Why did you change the text? It should be: "Sancta Maria, MATER DEI, ora pro nobis peccatoribus" +

Crystal generation. Protestants are ofended by "Mater Dei" and "positive thinking" people are ofended by "mortis nostrae" que también eliminaron...😡

The original score (Arcadelt-Dietsch) contains the text exactly as they sang it. There was an attempt a few years ago by one individual to shoehorn in all the words, and anyone who's ever heard that version has a fairly good idea of why it wasn't actually written like that: it doesn't really fit. In a bit more detail, this was not actually composed as a sacred motet. The music was composed by Arcadelt as the chanson Nous voyons que les hommes, and adapted for the text of the prayer three centuries later by Dietsch. So, no, the text wasn't truncated to please Protestants -- it was truncated because Dietsch wanted to make an Ave Maria setting out of a melody that simply wasn't long enough to fit the whole text in an aesthetically pleasing way.
