    "Grab your Bibs: The Sequel"
    This video was only supposed to have been 15 minutes like part 1. However, when I started editing this one together, Mr Hollywood here realized it needed more. So yesterday I went to the club for reshoots and pick-up shots. Almost split this one in half, resulting part three next week, but I didn't. I wanted to wrap this one up with the end of the year.
    Also, please forgive any errors you may see (there are some), it was super late when I was doing the final edits and I kept dozing off. Was up at 5am Saturday morning for work, and was almost 1am this morning (Sunday) before I was done and started the upload. So yeah, a bit sleepy.
    While sometime this coming year, I should have the new area of the yard modules finished so I can debut it and have some fresh scenery to look at. For anyone that doesn't know, we've added 12" of table to the front of the yard modules, so I have 26' x 1' area to scenic. This expansion has been in the works for a few years and will be the last time these modules expand. Maybe length at some point, but not depth, we are maxed out there.
    The Broadway section of the yard is Dad's and you can see in these videos he favors the KCS and NS. The trio of NS Dash 8s with the Conrail patch unit, along with the 611 steamer are his. He also owns the Wisconsin Central units. Not seen in the videos, but the CP is starting to make a larger appearance too.
    Anyway, that's it for now, hope all of you have a fun and safe New Years night tonight, and a great 2018. Thanks for watching!
    Jason

    I love the diesel shops on your club’s layout! There’s just so much different and exciting diesel power in your shed!

    A railfan video is never too long. That EMD DDA40X is intriguing. It must truly be a sight in person. Oddly enough, scale models are available at decent prices. Thanks for all of the videos this year, looking forward to what 2018 will bring.

      My computer sure thinks videos can get to be too long. :D That DD40 is a beast, Genesis did a fantastic job with it. Glad you enjoy these and yes, looking forward to 2018 as well. Thanks!

    Jason, love all your videos, but especially the locomotive shop videos. Lots of power on this layout and it's cool to see this power moving around the shop areas. However, I do have 1 new year 2018 request...... Can we get some Illinois Central Gulf and some MoPac love , soon? Being from Shreveport La, along with KCS and SP, these 2 railroads were the railroads of my area and youth. MoPac and ICG were big players here and often I would see a great mix up of all 4 railroads sharing power and switching each other's yards. ICG, SP, MoPac and KCS mixing it up together was a sight to behold. Miss those days.

      @RailfanJason  Před 6 lety

      Thank you, glad you enjoy these. I don't have any MoPac or ICG of my own. However we do have a couple other members who model them. Their areas of the layout aren't like my facility here, but I'll see about filming some of their equipment. The one who has the ICG is a huge fan of that railroad so he has quite a bit along with a lot of the associated railroads from their history. It could take some time to do, but I'll see what can be done.

    There's no doubt this railroad empire is an incredible achievement and has more fleet locomotives per ton mile than most actual railroads, but I am curious. This pertains to the engine house and locomotive servicing / fuel areas, why are details missing? These areas are classified as Blue Signal areas, isolated from main rail / yard traffic by derails & blue signals. I worked in a locomotive service facility some years ago. As seen in most videos , these details are omitted, I would think they'd offer a challenge to a modeler who has an eye for such exceptional details as they have created building, sign lighting , train signal lights, yard jacks, street lights, railroad crossings etc. But again I say it's a most impressive display, much more organized than most real railroads.

    Sorry, but, where did you get those 3 pass cars? The 2 tiny ones and the hi hood? I never seen those for sale anywhere. Are they still available or did you kitbash?
    Thanks

      @RailfanJason  Před 5 měsíci

      All three are Walther's cars and no, they are not in production anymore. Haven't been for many years if I'm not mistaken. The two small ones are the Oscar and Piker set, and the other one is a track dynamometer car. You might be able to find them online somewhere, no promises though.

    Hey Jason, just wandering do you have any ICE or DMNE modeled engines, my dad use to work for these railroads by Davenport before they got bought by CP just would like to see those blue and yellow engines on your channel? Nice vid

    • @RailfanJason
      @RailfanJason  Před 6 lety

      Thanks, appreciate you watching. To answer your question though, no, I don't have either of those railroads. With them being part of the CP now, Dad would be more likely to end up with them at some point, he's got some CP equipment.

    • @Ajaymoon07
      @Ajaymoon07 Před 6 lety

      Rail fan Jason he would but he quit when he heard the CP bought out the train company so he never technically worked for the CP and had anything to do with them besides a lawsuit when he broke his neck jumping away from a derailing train down a rocky cliff. It’s fine I just liked the color scheme on those trains regular size but I wanted to see what they would look like as a model but it’s all good

    Quick quesion Jason, At 6:19, what are those orange things called at the end of the track? i have european buffers on my layout and saw those and i like those alot better.

    • @RailfanJason
      @RailfanJason  Před 6 lety

      I forget what the brand name is, but they are called wheel stops. They are a soft metal that I painted safety orange then weathered. I use CA glue to secure them in place.

    • @RailfanJason
      @RailfanJason  Před 6 lety

      Actually, the brand might be Precision Scale. I would think an internet search would be easy enough to find them.

      The club in Odessa, MO right off I-70. It's at mile marker 37 east of Kansas City. The club's Facebook page is linked in the description, if you go there, you'll see a satellite image of that area and directions on how to get there.
