Today I wanted to share my first trimester update! I filmed this when I was 13 weeks pregnant on July 2nd. A lot has happened since then and I'll film another update soon 😊 Thanks for following along with our journey and I'll be back to vlogging soon!

Hi ladies, please read. I know this is 2 years old, but in case you come across this video later. A normal nuchal translucency (NT) measurement during an ultrasound is usually less than 3.5 millimeters. The NT is a pocket of fluid behind the baby's neck that's measured at the junction of the skin and fluid. The measurement is taken in millimeters and is usually taken when the baby's CRL is between 45 and 84 millimeters. For more accurate results, multiple measurements are taken
My nephew had the same exact diagnosis. It was my brother and sister in law’s first baby and it was extremely stressful for them.
My nephew is now about to turn 7 and absolutely typical and perfect. He has developed perfectly since day 1. They told them to terminate the pregnancy and what not. They did not listen to the doctors and we are so happy to have him in our lives!

Did they do a blood test in addition to the Ultrasound?

I'm so glad your story turned out good. I'm pregnant at 41 with out only child. Just saw liquid in the back of the neck on a private ultrsound. We go next week for NT scan. This thing has really rocked my world. I pray that our baby is fine.

I'm going through the exact same thing. They found a thick nuchal on a regular ultrasound. I had my blood work today for genetic testing and I go Monday for the NT ultrasound. Have you gotten results yet I would love to know if everything turned out normal
Yes, we ended up doing the CVS and a Blood test and no Trisomies rare or common. 🎉 Just have to pass the anatomy scan next week but everything good so far!

I would like to ask about the explanation of the nasal bone? had your doctor explain about the nasal bone?
I’m experiencing exactly the same last week with my second pregnancy (NT 4.4mm). That was so tough to accept such news. I did the CVS last Wednesday and the result came back on this Friday, which is normal. I’m still so worried about the other potential risks. Waiting for the 16th week ultrasound to check the NT again. Sending my loves to your little one, and wish you a smooth delivery ❤️❤️

The OP hasn’t responded yet but my baby had a 4.3 scan at 11 weeks. He is here, healthy, and whole. He had a small hole in his heart that cleared up at 4 months. That was it. He also is larger for his age and has a ton of hair on his neck. I honestly think those may have helped throw off the scoring for the test.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that 😢I still remember how overwhelmed and distraught I was when we found out the diagnosis as well. My husband and I decided to do the CVS testing because we wanted to have the peace of mind of knowing what to expect. Thankfully, our little baby is perfectly healthy and has tested negative for all genetic disorders. By my 16 week appointment, the hygroma had resolved itself and I am now carrying a perfectly healthy baby girl! I am 32 weeks now and everything has been great since then. Praying for you and your family to get good news as well!!

What did you do when they told you that your baby have a cystic hygroma? My baby have a cystic hygroma also at 13 weeks and under monitoring by my OB.
We opted to do the CVS test to find out if the baby had any genetic disorders and had a fetal heart echo and anatomy scan to make sure the baby's organs were healthy. We ended up having a perfectly healthy baby and she is now 2 months old!!

Wow I’m going through the exact same thing right now, very scared it’s my first pregnancy and I wish I had a doctor like yours. We were told out baby wasn’t going to make it and that there was absolutely nothing they could do.
I really hope that out baby is okay
We are still waiting on seeing a specialist for the 16 week ultrasound, we had no option to do anything sooner and the suspense is horrible.

I have a positive efts with multiple markers, baby NT is 3.2mm. So stressed and scared. This is my first baby after 1 miscarriage and 1 chemical pregnancy😢. NIPT done and waiting 2 weeks for the result.

I'm 25, and I'm 13 weeks and we got a NT reading of 5mm.
To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. Feeling completely lost...
I'm also at 13 weeks and I am also currently 24.
My NIPT blood test was normal although
My NT result was 3.4
Currently I'm nervous and a bit worried they did refer me to genetics counseling for further testing and also gave me appointments for another ultrasound of the heart.
I've seen other people online with NT results that are bigger than mine and their baby was perfectly fine. So I'm hopefully baby is developing as healthy as can be.
So at this point all we can do is wait for further testing.

We did all the genetic tests and everything came back negative! Our daughter is now 6 weeks old and perfectly healthy! I hope the best for you and your family ❤️

We LOST TWO BABIES with cystic hygroma and NT scan more than 6 we gone option for Termination of pregnency after searching lot options more than 5 gynic doctors suggestions. still my wife not recoverd from that why me she is saying.
