Thanks for the video. Are they still running?
Still running strong. There is a slight high pitched wine, sort of like a computer fan. I just ordered a couple more to blow air on my starts so I don't have to use any corded electricity in that greenhouse.
Boy, arent those the cutest little fans you ever want to see?
They dont hardly look big enough to be away from their momma.
I use 2 20" box fans & some hot days even they struggle to keep
the GH under 90.
!
I still have to keep my bottom door vent open on the very hot days. The hottest I recorded in the greenhouse on a day I didn't open the bottom door vent was 112. Happy Gardening!
I was racking my brain thinking how best to build a window with the corrugated panel on the roof to be able to use one of the heat activated automatic window openers, I think this is a far easier and doable without breaking the bank. Thanks again for the great info.
Glad I could help!
First ever video I've watched of yours. I subscribed.
Best wishes with all your projects.
Awesome, thank you! Happy Gardening!
I'd just ordered the Solar Fan and was wondering how to install it - many thanks for this great video.
No problem 👍 Happy Gardening!
Nice solar fan set up! 😊
Thanks! 😊
*Well-made, delivered quickly, and easy to install with **Fastly.Cool** . I may be imagining it, but it seems quieter than the 14 year-old unit that I pulled out. Of course it was noisy at the end due to failed bearings, so hard to compare. :)*
Great to hear! Happy Gardening!
Thank you
You're welcome. Don't forget to open a vent to let air so these fans can do their job. Happy Gardening!
Nice! I might use your technique in my new popup polycarbonate greenhouse, if I can figure out how to make my own upgrades. How are the non-waterproof solar panels doing with the humidity of the greenhouse? Thanks! Looks good!
They are actually working great. Better than the waterproof ones I have outside a different greenhouse. Either the Sun's UV took a toll on them or the low temps in the teens made the top coating peel. They still work though. By the way, be careful with the popup greenhouse, they don't hold heat very well. I lost a lot of starts in one when the temp dropped down to the upper 20's. If it is a 6 x 6, put at least 30 gallons of water in there for a heat sink. Kitty litter containers and milk jugs work good. Don't forget to open a vent in the mornings, even with a fan running, it has to pull cool air in from someplace. Happy Gardening!
Great job.
can you please send me the link where from did you by the solar panel and extractor fans.
Thanks
I bought a couple more for moving the air around in the greenhouse.

Hello, I love your video. I have been given 40 used computer fans from a recycler. I want to use them one each on each of the shelves on 6 shelf units that I have to grow seedlings. Where can I find info on how to connect them to solar. And to know what sized panel that I need to use for powering them. I live in 12 month sunlight.
Look up wiring in parallel. That way if one fan goes out, they all don't. Also, a 50W solar panel should do the trick for 6 computer fans.
@@CMooreStarts Thank you very much.
No problem, let me know how well it works.
is the fan strong enough to move the hot air inside out?
As long as the lower vent is open, it works fine. My greenhouse is sealed up pretty good and you need air flow to be able for the outside air to come in and circulate. As the temps got warmer outside, the top shelf got up there pushing 105 with 85 degree outside temp, by then though I had all my starts outside.
So by how much did you reduce the heat?
Around 10 degrees if I don't open the lower vent or the door's window. I had to install an automatic bees wax vent to allow air to come in if I forget to open the lower vents. Happy Gardening!
How much did these fans reduce the temperature?
10-15 degrees. Happy Gardening!
Great video, have you noticed a difference in the daytime temperatures?
Oh yes, with 55-60 outside the inside was getting well over 100 now it has not gone over 95 even with the lower vent closed. Today we had full sun outside temp was 56 and the inside temp got up to 84 (lower vent closed).
Needs bigger fan ?
I installed an automatic bees wax to compensate. Happy Gardening!
Why not install a wind turbine instead ?
I did install a turbine and made a video on it. Unfortunately we just don't get enough wind and too many trees for a small turbine. Happy Gardening!
