Thanks for the review... def one of teh best all tube high gain contenders, especially for the price... My guess would be that Master Volume and Presence are ordered that way because those are last controls in the chain of order, hence controlling the Power Amp section...in reality and in use, that is great, because in teh situation if being used as a slave, power amp only, by inserting whatever other preamp or whatnot in the Return, those 2 are probably active, which def helps in the final tone shaping

I got mine when it first came out, and it's amazing! The cleans are gorgeous and the lead channel is.......well I sold a Mesa Boogie Mark 5:35 to pay for it, I liked it that much. My only criticism is that the gain knob on the lead channel goes to practically full blast way too quickly. Any further past 9 o' clock and it's almost too much and the half power switch doesn't really make a useful difference in terms of volume. I would recommend keeping it at full power for tonal reasons and use an attenuator to regulate the volume, because it's LOUD!

Im around 16 amps deep now, solid state and tube, lunchbox and big boy... And the MT15 is STILL one of my top 3 favorite amps i own... (If youve never tried cranking an MT15 through an attenuator to get those tubes cooking, you have no idea what youre missing)

Love mine...had it over 2 years with noise gate in front and a Zakk Wylde Chorus in the loop...it's a masterpiece...oh ya I play it on a Mesa traditional 4x12

I'm noticing these amps are a little more common with some bands I've seen recently

@@dillonjamesxp it's a great amp for the price 4 sure...I own a Peavey 6505ii also and it's absolutely amazing too...but I've actually hurt my ears a couple of times with it...I love it..I'm on 10 acres...can jam as loud as I want but inside the house 120 can be dangerous ive found...but sound sooo good...lol...so I use mt15 inside most...lol

Great amp. All around, it can do everything you need and then some! FX loop is a bonus. Bias leads are lovely for a fella that knows what they are doing.

Definitely need 4 pedals with this head. Noise gate...reverb ..delay and an overdrive. This amp is great but those pedals make it greater!!!!

Got all of the above on my board and I couldn't agree more!

REVV G20 or D20 is the way to go. That is, unless PRS throws in a $350 pedal upon purchase!

I'm sure they'd do that! I've been dying to try a D20 for a while actually!

Man, I narrowly missed out on a used one of these for £235 ($401CAD) the other day, only reason I dipped was because of the FX loop noise rumours

    • @dillonjamesxp
      @dillonjamesxp  Před 5 měsíci +1

Damn that would've been a total steal! I've never had that problem with the FX loop. At least not a problem from the amp's end

The FX Loop issues can be solved with a bit of thinkering, using shielded wire replace the flex cable to and from the FX Loop tube, issue will be gone.
For a temporary fix, reduce tube gain by replacing by 12AT7, 12AY7 or 12AU7.

@@JohnWiku Sadly, does not work, been there done that haha The loop is horrible, the shielded wire and flex cable may work but not the tube swap. Had four of these, it's a real issue. Hope they fix it one day, the mt-100 has the same issue.

Hi! Nice demo of the PRS. But… Tubemeister actually has a boost button. And the RedBox XLR out which is great for live/PA. And a built in load box. And way better clean channel… ;)

Just double-checked. Looks like you're right! Must've missed that

yes but i had both and the MT15 has a WAY better gain channel with more more balls. The Crunch channel on the TM is useless and, while the high gain channel is high fidelity, it is a tad too bright and needs a tube roll..those cheap el84's on the TM always need to be swapped and also the V3
