If it's this bad, you need a full front end rebuild there is alot of play in those bushing and bearings. It's not the steering gearbox mainly, alot of it may be in the track bar. The best way to check for steering slop is with the truck off.
That is awesome. Thanks for the video. Just rebuilt my steering. Few adjustments like this and she will be all done.
I have a 2010 Ram 1500 that wandered to the left, issue was in the tie rod ends
Hey Clawboss, what do you do during the summer at the bus company you work for, after the school year is over?
Hi claw boss great videos keep them coming especially for school bus
I’m actually doing one as a project.
The things to fix the problem is
Buy new steering linkage
Control arms
Damper
Get a steering box brace
And don’t beat the sh*t out of it.
What would cause wheel whobble when I turn left or right
To break the nut loose and retighten
6 point 5/8 socket
Ball joint universal
30 inch 1/2 extention.
Breaker bar...
From the top...
We will see what everyone does with all this new truck love when all the relays and parts can't be found 😂 funny thing is after your aspirin gets out the seat someone else is going to sit in it regardless vehicles get more aspirin then anything living😂
Thanks man. I read on forums this is a temp fix and overtime youll have to keep tightening till there is not more to tighten. I have no idea, but going to do this on my truck. How long has this been working for you now?
this is what I'm wondering too, I guess I have nothing to lose really, the steering is so sloppy on my old 95 ram with 227k miles that it feels too dangerous to ever take it out of town going 70 on the highway so it's strictly an in-town point A to B grocery store and take-out food vehicle, even then it's felt iffy at times going ~50-55. Went over some railroad tracks earlier and it started death wobbling until I let off the gas and it stopped doing it, really weird and scary having that happen lol
Check your track bar dude
Is the truck a stick shift? Or does it have a column shifter?
thanks
Video is blurry
Thats about where my truck is i cant believe your satisfied with that lol thats absolute dog shit im not even comfortable driving my truck like that you got more problems then just a steering box bud
Bvi
First 🥇
Bro really got the gas seconds gen 😂😂😂😂
@@Jamesozzy2311 not everyone needs a diesel besides the 360 is a decent engine paired with the 5 speed
theese trucks suck dog. silverado's and fords drive straight as an arrow with no issues from the same year. They have more power, better transmissions, better towing capacity. these trucks are a joke. New rams are okay but, but ford and chevy all the way.
@@ClawBoss Ford never built a 98 model F250/F350, they went straight from the 97 to the 1999 SuperDuty models. The 1980-1997 Fords are the best there is as far as durability, reliability and power issues all considered, Chevrolets aren’t bad but at the end of the day all you have is a Chevrolet… these second gen rams are far from being junk though, yeah they have their issues “especially the tiny 47rh and 47re’s” but they’re very simple and very dependable and idk why this kid is running his mouth about the power issue because the 318’s can hold super high rpm’s really well and the V10 and 5.9 Cummins options were the best in the game, the 5.9 Cummins still is in my opinion. I’ve been a Ford guy for many decades and still am, yet I proudly drive a 97 2500 with a 12 valve Cummins that lacks no power whatsoever haha. Keep the vids coming, love the truck my friend
Nothing Chrysler Corp built is worth a damn. Resale value horrible. Stelantis has made it even worse. imo. I sold used cars and would steer people away from them.
Lol I’m a Chevy guy and I’m just gonna ask do you even know your facts? The 5.9l Cummins had more whp and torque from the factory by almost double than any other manufacturer during this time. Ford not Chevy could keep up during the 90s. While I will say they have their issues they’re simple and reliable if you take care of them, and waaayyy easier to produce power than ford and Chevy. Newer dodges are trash, I’ll agree there.
With most 2nd gen Rams the steering issues are much more complex than adjusting slack in the gear box
