Yup she was his girlfriend and when they broke up he wrote all these songs for her. When she found out she got really mad and didn't speak to him for a while but now they're good friends.

I know, thats the same with me and my best friend. We are friends since kindergarten. And everybody says we sound like each other! Haha.
He didn't leave the band, he's just on a sabbatical to explore more ideas and he is still apart of M5.
He's taking a brief hiatus to study up on some music and work on his own things but he's coming back soon.
On March 9, 2012, It was announced that Jesse Carmichael would take a break from the band for an undetermined amount of time to focus more on his studies of music and "spiritual healing".
Maroon 5 hasnt been the same since Songs About Jane.

It's just not gonna be the same without Jessie! PJ is really good though. I saw them live and they were awesome but it's just not the same, you know? No matter what, though, I will always absolutely adore maroon 5. ALWAYS.
