  • Today I am sharing my birth story as a first time mom. I had Isabel 4 years ago via natural childbirth in hospital. It was a very quick active labor and my experience in the hospital was not great. However I did manage to have the unmedicated, natural birth that I wanted with no epidural.

Wow. Wonderful first time birthing story. Mine was such a mess and I was in labor for 48 hours so the whole natural birth went out of the window at that point. And the epidural only worked on half of me. Thanks for sharing your story.

We mamas are super women! I can’t believe you remember all of this after these years. I can’t recall the details from my oldest daughter’s birthday.

Love hearing birth stories. I had no plans to have a natural birth but ended up having 3 natural births. I feel like the first one we are totally clueless lol

Nice to hear your birth story and I love listening to stories 👍 Natural birth is indeed a great experience and every one has different experiences. My first baby was natural and 2nd baby was emergency C-sec and my 3rd was a C-sec too.

My 1st time having a baby was the worst 😩 I was in labor for almost 24 hours then for my 2nd one I literally pushed for 7 min. 🙂 thanks for sharing your story!

  • @superisaacsfamilyadventure8862

Wow 17 mins birth, amazing! You are super woman. I would have freaked out if I felt all those contractions. I was lucky enough that I didn’t feel any contractions at all, I didn’t know I have a high pain tolerances. My husband the one asked for epidural for me because he’s the one freaking out because he didn’t want me to feel pain, which I didn’t lol. I can’t wait to see your home birth.

I loved listening to this☺️💞 how you just kept trying to go go 😄💜 that is awesome. Oh I wish I wish I could have experienced natural birth, I actually really wanted a home water birth. However I had 5 cesarean births I was always so sad I couldn't give natural birth.

It's crazy how they are so fast with things in the hospital now days. Before we had all these meds and equipment babies were born just fine 🥰 they shouldn't take the beauty and magical experience out of child birth.

I’m glad you had a fast & easy delivery. It’s insane they would say thing like that. I would ask for different nurses. They just don’t like being told what to do.

Glad it went well for you. Did they still give you medication to relax the pain or heal any cuts. Hopefully you still took stuff during your pregnancy.

It's honestly birth stories like this that make me understand why nurses/hospitals get frustrated with women who want a natural birth- like...she could've ended up having her baby at home simply because she was trying do things her way the entire time- I want a natural birth too, but you need to listen to medical professionals and let them give you information that you make informed decisions with- like I want to labor at home for as long as possible too, but not to a dangerous level to where I almost end up pushing my baby out into a toilet. My mom has been a NICU nurse for 40 years- women have done that time and time again, simply wanting to do things their way rather than at least follow directions and get information (like a cervical check when you're clearly experiencing out of the ordinary symptoms of early labor 2 days before your due date, like come on)- Thank goodness everything turned out okay for her and her child, but wow.

I can understand where you're coming from. Sometimes doctors are right, and sometimes patients are right, and both need humility to listen to and respect the other when it's needed. My first came super fast too, and often when it happens that way, things are just fine. Policy does not mean law, nor does it mean that everything done is actually helpful. Not letting a mom get several hours of uninterrupted sleep after baby is actually harmful to recovery and the risk goes up for depression. The baby won't explode or have brain damage if the baby is on moms chest instead of down near the birth canal. Pitocin can help prevent postpartum hemorrhage, but it's not needed every time. Both medicine and natures way of things should be learned by both sides. Sometimes medical help is needed in the natural birth process, often it's not. Sometimes even with your 6th baby, labor can feel so different or not that bad, and you may not know when to go in, especially if having prodromal labor. For a first time mom at the time, I think she did well.

WTF kind of hospital did you go to?! The treatment you received was awful and insane! I cannot imagine having to go through all of the nurses and doctors treating you like that. I am so sorry!
