- Roy is forging a coat rack from a pitchfork. This is a great blacksmith project to sell, especially since farmhouse decor is in demand. This is a fun diy farmhouse decor project that incorporates repurposing a pitchfork!
COMMENT: What do you think of this rustic coat rack blacksmith project? Do you like forging hooks?

I had a couple extra pitchforks laying around, so I made up a few coat racks. If anyone wants one, I have them discounted for my CZcams viewership... www.christcenteredironworks.com/store/p302/pitchfork_coat_rack.html
I kinda hate to see old tools "repurposed" rather than just repaired/rehandled. But I understand that coat rack customers far outnumber the farmers still feeding loose hay. Thank you for sharing this video.
Just happened to have a broken pitchfork in my scrap metal stack. Finally have a use for it. Thanks Roy
Gotta keep my eyes peeled for some of those
Thanks for the idea. As a landscaper/ blacksmith I have many old tools like this!
Nice up cycling Roy
Fine job
Finally found a good use for a pitch fork. Have a good day!
Great idea. I've got a couple of broken ones hanging around that I was to lazy to throw away, so now I can repurpose them. Thanks.
Love it, now to find the pitchfork !! Wayne
Hi roy thanks for the ideas to make keep up the great work.
Good Evening , Roy

Take Care and Be Safe !

Great project, blacksmith were one of the first to recycle.
Awesome! I've got a pitchfork head, almost identical, to what you used. Now, I might just have to use it for a project. Thanks Roy !!👍😀⚒️❤️
Great job buddy thank you for sharing this be blessed you jess
Love a simple project like this. Thanks for the idea. Its inspiration for me
Amazing. Pitchfork into coat rack.cool project.
Cool idea! Thanks and God Bless you guys!
Are you going to install some kind of forge hood? That cough at 2:11 didn't sound too healthy. God bless you!
I so thought it was going up the other way cool
Nice job. Cool hook
I was wondering why you didn't counter roll the tips of the tines until I saw the final orientation of the fork.
Any suggestions about a garden rake head as coat rack?
So given the composition of the material would the tines also be a good source of material to make small punches and such? Never thought about them being high carbon.
Great idea
I think the asking price, and the sale price are often different things?
👍
I can't remember if you've ever made a video explaining what the green tape on your tongs signified.
I bet it is to mark which tools are his or they signify a set of tools. He gives lessons and that is a good way to keep sets from getting mixed up.
@@garybower1824 ohhh, yeah that makes sense.
i can see why you chose that price but i have to think lower if i make them as they wont buy things for top dollar unless it wins an art show and even then they walk past
When Roy made these in the early days, we would price them at $10 per tine. A 3 tine pitchfork would be $30 and a 5 tine pitchfork would be $50. We sold them pretty easily at those prices. Have a great day! -Jessica
@@ChristCenteredIronworks realistically i could make the forks out of mild steel and make it look old and fancy that would work too
But you didn't make the nails. :)
hmm I hope its not an ancent antique you know those types of things dont grow on trees
Honestly, where do you live that people would pay $60.00 for a bent pitchfork? I'm in the wrong business
