Make your own car skin in 5 minutes - Assetto Corsa custom livery

- Want to know how to make customised skins in under 5 minutes? Well, then watch this full video and soon you’ll be on your way to making your own custom skins. I’m no expert at this and I have practically zero photoshop knowledge, so if I can do them in 5 minutes, trust me, you wouldn’t believe how simple it is.
I’ve also included the download links to these completed skins if you just want to install them anyway.
Required :
1) Content Manager : acstuff.ru/app/
2) Photo editing software - GIMP : www.gimp.org/
The Anime Girl PNG file was downloaded from www.nicepng.com/ourpic/u2t4r5...
For this example, I’ll be using the Kunos Nissan GTR GT3 (ks_nissan_gtr_gt3) and my sample files here will only work with this skin. To install the skin, copy the downloaded folder into your content \ cars \ ks_nissan_gtr_gt3 \ skins folder. Open up Content Manager and you should be able to select the skin.

For anyone having issues with exporting to the DDS file extension, make sure your gimp version is 2.10.34 or newer.
I think it was possible before that update but you had to download a dds extension that allowed gimp to read dds files

Everything worked except the livery is aplied to the car in 100 tiny version as a christmass wrapper instead of 1 livery on full scale. how do I fix this?
Sorry man I have no idea why it does that for you. Perhaps try a different image file and see if it behaves the same?
How do I mirror an image from driver side to passenger side without placing twice and attempting to line it up the same?
I’m actually not sure other than enabling grid lines and aligning it manually. I wasn’t kidding when I said I was a noob when it comes to making custom skins!
there should be a flip horizontally and vertically option and then adjust if necessary
I don't know what I did wrong but the car turned out gray no matter what colour I select in the paintshop after doing this. And yes, I changed to RGB.
how can I export the png image but with a car color ? because whatever I do it's always white like in the video. I want a red paint base for example, how can I do ?
I honestly haven’t tried doing that but I’m guessing you could create a new layer and paint that the color that you want
Otherwise check out what @tapport replied to someone else in the comments who wanted to do something similar
I did every step but when I open CM Showroom the car did not update, is there a reason or fix for this?
Does it work when you start a session with the car? Sometimes the preview doesn't update, but it works fine in game.

Did you manage to sort it out? Greyed out means you probably didn't make any changes to the image file?
The software takes me almost 5 hours to learn so it's not easy for everyone
Took me awhile to get used to using GIMP and I'm definitely not very familiar still. Hope you managed to get your own skin done.
@@play_by_ear I have to say GIMP is a really stupid software.I'm Chinese and I use the software in Chinese but It won't help and still really piss me off.

how do i change the colour of the car from white to black?
I guess you need to add new layer full black below your stickers but above the main texture

I think it should work. You could try to flatten all layers before exporting. You’ll lose any way to edit the black skin later on but that singles out your issue to being something to do with layers
Is there any way to edit over an existing Livery ?
The existing livery will have the existing "decals" on it as a single layer, so you'll need to cover the existing decal with another logo completely. Otherwise you'll probably have to start from scratch.
@@play_by_ear Oh i did edit from Scratch.....Took me like 11.5 hours in one sitting since i saw this video. but was alot of fun tbh.....I am very new to doing Liveries and this video helped me so much. i had 0 knowledge prior. Was because of you my "Friendship Tribute Porsche" is now a thing in my Assetto corsa garage. so Thank you for this very Informative video. My porsche probably look horrendous compared to others but i am proud of it nonetheless.
Does this work for moded mods?
The mod can't be encrypted, otherwise all you'll see is some blue diamond polygons.

I can’t really think of anything other than to make sure you’re selecting the custom skin that you’ve newly created when starting a race.
