I just took down a 6 month old Sew-in ( yes I did wash/condition my hair), while it was protected. This is the longest…thickest, and healthiest my hair has been. The key is maintenance, dusting your ends, and properly cleansing. Think of your hair as if it were grass. It will and does grow, if you consistently nurture it. 🌱
I ordered the detangler from you today. The longest I've gone in a protective style is 4 months, but I didn't understand how to take down my hair so I lost most of it. Now, I understand from watching CZcamsrs and I'm learning from you and things have greatly improved. The other day a woman of another race asked me if I was wearing a weave! I was happy to tell her that I happened worn one in over 30 years. Thank you for being here!
You are absolutely welcome, this warmed my heart 💜 I’m excited for you to receive your product my dear . Now that you have a better understanding of hair retainment, your hair will be so big and long😊 I’m soooo happy for you
I can't, that build had my skin crawling. Your niece's hair is beautiful and thick. I am doing more finger combing before I use an actual comb, I'll let you know how I get on. I just want to get to armpit length let's hope I can get there by the end of the year 🙏
😂😂 it does give that vibe lol. But I totally understand. Thank you I love her hair as well , you will definitely get to armpit length in no time that’s easy , trust the process and exercise the techniques and boom 💥 long hair fast 💨
@@cocaknotz I am just taking my time and being very gentle. I would love you to do a series showing us how you grow a client's hair from the beginning that would be awesome.
It’s d Raassclaat fi mi tpc😂 You’ve definitely been helpful. Im a bout to improvise with what I can find in target to do my hair tonight following your steps
Do I use this while wearing my sew in ? MANE MAGIC GROWTH ELIXIR. I want to make sure I purchase the right one. The production you mention to use while wearing protective style to keep hair moisturized.
@@jnembh hey boo yes I use the Magic elixir in my water spray bottle and open up my sewin and try to lightly mist my braids with in and then I use the mane Magic growth drops 💦 to help keep my braids and scalp under my sew in more moisturized and growing 😘🥰😍
The comment about the water is true as a professional water treatment analyst that is so true I recommend people put Berettas on their sinks and faucets and all the water is good for you I recommend not to directly consume tap water because it literally has chemicals in it
I had crochet braids in for 3 months and had a lot of breakage because of dryness and I have a bald crown. I haven’t had a protective style since January and I miss it. I wish you come to Toccoa, GA. I need you so much. I love watching your videos.❤❤❤
EDIT: Sorry so long😔🌻 5:00-5:34 Patient person for takedowns: LAWDY! My long-term stylist does not have man nor money problems, BUT I've realized she has professional burnout🔥 I worn sew-ins the last 1.5 yrs. I'll take a 2-3 wk breather then reinstall. My hair GROWS like a weed doing exactly what you recommend 🌱 I just took my weave out 3 wks ago and each takedown with my stylist has gotten worse. She YANKS through my hair with that devil detangler brush and talks about the thickness. My build up is there, but I use a lot of aloe/water so its not as heavy. Still dusty, but hey buildup happens🤷🏽♀️ Anyway, my hair is thick and past shoulder, but I KNOW it should be your relative/clients length (with shed hair). Way too much healthy hair is also being yanked out. Even the wash, detangle & blow dry phase with that wicked dryer comb attachment is too rough. I'm sad because _she's been a great stylist over DECADES together,_ otherwise I wouldn't have stayed, but things have changed. It's taken me a while to realize/accept that I'm not imagining that she was never like this before and has burnout😔 I'll need to find someone gentle and patient LIKE YOU, Cocoaknotz, for takedowns. Ladies, beware of stylist burnout or you'll be extra thin or bald.
I’m all for long term styles, but why we gotta be allergic to washing with the styles in? Length retention isn’t that deep y’all. I promise you can still retain length without dead skin cells from last year caught up in your head.
Yes you’re right my dear , but some people like to take advantage of length retention with protective style regardless of the many sacrifices like more frequent washes. Thats why I love to do treatments in between styles so the hair can be shown some extra love 💕, I agree with you but I also understand long hair by any means necessary as well . Thanks for watching
@@WilliamsPinch true sis , I don’t make the rules 😌, I just stitch and slay , I think many people get overwhelmed or lazy with washing their hair with protective styles(it ain’t easy ) and a lot of people can’t afford to see the stylist as often, my niece in her case doesn’t know how to wash her hair with weave and dry it properly so if her hair ain’t itching or smelly she just wake up and go . But girl I feel you , trust me 😘😘
lol 😂 looks like she didn’t but I promise she did , mostly the butters when it dries and turns to dust . It definitely not for everyone you gotta have hella willpower 😆

Yep she sure did she would mist the braids with in her sew in and use growth drops 💧, it definitely don’t look like it because our hair is like a sponge you can moisturize it today and tomorrow it will look like you walked through a desert 🏜️
I'm so attracted to stylist that take their time with hair, being so gentle. Aka growing hands.

I’m trying to grow my hair too. I’m five weeks in with my cornrows.

Correct. Compromising hygiene for convenience should not be normalized.

@@bunecowalker528 yes but you will have to redo the edges and nape every 2 months because the braids can hang and weigh down your hair and break it
I can only go 3 weeks cause it itches so badly, and my neck gets sore from heavy hair.
