabled". How do I disable the lockdown? Who enabled it and why?
Good questions!! My guess is as good as yours. I’d suggest calling their help line at 1-888-283-5051 to sort out the issue.
So if you want to buy the audible and read along , I will have to buy the book separate?
Unfortunately yes - I’ve gotten this question before but it’s not all that often and I’ve been waiting for them to put out this feature for a while. Hopefully that’ll change in the near future.
