A real role model and proof that we can rise above our circumstances if we choose to. I grew up poor, but never knew it until I was in high school. Why? My folks loved the Lord, and worked hard to provide our family with hope, love, respect for authority and others. Not that I never went down the liberal path, or did some stupid things, but God taught me at a relatively young age when i saw someone less fortunate, "but for the grace of God, there go I." How can I make a difference in their life?

Because I am a woman who research and think for myself, and refuse to agree nor follow the majority , I get slandered by name calling such as the white man's lover, oreol cookie, and what tops it all of; I have been accused of making whites my God. It hurts when it is from those to whom you admire and trust. I am sharing this, because I am grateful to hear Dr. Carson share his story and Candice Owens having a platform. I absolutely refuse to conform nor dumb myself down to be accepted by my people just because I refuse to agree with everything.
Watching Ben made me shared tears, I don't know why but there is this humbleness abt him that makes him so calm, and the way he talks about God, he is such a sweet man.

He is a modern living example of what it means to be truly Christian. I love this American hero. That's why I love Ben so much. We have so much in common when we realize skin tone is so superficial and a shallow way in determining differences. With Ben, I see him as I would any individual because he speaks the same LANGUAGE I speak and understand. IT'S COMMON SENCE! I was actually going to vote for him through the primary debates. I was so very happy to see that he was asked to join the President's cabinet. I greatly respect him and honor his opinion in all he says.
That was hands-down the best 2-minute ending speech, Ben Carson is a wonderful man, may God continue to bless him!
This was the story of a True "The American Dream" come to life. I could really FEEL Dr. Carson's heart, and his honest sincerity of a call to action, in wanting to serve the people and make things better for them, then they once were.
What I LOVED, was when Candace asked the good Dr. what he would do the night before, when planning for surgery. His response told me Everything about his character. He gave it to God, verses having a "God Complex", as too many surgeon's do. How Wonderful, how Refreshing!
I always admired him for his incredible skill set. Now, I also very much admire him for not only his strength of character, but for his humility, and reliance on "A power greater than himself" for counsel & direction in all Important matters in his life. He is a true gentleman & deep thinker. He definitely made a permanent impression on me.
I love and missed this man, Dr. Ben Carson. He has such an amazing story to tell for anyone willing to listen. Plus, I grew up in East Detroit, as it was called back then, right around the block from where I think Ben grew up. A mother's love is powerful. Think about where he would be with a father alongside his loving Mom. The family is the most powerful force, right after God.
He prayed before every surgery for wisdom as he goes into surgery to seperate conjoined twins and brain surgeries as a paediatric neurosurgeon...wow...gifted hands

I did 4 measly weeks of surgery clerkship during my training. It was HORRIBLY exhausting!😮💨😷🔪🫀Dr.Ben Carson truly had, "gifted hands". I was honored to meet him many years ago. It changed my life.
