it would be interesting to see, as the 2 antennas are LH/RH polarized, when directed toward each other how much the difference in signal strength would be compared to the matching pair.
You should see if you can make one with an electric screwdriver handle. Also if you made a mini jig just for 5.8ghz they would probably sell as good as the actual antenna doubt it would take someone with a wood turner long to cut the cones with the grooves so you'd just have to put a rod up the middle
