I would always play these games how the devs intended them be played so I never found any of these secret what-ifs. I think the only one I was close to finding was the Pan vs Baby one because I remember that fight being a pain in the ass for me as a kid.
Why didnt you try winning without pressing R3? Like, sure, you could progress the story with R3, but if you're doing so well that you might as well just end the battle, then why not do it?
