Anita Mäkelä New European Top Fuel Dragster Record 3.84secs - Santa Pod Main Event May 2019

Round 1 of the FIA/FIM European Championships is one of Santa Pod's most prestigious Drag Race meetings.
Anita, a veteran of the Drag Race world managed to break the European record in the final of the Top Fuel Dragster event, behind Maja Udtian.
This hugely popular, televised extravaganza featured over 200 teams and 17 classes of cars and bikes including the sports F1 class - 10,000bhp Top Fuel Dragsters accelerating 0-100mph in less than 1 second, making this the fastest sport on the planet.
I've been coming to Santa Pod for over 35 years and have travelled to the US to watch various meeting for the NHRA. Amazing sport.

I just don’t get how the crew can get so close, the sound is ridiculous but the fuel burns your eyes in the stands lol.

You get used to it. The nitromethane is what makes your eyes water. I've been going for 30 years now and I still cry when standing in the pits watching them fire the engine up (with earplugs in)
