Painting A Galaxy Using The Acrylic Pouring Technique

- Using the acrylic pouring technique, we made a painting of a galaxy. Check out the satisfying video and follow the steps to make one yourself.
Friends, we combined some amazing colors and using the acrylic pouring technique, we made a painting of galaxy.
The acrylic paint was combined with water, floetrol, and silicone.
The proportions are:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
A few drops (4-5) of silicone fluid
After mixing each color with water, floetrol and silicone,
here's what we did:
Step 1: We added all the colors in a cup
Step 2: We poured the paint on the canvas
Step 3: We filled the empty space with a white base
Step 4: We handled the canvas and moved the paint on the surface towards the edges.
Step 5: We torched the painting to bring the silicone bubbles up to the surface.

It's really pretty, but while it does have galaxy colors, it doesn't look like a galaxy.
Edit: This doesn't look much like a galaxy TO ME. It might look like one to others. We all have different perspectives, opinions, and the way we imagine things. So let's just respect those differences, not dissing people and not call people out for thinking differently.

@@scionsilverbeat8149 it's because there is a lack of color in the final painting. More black than anything. Not to mention all of the colors are sort of neatly in a line whereas a more realistic galaxy would have dabs of each color everywhere on random places.
You could put another canvas underneath when you do this to catch the splatters. They look really cool.

When my grandmother and I do these my daughter loves to wait until the splatter is dry and peel them off because the texture is so cool, she likes to give them to her dolls
I was like looking at the splatters and not even the painting because I kinda like the splatters more than the painting put the painting looks like a ocean

I give this suggestion with a positive heart, I do hope that you take it that way. If you had used more paint you would have been able to keep the beautiful striations that you had before stretching the paint to the corners. I hate to waste paint too. Good paint isn't exactly cheap. I use a corner catcher. It works great. Beautiful color palette. Thank you for sharing.

Just remember not every galaxy is the same...
They come in three different shapes ( elliptical, irregular, and spiral)
Have different planets...
And surrounds different stars ( red giants, dwarfs, and medium)
They didn't test us on this so I have to put the knowledge to use somehow...

Same thought it looked more like the galaxy then the final product. Initial colors and spiraling for me excited but it got ruined with the final product being more straight and lines.
Still beautiful ensemble of colors in the beginning. May be artist can work to better it.

Yeah, to me, that shape looked the best with the pattern it had in terms of looking like a galaxy. The finished product was beautiful, but this was my favorite part.

You must mean the swap from original at 04:12 to the new one at 04:15. I think for the new one blue was one of the last 3 colors & black was one of the first 3 colors so that way black didn't overpower so much like the original.
