Dude I just read that you wrote it and thought what the actual fuck an amateur actually wrote this? There's no way. I don't know why my thoughts drove me to imagine an amateur it must be the other comments but really loved it. Regardless of that, the beggining up to "and it stands but on the edge of a blade" got me hypnotized like I was taken to another world, I love powerfully written characters like that, they write the scene as soon as they speak. That beggining was supreme.
I meant the character knows how to speak if you are looking for feedback in that comment of mine. Mostly they're just a few months old and just cry :)), they're boring, frustrating and just makes you yell at them: "What the hell do you want? Say it in 5 words or less! I can't take anymore of this, someone better put in the comic releaf fast!". I don't know what you did that to point it exactly, it's not like you appealed to something profound in me, it must be skillfully chosen words.

Much of who they are and their character arcs are built on their roles as leaders and their similiar vision of what they wish the world was like. They also have one of the most tragic bonds of friendship I have ever written too. I have other characters of course too xP All of them are my favorites in one way or another.
@@gotogi83 Well, much of my writing takes inspiration from Tolkien but a lot of the higher class folk from my stories have very formal upbringing and speech patterns. When I wrote this scene, I had to look at it from Hendrex's perspective. Here he was sitting before a young man who was newly named "king" of his people after the death of his sister and had to convince him that his intentions were pure and honest. To boot, this is a man he has been at war with in the past. From that point, I knew that whatever Hendrex said, he had to make it as clear as possible what it was he wanted and why and convince him he was not lying. At the same time, I also had to ask myself what is was James would "need" to hear to be convinced. The big hurdle with his character at this point in the story is that he is new to politics. He has fought battles and lead men, but he has never taken part in governing a nation or dealing with diplomatic matters. And to boot, he is in "enemy" lands as guest with every reason to believe everyone in that palace wanted him dead. It was a challenge to say the least but I loved what I got out of it. And it goes a long way to represent the bond that develops between these characters.
