    Hi-pur glue and clam clamps is the best way I've ever seen architrave done. No matter what system or gadget they come up with the overwhelming majority of joiners will just use mitre bond on MDF 😂😂

    Those tenso's work out about 80p each. Definitely too expensive for architraves. The zeta is the perfect tool for cabinetry. Better than the domino. We just use it for that, its a gamechanger.

    Use a bit of glue, or the paint on the joint will crack when it moves a tiny bit through atmospheric moisture

    Mafell DDF40 cheaper to use , dowels pence and you get more glue area too .
    You can get more joinery applications with the DDF 40 🤔😉

  • @Tool_Addicted_Carpenter

    Almost seems like blasphemy to use that tool with that material lol. My cousin works at the primary Lamello distributor in the states. I've gotten to play with some toys, none as fancy as that one though. I used a digital micrometer to test all of the biscuits and joiner blade widths against my own because the salesman claimed theirs was the best fit. They're all the same, except my Makita is cordless so that's my preference. I do like Lamello self clamping biscuits. I actually started using them a couple years before he got his job but now I get them cheaper ha. I prefer my new Grizzly Dual Spindle Doweling Joiner for certain things now but I still use PVC biscuits for exterior trim.

    • @ukconstruction
      @ukconstruction  Před 2 lety

      I really like the versatility of the Lamello, and although we demonstrated the use of it with a budget material it gives a sense of just what you can achieve with tool like this!! like your channel bro, do you have ay clips using the Grizzly Dual Spindle Dowelling Joiner?

    How much is a lamello biscuit?

    • @ricos1497
      @ricos1497 Před 2 lety +3

      About 4 grand after inflation. Seriously though, I'd say that anyone using one for this application is likely charging too much! It would be very wasteful. Obviously, they're just trying to show it as an example of how the tool is used here, rather than a working example. Unless you're doing cabinetry, fitted wardrobes and the like that can be cut off-site and assembled on-site, there are limited applications for these plastic fittings that couldn't be solved more cheaply. The efficiency savings don't appear to add up for things like architraves. The example in Robin's other video made a bit more sense.
      Edit: think they're about 80p each.

    • @spanishpeaches2930

      @punxneverdead666 Před 2 lety +1

      @@ricos1497 only needed 80p each.🤣👍 Reckon a couple brads and some glue will still be way quicker and cheaper but do agree that Robin is just demonstrating it's uses. Don't think anyone would ever do that it would take ages and be so expensive.

  • @therealdojj
    @therealdojj Před 2 lety +1

    that's a class bit of kit, can you explain how it makes that cut without cutting the rest of the slot that larger width?
    thanks

    • @realtimefpv7875
      @realtimefpv7875 Před 2 lety +1

      The profile of the cutter is T shaped and as you push the body of the biscuiter to full depth it hits a button that lifts and drops the cutter. It’s what the orange cylinder does, if you look closely you can see a little pin in the centre go up and down and you can just about hear it happen in the video. Hope this makes sense.
      The company I used to work at had one. It is good bit of kit and the knock down fittings are really effective, but even in bulk the fittings are £1 each and using them for arcs without glue is dumb
