the problem with your "kill switch" was that the keyfob has a limited range, and the car got out of that range. I might suggest trying to get in touch with Adam Savage and she if there are any lessons from his mythbusting days that he might be willing to impart before you try anything with a moving remotely operated car again.
🤣🤣🤣Damn you guys are getting good value from that build. The winner is Martin... pretty sure he cracked a smile. 🤣 Now you will have to drop the chainmail on something from a great height.
I've just started watching and I'm already shaking my head at the insanity of this project LMAO can't wait for the rest of it. Looks HIGHLY dangerous though. I can see a runaway car fr.
Best laugh I had in months. That was awesome. I loved the bowling ball. I think the car was the winner and the star of the show. Thank you for a great project.
That was literally the first CZcams video in years that I have actually laughed out loud so hard at! That was so awesome man!! Great content! Seriously I was cracking up. It was a tie I would say. I hope your neighbors are cool hahahahaha.
When you put those small fenceposts behind the A-frame, I laughed and thought: This is going to hell fast! ;-) Martin won, he guessed about the same as I did... If you´d anchored it down better, I think the result would be simular, but the A-frame might have broken and made it into kind of a ramp bouncing the car over the logs and into the same place, or turning it upside down in a loop. Landing "on its ass".. About a metric ton (the car) in that speed has a real big force. Keep up the good work, and I want you as a neighbour!
I've said it before, but I'll say it again, Martin is the only one in this crew that knows anything. My grandkids think you're awesome, their grandmother thinks you should grow up and I think I'm looking forward to your next project.
This is what safety cables are for in SFX world, car reaches a set point, steel cable breaks contact that kills engine and as the cable is also firmly attached to the car stops the car dead or at least removes most of the energy if the cable snaps, back that up with a better barrier than a few logs. but something tells me you set this up knowing what would happen with full co-operation with your neighbours.
It's 2 Am I was supposed to study for a certification instead I'm watching some guys doing what guys would do with enough skills, time and budget... Time well spent!
Great channel, love the content. Keep up the great work. Absolutely hilarious when you did the test. That car was going fast! My favorite chain mail test yet. Multiple camera angles of test were fantastic. Well Done!
A very similar chain mail system is used to catch boulders and rocks in high risk mountain passes. We have one close to were I live. Instead of solid bar cable is used. Cable rings locked together with bull dog clips. Very smart because it just eats up energy from rolling boulders. multiple loops of cable also pull through the clips when its hit... very effective. In the making video i left a comment as to why... why make that. I now understand fully.
LMFAO... 😆😂😂 That was AWESOME! Hopefully you'll do that one again, only in the middle of nowhere BC. I want to see the video of you explaining what happened to your neighbors 😆😂🤣
He said he'd shut it down before it hit the chains but admitted to just waiting for the logs to stop it then pressing it. Plus it obviously has a range man. Probably like 30 40 feet .Reckless but it turned out ok.
What I suspect is that the kit you used for the auto start stop has a function built in that does not allow someone to turn the car off while the accelerator is pressed, for safety reasons, either that or poor range on the fob to the receiver.
Collabo idea, let how ridiculous drop this from the tower. It may not be the most powerful thing they’ve ever dropped but definitely will be the destroyer of the most stuff
Using the track is a good idea, I never would’ve thought of that. But my thought of keeping the steering straight, take two pieces of some flat stock or tubing, weld one end you the frame of the car, take the other end and weld, or bolt it to the steering tie rod ends so that they won’t move.
Such a great way to end this hahaa. I just came here for the comments ... glad I got to film with you again haha. Also sorry not sorry I was wrong, if being wrong was right don't want to be right ....right.... makes sense. Who would have ever thought hahaha.
I tip the smaller chains holding the chainmail to the A-frame will give way once the car straddles up into the chainmail with the weight of the car and the impact force breaking these chains, and bringing down the chainmail. (I was totally WRONG! Hahahaha! Chainmail intact, and car escapes) What an epic video!
I think it will lift the chain mail a bit, smash the front of the car and tip over the a frame a little. Bit the chain mail should absorb a lot of energy.
You should have tensioned the chainmail along the sides and tethered it down. In effect it would act as an iron net. I suspect it would stop a semi and probably even a tank.
I think you should have a) added about 6 more logs pyramided up b) used some massive u bolts and bolted the bottom of the chain mail to the ground c) used a rope to a quick disconnect to the battery so once the car got far enough away the rope would have yanked the disconnect to kill the car.
Little bit late, but what do I think's going to happen? Well the weakest link is the A-frame. Either that will buckle or the car will make it under the chain mail at low speed after transferring a lot of energy to whipping a ton of metal in the air. I don't think the tires are going to make it over top of the chain mail, and if they do it'll just slip out from under it. I think the car will end up almost on the other side with the mail draped over it. Let's see how I did...
Wow, lol, ok, well, I didn't count on the car being powered through the whole thing, but I still think the car had more momentum than I was imagining. It did lose a lot of speed when it hit but it would have made it through. I'm glad you guys are ok. Poor tree...
Tim, send the chain mail to the boy's at How Rediculous, they'll drop things off a 45m (approximately 135ft). Alec Steele is making a giant sword for them, what better to go with a sword than chainmail?
yep in 200 years when they gonna find this chainmail, archeologist will be like : - wow we have proof bigfoot armor exists ! - there definetly was something big happening here ! Neighbor's little son pops out: - yo look at the car and the tree boys.... Archeologist: AMERICAAA F**** YEAH !
And next week we take a semi truck and.... Haha! 100% just kidding! But seriously who won, car or chainmail?
Chainmail
Not your camera after the chainmail!
Car..It made it through..Need a retest with the a-frame pinned to the ground and also the chainmail. that was so crazy though Wow!
Nicely done!
Chainmail.. doubt it’s damaged at all, I would say the a frame was the weakest link
Neighbors: Hey Tim. Did you jump yer car through my yard and hit my tree?
Tim: Yeah...
Neighbor: COOL! let me see the video!
When a Canadian gets Florida Man fever.....EPIC!
Ya know those key fobs do have a range on them.
Was just thinking that. They should have tested range before hand.
@@Adventures_with_Josh yea but it wouldn't have been as funny lol.
Really I just thought he could control it all the way from Switzerland
Normal operating range is usually 15 to 20 feet for safety.

