THANK YOU!! ✌️👑
I miss him, back when it was "Grant Thompson - The King Of Random" in its prime. I miss seeing him in videos
Where's he?
@@adityanalawade7557Grant passed away in a paragliding accident on July 29th, 2019.
My son and I watched this video together. At the time we were building model rockets and took this to a whole new level. I miss Grant thanks for bringing this video back up.
So TKOR react to TKOR in its prime?
Exactly
Back to the inception.
Metal oxides increase the burn rate of sugar propellants - and most commonly iron oxide gets used, hence the rust.
Awesome!! That’s great to know! -Jarom
@@TheKingofRandom Wikipedia also says that the colour of the iron oxide can affect it, which is probably why he tried different kinds. (The article you want is "Rocket Candy").
@@ZahaqielRed iron oxide is fe2o3. You only need 1% or less in a sugar motor and it dramatically increases the burn rate. I can't remember the mechanics of it, but when I was testing it I had a lot more motors explode on the launch pad. So we gave up on that formula.
WE MISS YOU GRANT!
Where's he?
@adityanalawade7557 you did not just ask that 😡
Really loved watching this one. God it feels so good to hear Grant's voice again. Much love to all of the Random family and stay random y'all!!
Doing rockets with the kids might bring back some memories of seeing that done.
Definitely do one with Pepto Bismol, it's gonna be amazing weekend project!
Really love this type of reaction video, it's not just plain watching with face expressions, we actually get some fun things to know about Grant and his thought process behind the scenes. You should definitely react to some more classic experiments. Thank you Janae and Jarom!
Rust is one of the ingredients in thermite
Iron oxide
@@brianthomason5022 yeah and there is multiple kinds of iron oxides some are more reactive than others.
rust is oxidized increase the burn rate
Is it super weird that i just found out about grant yesterday I know you won't believe but i used to watch this channel a lot in school but when I got into college I really stopped watching this only random TKOR videos (no pun intended) but yesterday I was just scrolling through your channel just to know where grant went. I literally thought that he sold this channel but then I so 3 fundraiser videos back to back and just shattered. .. He looked so innocent and genuinely good guy but i just found out he is no more and now today your reaction came... I know this isn't coincidence maybe it's for me.. 🥺🥺
All things come in their right time. I’m glad you found Grant again! He’s truly amazing! -Jarom
Its kind of hard to watch her watch his video....😢you can tell she misses him more than the audience can imagine
9:25 whoooo 👏 also no let's not eat the rocket fuel 😂 also nice #RandomHappens blooper there at the end!
Maybe he tried adding rust to see if it would work as an oxidizer similar to a thermite reaction to see if it could substitute some of the stump remover.
I did this project for my science fair in middle school around 10 years ago! Thanks grant for the fun memories!
where's he now?
@@adityanalawade7557he perished in a paragliding accident
Jarom! This is your MOTHER!! DO NOT TASTE THAT!!!
Rust acts as a complementary oxidizer. The hole in the propellant is not to introduce oxygen. It increases the burn area and thus the burn rate of the motor. The oxygen is supplied by the potassium nitrate and the rust. Finally if you build more rockets try replacing sugar with sorbitol for increased performance.
I’m so happy to see that Gaten Matarazzo is finding work after stranger things
I would like to see a comparison of oxidizers. I used saltpeter because I could get it from the grocery store when I was young. It is sodium nitrate. Nitrates and perchlorates are oxidizers.
Why is there a 6 month gap in the video history?
I would like to see a lot more go into the design in terms of casing and shape to get the most distance/height. you have what you need chemically so the next step could be physics based
He probably wanted the rust because iron oxide(rust) and aluminum powder is the recipe for thermite.
Every Legend of CZcamsr who passed life is very short...
Could you please give us a date this was first released? I'm liking this format and it also gives me a chance to watch them for the first time 😊👍
I would like to see various types of household bottles that could be used for rockets. Plus maybe adding different chemicals for different colored flames as well.
Rust is a oxiderzer for pyro technics
3:28 it was for science! 😂 I imagine they were replaced.... Probably 😅
Rust is an oxidizer. It is fuel. Added energy to the reaction. More Energy produces, more heat.
rust is a great oxydizer and it helps the burning of the mixture.
I suggest taking notes from October sky! Brilliant movie especially the nozzle!!!!!
That’s exactly what I was thinking of!! -Jarom
I miss him toooooo 😢 we all miss his voice
Where's he?
That’s crazy!
It's not pushing boundaries is out of the box thinking.
Both potassium nitrate and rust are oxidizers, thats why the rocket fuel with the rust burned hotter/faster.
Iron Oxide, is an oxidizer.
Rust is mainly iron oxide, it is considered a ballistic modifier.
I used to watch him alongside with sonic dad.
Rust is probably so you get a reaction that slightly resembles something like thermite
Rust is iron oxide. So adding rust is adding oxygen to the mix.
I stopped because i dont remember if he said the reason for rust but its an oxydizer and an uncooked mixture with those 3 ingredients makes a crude gunpowder
Damn I remember watching back then, back when it was just Nate and grant
the king of random in its prime 😢
Rust is a key ingredient in thermite
I did that experiment and if was great
Makes me want to make a volcano
Please post the one-eyed sailor recipe :)
Yum forbidden peanut butter
Love this!
Will a solar ray deflect on mirror?
Mirrors are not impervious to heat. The light will be reflected until it gets too hot.
No one has finished the video yet
The creators did
@@tudormuntean3299 hadn't thought about that 🙁
This be like 1 step away from at home dyi ICBM...doooo it
rust is used for thermite.
Reword the title Grant is the king of random so you react to TKOR rocket fuel video
The rocket fule worked
Rust = Oxidizer(?)
Don’t eat either. You guys doing the random is not the goal
who are they?
marry this guy youre so beautiful right now
2:40 😂
Rust? ... because of thermite
this is so sad
Hi
Sup
TKOR sucks now. 😢 it's not the same.
It's getting better with Jerome
They're trying, don't be too harsh
Come on man have some class.
@stabinghobo57 I would but I don't have any.
Hmph..... women
Hahahaha
*sips coffee*
Where the cool dude?
Rust is iron oxide. The oxygen in it must be aiding in the burn rate.
