- Let's find all the Easter Eggs to Cars 1 from Pixar. The creators of Cars 1 went on a road trip before making the movie to be inspired, and get accurate information for Cars. They put a bunch of Easter Eggs, referencing to their road trip, and of course the more traditional Easter eggs we are more familiar with, like the Pixar Ball, and The Pizza Planet Truck.

He got his *RACING* tires for the RACE! The white tires aren't definietly made for racing, but to look cool. Also his paintjob was remaked because there were no sponsors on it, it's in his contract to have visible placed sponsors on him.
I literally came here to make this comment.
Yeah, he needed slicks for the race
Yeah true

"His name is actually Peterbilt". No, he's simply just a cabover Pete. He never said his name is Peterbilt, he simply said that he is a peterbilt. This guy is wild. The tire thing got me, too.
8:52 I'm pretty sure that the different paint jobs were 100% on purpose. For one, there's no way Lightning would be allowed to race under a sponsor without carrying the sponsor's name. also, in the scene where Lightning sees Doc out driving, he comments that Doc has changed his normal tires out for some of his old racing tires, indicating that cars have specific tires designed to withstand the extra strain of racing. Also, it's established in the first race that cars go through more than one set of tires per race (not changing his tires is what cost McQueen the opening race of the movie). Also, if you look closely, the paint job at the end of the movie is not the same one as he first got in Radiator Springs. And is it so inconceivable that a professional racing company would have the means to have Lightning repainted before the biggest race of the season? Like I said, there's no way that that is an editing mistake on Pixar's part. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Absolutely right
WHY YES
I agree completely, I had never really thought twice about it.
As a car nut that part of the video had me laughing out loud and rolling my eyes to the side.
You can't just race without representing your sponsors nor could you race with vinatage tires, those tires wouldn't last 10 laps at the speeds those cars travel at.
It's also common knowledge that race tires are magnitudes grippier and durable at higher speeds with having no grooves in order to maximize the car's grip.
You know i never thought id see someone show in DETAIL how they got it right all along throughout the movie. never really thought of it either so nice one.
my favorite part of the movie was when lightning just yells at everybody "Doc has 3 piston cups" and then mater replys "He did what in his cups?" i thought that part was hilarious

5:03 pce= porsche and as far as i know the postal code of weissach, home of porsche, is 75301
Well done.
Congratulations you won.
I think the reason for reverting his look for the race was
A. Sponsors, the paint job had no Rusteez logoing
B. White Walls don't seem to be racing tires and there is likely some regulation that everyone needs to race using the same tires. Also Goodyear is the sole tire supplier for NASCAR
I imagine that Lightning wanted to stay there for a while longer and also possibly make a flashy entrance with a new look
Well Its obviously the reason he mentioned the white walls was because he probably looked at the pictures and or the news
the reason he didn't use the white walls was not regulations but just basic physics. The tires would explode after a couple of laps
What was the OMB reference?
Disney animators must feel very proud, they are so talented they put so many easter eggs in the movie without even knowing it!

the mountain behind the town is shaped like a radiator cap. hence radiator springs. its not an air cleaner. also the bugs life reference is actually VW beetles with antenna and wings. the cars were nicknamed "bugs".
8:55 he couldn’t use the whitewall tires, because these are the road tires. Racing tires are built different to regular ones(in fact they are so different you would have no grip on racing tires on your road car and vice versa). For start, the racing tires are slicks: they have no groove to filter out water(unless we are talking about wet tires which NASCAR doesn’t use). Also, they are made to stand higher temperatures as the friction is much higher. A regular road tire would explode after some laps, due to severe overheating and the fact that air expands when heated up which would cause to a rapid increase of pressure to the point when the tire literally cannot withstand it anymore(racing tires are filled with nitrogen, as it doesn’t expand that much under high temperatures). As for the livery, I’m guessing that racing in Cars works the same way as in real world, so Lightning would have a contract that says he needs to show sponsor logos during every session of every race weekend
I have a race car and its the exact opposite 😅 you get more grip with slicks then you do on alternative tires the more you know !
@@brianconroy7514 well, that’s what I said😅
You have no grip on slicks on a road car and vice versa- you have no grip on road tires with a race car
Of course you have more grip on racing slicks, these tires are made for it lol
They don’t work on a regular road car because you won’t be able to generate enough heat in the tires to make them sticky- slicks need way more heat to work
the reason he had to get rid of paintjob was because it didnt have number or sponsor on it and in order to race you have to have a number and for the sponsor they pay him to represent them during all races
Yeah I didn't think that was a Easter egg either
Is your name BENEDICT????
But what about all the stickers?
Shrechuum the stickers he has all over his car. Like sponsors and other things. It hard to explain
true. however, there is a small easter egg if you want to call it that that does involve the second new paint job. it is a combination sort of of the old paint job and the new one. he has his number back on and at the bottom of the door area there are the sponsor logos. and he has a large white spot with a lightning bolt in it. sadly we don't get to see him race with this new look in future movies.
I guess the sponsors or fans didn't like that look so he switched back :P
9:29 when you race for 400-500 laps and get no pitstops of course the tires are gonna blow up! They cant stand that much heat from the speed.
@@turnerbytrade6700 Heat causes higher wear
Friction, not speed. If you never turned your car you would never need to change your tires. In theory.
I'm pretty sure it's miles/km, not laps so 400 miles
DerpyGuy3333 it’s laps
@@curseofsasuke thats incorrect. tires do create friction just from rolling down the road in a perfectly straight line. if i was to rill a tired on a conveyor belt with nothing but its share of the vehicles weight it would eventually wear out. even reducing that weight to the weight of the tire itself would still cause it to wear from friction.
13:34 is not a air intake, it’s literally a radiator cap, hence the name “Radiator Springs”😐

The deal with Lightning switching from his Radiator Springs makeover to his Rust-Eze paintjob (and wheels/tires) can easily be explained due to sponsorship. Even though he trained in RS, he still had a contract with Rust-Eze.

The symbol on the radiator springs court/fire house at 13:07 is actually a referrence to the "Boyce Motometer". Before cars had cooling systems with water pumps on them like they do today, they used a "thermo siphon" system. The Motometer was basically a thermometer inside the radiator cap, if the red was somewhere in the middle, you were ok. Too high and it's overheating, nothing to do with a pokeball or deathstar. The mountain resembles an older radiator cap. Roads naturally deteriorate in the heat and sun of the desert... you need to do a bit more research.

So red wagon = bingbongs wagon... I'm a lil sceptical about that tbh
The red wagon was a joke from the executive producers as a remember to their child hood because what child didn’t run around with a red wagon. They actually took this exact wagon for inside out thinking it will be a small poke thing but made it bigger.
He can ONLY use NASCAR tires when racing, that's just NASCAR regulations.
Also the other tires probably aren't meant for racing or aren't as good.
nascar uses slicks the tires given to him were road tires also for the livery obviously he cant use some custom paintjob without his sponsors
im not the only one watching it and finding my own easter eggs
about Lightning's custom paint and tires it can be reference to what normal people wear. Like his sport paint with stickers is his racing/ "Clothes", his custom paint is his civilian/formal "clothes". His tires at the end of movie are racing because it's like running shoes, while his white tires are more of formal shoes.
