    Verdict - The Fender Blues Deluxe is the best budget harmonica in my opinion. Excellent responsiveness, on all 10 holes, easy to bend and control bends. Slightly louder, brighter tone compared to the Hohner Blues Band, which is my second favorite budget harmonica. If you can afford the Fender Blues Deluxe, I don’t think you’ll regret purchasing it! Great beginner and intermediate harmonica.

    I have 3 Fender Blues Deluxe I keep in my car for stop lights. They have been in there over 3 years, no problem. Couple years ago I was at a community festival. There was a jam group playing. I ask when they met so I could come play. They said play now so I grabbed the Fenders and set in. They all invited me to play with them full time.

    I have this harmonica. I'm a beginner. But it's everything you said it is. I also add the DeVille harp. I love that one too. Between these two fenders and my two Honher harps, I'm learning a lot from your videos. I used to play around as a kid. Now as a middle-aged guy, I've rediscovered it and I'm taking it seriously. I once had an inexpensive "C" harp that I liked that only cost me $5.00. It was a Hoener Pocket Pal. I lost it one day and remembered visiting a friend down the road the day before and went back to see if I'd lost it there. Sure enough, it was in the road where I'd dropped it getting out of my truck. Thankfully it was a dirt road and although it had been run over, it still played pretty good, despite looking like a Cuban Sandwich. (pressed, for those who aren't aware)

    Don't have a fender blues deluxe yet, but am definitly gonna get the set with 7 harps by the weekend! 😁
    And here is why...
    At the end of last year, I got my 1st harmonica as a present: the Suzuki Bluesmaster in C.
    Now 4 months later, after lots of abuse, blow 1 has given up completly.
    Another Bluesmaster would be at 35€ around here, while 7(!) Blues deluxes go for 69€. And from what I hear they are not bad! Looking forward to my 1st budget harps. Thanks for reviewing them 👍
    PS: I'm not expecting them to be as great as an instrument that costs so much more. But, in the time since getting the 1st, there were more that followed. Suzuki, Hohner and Seydel, not the most premium ones but enough to feel proud(in a way). And facing the reality that they might all break at some point(repairable or not), is something I would like to avoid as much as possible. Especially since I can't play them as well as I wish yet. 😅

      @sync1216 Před 2 lety

      They are here. 1st impressions are positive!
      The bag: looks a bit cheap, but it's practical. And the room for the harps is big enough to fit any other model too. When I got 2 Suzuki low Manji's, they came with this semi-hartshell case for 3.
      That one can only take the Manji or Olive, a Bluesmaster(also Suzuki) for example barely fits in... 🤦‍♂️
      The Harps(handling): a bit sharp on the edges(where your hands touch, not on the mouth) but not uncomfortable. And very comfy on the lips.
      The Harps(soundwise):
      Everything I can do, works well with these! I'm impressed, for that price. The name 'budget-harp' had me worried, but they don't sound cheap at all. I'm happy with what I got!👍
      PS: my 1st natural minor and therefore my first Lee Oskar arrived together with the fender set. So if my review seems rushed, forgive me. Will add on to that in a week or two, once I realy played them for a bit longer...

    • @sync1216
      @sync1216 Před 2 lety

      Now, after 2 weeks:
      Of the 7 keys, 4 are good but the D,E and F have not been set up as good as they could.
      What I mean is, that on those 3 I've got no trouble playing from hole 1 to 6. But above that, things get a little tricky...
      On the D harmonica it's the least obvious, on that one blow 8-10 need a bit more breath, than their respective draws.
      The E and F on the other hand are bad. You can play till hole 6 as any other but above that(especially the 10), you need much more air pressure.
      And when you like to play fast in the upper end and then switch back to the lower end, you might curse on a daily basis. Like me. 😅
      But as much as it annoys me, it's still bearable. Most companies offer a set of A,C and G to get started on(and cost about the same as this set of 7)...
      Those are included and do their job as they should. And on top of that you still get a well set up Bb harp.
      So 4 Harps in the most common used keys(major), plus 3 harps that can be seen as less airtight big six's(in cheap). For that price it's still a win. 👍
      Overall I'm satisfied with what I got.
      PS: it might just be a coincidence that those 3 ended up that way. Who knows, if you can test them before buying, go for it.

    Old, vid, But as a beginner of 1 month, and new subscriber, BTW great easy to follow lessons.
    On the Fender Blues Master, I've bought a few cheap C harps to get started, but after watching a few YT vids realised, that it's just like with guitars, Buy cheap guitars usually with high actions, are harder to play, So I thought I'd buy a decent harp, a C Suzuki Pro Master, But just like the cheap harps, I was still having the usual problem with getting the breathing correct, on the 2 draw. After watching this review, and a few others, I bought, set of 3, Fender Blues Deluxe harps (A. C. G) with case. off UK Amazon (2.4.2024) £30 posted.
    I don't know if the C harp I've got with this set, is a one off, but I have no problems at all with the 2 draw.

    • @Harmonicacom
      @Harmonicacom  Před 4 měsíci

      99% it's technique more than it is the harmonica. Don't you worry, this is normal problem that most beginners experience! 👌🏼 These are the tips for a getting good -2:
      1.) Let gravity lower your jaw so that it's totally relaxed and in a nice "aw" vowel shape, your teeth should be far apart from each other
      2.) Keep the back of your tongue down, like it is when you yawn. Make sure it's not in the "Kk" zone (how your tongue is when you say a "Kk" consonant.)
      3.) Nice steady, GENTLE, airflow. Most beginners (and many intermediate and advanced players) use WAY to much pressure.
      Hope that helps! 😎
      Aloha,
      Luke

I have just got one of these Fenders for the first time, for rehearsal purposes, and am astonished at how good it is. My only concern is, with all the bending I do, how long will it stay in tune? • @Harmonicacom
      @Harmonicacom  Před rokem +1

      It's probably technique issue. Everybody struggles with high notes, ESPECIALLY at the beginning.👌🏼 -7, -8 are the most frequent ones that REALLY trip people up, but anything 6 and above can prove problematic!
      Remember to be patient with yourself. This may take some time...
      These are the tips for a getting good clean high notes.
      Aloha,
      Luke

      Not to my knowledge. To my understanding they're tuned a little bit higher because our air pressure tends to make them go a little flatter, so they end up sounding in tune.