I might suggest trying to get in touch with Adam Savage and she if there are any lessons from his mythbusting days that he might be willing to impart before you try anything with a moving remotely operated car again.
How the hell does Timothy only have 31k subs?!?!?
After this vid gets hundreds of thousands of views, I think that sub count will change. 🤣😂
@@amateuranth2796 I agree. I think this video could go viral
RIGHT?! This video only has 726 likes at this point, it should be viral lol. It has everything you could want!
I don't really know. He has fantastic content
Because there are not more mentally disabled people who are interested in things that are even more mentally restricted than they are.
All i know is if i'd done that my neighbours would have had me arrested :) This is better then Mythbusters haha
🤣🤣🤣Damn you guys are getting good value from that build.

Send it to those dudes in Australia that drop shit on shit from that tower thing!
@@ImSpun13 Alec Steele is making a giant sword for them
@bill baggins
Yeah, I’m watching the series.
@@ImSpun13 👍
Half Alec Steele, half Colin Furze. 100% AWESOME!

Fr it had me DYING
Ok this is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen on CZcams in a *LONG* ass time!
What a mad, dangerous and stupid thing to do in your back yard. Loved every second of this video☺️👏👍
Martin won. He guessed it.
That accelerated quickly. "Oh Shoooooot!" 😲 as Timothy Dyck futiley tries to remotely stop the car. 😆😂🤣 I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.
That was legit fucking nuts! I didn't think the car had a chance of going through like that. Awesome.
WOW.. That's amazing!! I really wanted to see that angle from the camera that the car hit! haha.
Neighbor: "What happened to my yard?"
Tim: "Just a Car vs Giant Chain Mail test, sir."
Neighbor: "Oh."
Mark Rober and the guys that drop stuff would have a blast with your chain mail.
Car won over chain mail, list to the tree.
Log armor > chainmail confirmed
OMG! That was awesome.. I did not expect that outcome. I thought the chainmail would of crushed the car. Thanks for the show!

