The city of Clovis representatives came to us with this plan several years ago. I still have the brochures. My first question, since I am outside of this community by one barbed wire fence, was, would the City interfere with our Irrigation water, from a private irrigation ditch at Ashland directly across from the toilet treatment plan. I was assured that my water would still be delivered. We have been paying for irrigation water since we moved here in 1983. The developer, KB Homes began construction on their development, but as of November 2022 has bogged down due to the rise in interest rates for buyers. Problem for me and my neighbors is that KB Homes has damaged the irrigation ditch and although they promised to repair the ditch to its previous condition they have failed to do so after we have waited more than a reasonable time, causing several neighbors to not be able to schedule water deliveries from the Fresno Irrigation District. Another problem; Without informing water users, FID failed to inform users that their ditch had been decommissioned, while still charging users who expected the choice to receive water would still be available to them.
KB Homes employees who we interacted with did so generally in good faith and we appreciated their help with problems that arose with other factors. Their supervisor, Zak Gomes, gave me rather a brush off a couple of months ago, and stated KB Homes would only repair the ditch to its previous condition, which seems fair, and which they have not done, (I have patiently waited to see if they would) and have caused more blockage with their heavy equipment. Stuff is about to get fun.
