My husband and I went to a golf resort (for him, I was only there for the spa and food 🤣) but we had dinner at their restaurant. All we got was Spinach Cannelloni and a coke. It came to just over $50.00 plus tip for the meal. Ok maybe not bad. But I really liked it so I paid attention to what I was eating and figured out what it would take to make it myself. When I did it cost me $6.25 for both of us including the coke. Ridiculous. 😒 Restaurants act like it’s a license to print money! 😡

Oh my goodness, gracious, the price without the chicken was ridiculous, I can’t imagine getting the chicken for all five, you can get a small pack of boneless chicken thighs/breasts and throw that in to yours at home and it still would only cost you about 20 bucks for 5 servings, I love these videos, we definitely have food at home and there is no reason to be spending that kind of money on dinner, cannot wait to see what copycat recipes and meals you do next

You could have bought a small pack chicken breasts to add and the whole thing would have still been cheaper than one plate at the restaurant. It looked so yummy.
I made a copycat KFC chicken bowl using Tyson frozen chicken strips, baked and sliced into bite sized chunks with Dollar Tree $1.25 three cheese instant mashed taters, one .89 cent pkg of beef gravy, and an .82 cent 1/2 can of corn. Total for 2 VERY filling, LARGE servings was $5.67! Two orders of SMALL orders at KFC costs $12.70 with tax where I live. And that's not including the gas it would take to get me to KFC! Hubs said it was BETTER than KFC. We can't afford to eat out anymore so I try to recreate the restaurant dishes we like the best. It's NOT hard. Try it!

4:46 Fresh basil is expensive, so I bought a basil plant at Home Depot and in California, if you buy a basil plant at a grocery that takes food stamps, you can pay for it with food stamps!
Basil, parsley, dill, and rosemary plants on the kitchen windowsill for the win all year round. I even have an Aerogarden if for some reason it gets too cold and I can’t nurse them through winter. I can use regular seeds and get them restarted in the Aerogarden. Win!
Your right, the cheesecake factory food is pretty good, but not fantastic where I would pay high price for. Now the cheesecake on its own is so very good. That's probably why I would go
I'm definitely making this one. I'm going to try sundried tomatoes, since I have a small jar I found on sale a few weeks ago. I'll bet a Parmesan Romano mix would be excellent in this (if it's on sale, of course lol). And *of course* chicken will be tossed in. Your hiccups mean the food was delicious! ;) I agree, this does have the "toss in the leftover vegetables and whatever protein" pasta you make when there's not a lot left in the house. One of my pet peeves at any restaurant, especially Italian restaurants, is how much they over charge for pasta dishes! This pasta primavera dish that Brooke just made has very inexpensive ingredients in it, so there is no reason to charge that much for it. They could charge half of what they do and still make money. Can’t tell you the last time I ate in an Italian restaurant, and it’s because I feel like I’m being ripped off. Not to mention, my family is Italian, and my sister used to own and operated an Italian restaurant. I know the cost of the ingredients. Shame on them. I just cook at home.

You mentioned that if you added chicken it was about $6 extra. I buy the rotisserie chicken at Costco for $4.99. if you divide that by 5 it's .99. but if you divide it that's way to much chicken for a serving. Use the rest of the chicken for sandwiches or BBQ pizza and you got more meals. When you go out you are paying salaries, rent ,electricity, food costs etc. I get it, sometimes you just need to go out and get pampered a bit, but eat at home and save some money.

Thank you for the recipe. The 50+ year old Cheesecake Factory (CF) has always been considered pricy. With your video as guidance, I plan on making this recipe to serve 24-36 for a homeless program. For my work colleagues, friends and family, CF has been considered a special occasion restaurant. Portion sizes are huge. Usually large groups can share a single slice of cheesecake between 2 to 3 people. Another plus of the chain is that they can accommodate large parties. Every location that I’ve visited has been in very pricy real estate-including a few ocean fronts. This adds to the cost. In my home state, California has recently implemented $20/hr for certain size restaurants. I’m in favor of it, but I don’t eat out as much either. I’m not sure if CF has to honor that new hourly rate. $6 for add-on chicken is nothing new in SoCal. That type of pricing existed before C19.
Just introduced my sister to your videos. Other than skipping the bell pepper (they don’t like me at all), I think we should put this one on our list for next week. We can get some great fresh veggies and herbs at our local Amish stand. I think we should do onions to replace the pepper.

Brook,you can root your basil stems left over from the pkge you bought. Just stick them in water on your windows sill and change out the water every day,and in a week plant it in your garden..easy and cheap..or get seeds for basil and grow it..easy..❤❤❤

After I found out that tip, using some parm and the pasta liquid to make a sauce, I stopped buying jar stuff. It is way better.

Restaurants are charged huge prices for the product they have to buy... it's Going to be passed on to the customer or they would go out of business.

Fast food and sit down chain prices are off the charts. Local places and splitting entrees are easier to swallow, price wise, but you gotta factor in a good tip for good service. Also, your silver hair is stunning!

Even if you added all the additional costs related to the Cheesecake Factory’s business expenses, I feel confident that it would still not come anywhere near what they are charging.