Pretty sure you could resurface rutted and uneven dirt tracks and driveways by dragging that chainmail over it with a a tractor
DUDE I can't wait to see you grow as a channel, especially with the craftsmanship and action like this. I gotta say, the car won by a landslide.
I think the neighbor lost !!!! well a tree anyway :(

Cool video, but that was very negligent and could easily have hurt someone if it hadn't hit the tree.
Chainmail won. The car only defeated the A-frame
OMG!!! That was so AWESOME! Laughing my ass off!!!! 😆😆😆
That is the craziest things
I’ve ever seen. At least the wind shield wipers kept the chain mail off the wind shield. Good ad for the wipers.
I love it when smart people do dumb stuff! I cant believe you didnt think a 2500lb car wouldnt run right through 1600lbs of chainmail!!!!
How in the hell are we getting this content FOR FREE?!

how about a ball-mail, hollow or full-metal jacket? you could strap it to the holding frame

Use the excavator to drop the chainmail on the car.
OMG I gotta check out the bowling ball... LOL
Simply fantastic, hilarious with laughter, many greetings from Greece.
Wow! That was a blast! Would have loved to have been there for that one.
looks like it was out of a movie, that car was a freaking tank it obviously won
1000 lbs of car, 1500 lbs of chainmail, but the frame is unstable, flipping frame!!!
7:38 is the time your looking for, thank me later.
I think it will fly for sometime,.. and yes it did 😂😂..
Appreciate the hardwork guys ,its just superb 👍🏻👍🏻
"WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT THAT WOULD HAPPEN!?"
What were those rails originally p? Look familiar but I can’t figure it out. Thanks
Sheet pile wall
Car 100% won against the chain mail/neighbor's yard. And lost against neighbor's tree hahaha. Go Canada!
Tim, send the chain mail to the boy's at How Rediculous, they'll drop things off a 45m (approximately 135ft). Alec Steele is making a giant sword for them, what better to go with a sword than chainmail?
This channel is epic already, I predict a million subscribers in a year from now!
The only powerful stopper than the Chainmail is Tree. But that's only because the chainmail was not ground attached.
So, I laughed pretty hard at this vid. Well done, fellers!
Chain mail won. It can go another round and the car can’t. I’d like to see an old full size truck with the chain mail solidly anchored.
I think everybody won just for watching that lmao... Eeeexceept the tree 🌲🌲🌳🌳
#treesavestheday!!!
I was not expecting that at all.
Should test the giant chain mail against alec Steele's giant sword
That was honestly the last thing I expected!
i find it funny you were worried about destroying the car when it popped out of the track and yet was still going after hitting the chainmail.
12:54 I'm not a car, I'm a bronc and this is my last rodeo! Yeeehaaaw!
This show should be on network tv. 💯
That has to be the funniest thing I have seen all week man cheers
I feel like this should have millions of views
That was a cool video, you deserve more subs...:))
Can we get some one with the science know how to do the physics behind this awesomeness
I knew from second one that the A frae would tip over. It is just the most logic thing.
Using the channel and the stakes behind the frame are great ideas.
This should have a million views !!! Really great video
So this is where all the iron from my blood went...
you guys are totally nuts. Not sure what normal is, ha! I'm ready for whats next. Log jumping contest?
Stopped I was wrong. I would say the car got past the chain mail. So it won. Maybe next time you need a big cannon and a large amount black powder .
Then. Shoot anvil at it. Chain mail would win but black powder and an anvil would be. Fun.
Chainmail won because of no damage, but the car didn't exactly lose, either. To be a full, fair test the chainmail needs to be secured down tbh.
That went both really badly, and really well
I'm definitely subscribed.
yep in 200 years when they gonna find this chainmail, archeologist will be like :
- wow we have proof bigfoot armor exists !
- there definetly was something big happening here !

- yo look at the car and the tree boys....

Great video. Get these guys more subs!
Ok ya all are in Canada right? how the hell did that car have round wheels? It must’ve been an American import... 🤣 keep up the good work
Mate that was crazy , but next time chain the bottom links to the Frame.
And then bolt the frame to concert may be that mite work .cheers.
Why does this not have over a million views? ? This is an awesome video lol
So the airbags didn't go off..............................what a dangerous car.
That was really cool but very very very dangerous
My bet, before I've seen what happened: car hits the mail, front end goes up and then down, destroys the car.
Edit: I was wrong.
