      And also there is the safety video briefing before takeoff reminding pax to fasten their seat belts at all times. Many pax will ignore the briefing thinking they are frequent fliers and know what to do during flight.

    Turbulence is getting more frequent, more unpredictable and more severe in recent years. Airlines must adapt to this new changes with new regulations. Belt will be on for all time now. Gone are all the comforts in long flight now 😢

      even Japan have the best technology detecting earthquake or tsunami but the intensity of the damage cannot be foreseen, same with the turbulence…there are so many factors esp our weather or climate nowadays, but atleast SQ321 esp the Pilots still made an extraordinary job to save the lives of the passengers.

    Plane interior materials usages have to be reviewed concurrently as well, to have more non-flammable cushions installed instead hard metal or plastic pieces/panels used.

    Knowing that due to the climate change there is more turbulence during the flights, I suggest the Airlines Association and Industries now put in extra seat belts for the passengers, seatbelts like the ones the crew members have...those that covers their shoulders and chest, the ones from top to bottom.

    It's a very rare and sad case for SQ. Besides confirming that there certainly will be huge lump sum payouts from claims on the insurance policies of those affected passengers/victims of SQ Flight 321, will Singapore Airlines Ltd, the CEO and its Management settle this potentially expensive Class Action dispute via 'Out of Court settlement' if the families of those who died, got hospitalised and warded in ICU who underwent intensive surgeries for their spinal cord injuries and/or head injuries, yet end up paralyzed with consequences such as paraplegia (no sensation below the waist), comatose, semi-vegetative state, PTSD, memory loss, anxiety-depression, etc, requiring long-term future family, nursing, psychological and social work support for the rest of their lives?

    You can revise , threat of fines , or even jail time but when the plane is carrying 200 passengers and 70+ passengers are Karen's in no way the seat belt obligation will be enforced.

    • @lorihamlin3604
      @lorihamlin3604 Před 29 dny +3

      Those 70+ Karen’s will be the ones with severe injuries or worse. On a long haul flight it may be necessary to move around on occasion..just understand it’s at your own peril if you’re unlucky enough to hit turbulence while you are unbuckled. Folks need to take some responsibility for their actions and not jump on the lawsuit train because of your choices.

      Unrealistic to expect people to be strapped in at all times.
      On a long haul 13 hour flight, people need to go to the toilet, queue for the toilets in the galley, have a quick stretch after being seated for so long etc.
      The incident occured suddenly when there was no turbulence warning.

    We should seriously consider reducing air traffic which is a major cause of pollution n thus contribute to climate change. Also airplane should be redesigned to have more space or room for movements. Yes it will cost more alot more infact for travellers but it will reduce air traffic n lesser pollution for our environment. Just my humble thoughts n it may not be commercially viable.
