This brought tears to my eyes , even though I've only met with my sheikh, my habibi once he's been in me and my family's life for close to 15yrs and it's been nothing but love for Allah's sake , I pray to Allah to grant your/our mother hidayah and to grant you ease in all your affairs my dearest brother and if Allah doesn't permit our reunion in this dunya , I pray we're united in the Akhira ❤

My heart ached when the video ended. Few men in the ummah can give a khutbah like the sheikh. May Allah reward him for all the efforts he has done for the youth and all the Muslims in the UK.

No scholar made sourcing a condition during khutbah, only during academic discourse amongst students & writings.

Scholars are not immune from mistakes.
GIVING Salam is not among the Rights of a Muslim but RETURNING Salam is as far as i can remember? If this is true then ya sheikh you need to relax a little with Muslims.
He's not saying it's haram he's just saying what's happened to Muslims salaaming eachother, there's great benefit in saying Salaam first and there is even greater benefit in responding with the lengthier salaam. Allah knows best. The Sheikh is just reminding us do not lack in something that is beneficial to us as Muslim but is also part of our Muslim identity ...
Don’t talk to the sheikh like he’s your friend, have some manners with our seniors and teachers
The Prophet said that the rights of a Muslim upon a Muslim are six: "When you meet him, give Salam..." (Sahih Muslim)
Yes, obligation according to many scholars is to respond, but describing giving Salam as a right is correct, as the Hadith mentions that explicitly.

@@A.--. the Hadith is similar to one that is Muttafaqun Alayh (Bukhari and Muslim) which states “the rights of a Muslim upon another Muslim is 5: returning the Salam, visiting the sick, following the funeral prayer, responding to an invitation, and responding to the sneezer”
Salafism is an innovation itself.
